  When I have a remote connection to the Planning Server I can run the utility successfully. However my customer site, we connect to their environment thanks to Citrix and then connect to a virtual desktop instance. Within this virtual office, there is a drive mapped on the planning server. It's the 'J' record on our Virtual Office. We created a directory 'scripts' and copied the files "OutlineLoad.cmd" and "setHPenv.bat" in the directory. It allow us to run the utility. He says only: "the syntax of the command is incorrect." We can run remotely utility or is it a NECESSITY to be connected in the Planning server and run it from there?

  Currently, it can be installed and run from the planning server only.

• You can assign attributes via the OutlineLoad.cmd utility?

  I create an attribute named Sun "Project Admin" with basic dim 'project '. I now want to assign the person to the different project under project ID. I can do this via OutlineLoad.cmd? The examples in the planning of Admin Guide do not give one to attribute these. I tried the below but he just create a new Dim attribute named "TextAttrib" for the size of the project.

  To unsubscribe from the virtual machine to a host, we use 'vmware-cmd utility.

  What exactly is 'vmware-cmd utility. Is it through command line?

  Y at - it another option to unregister the virtual machine to a host?

  If it's for ESX classic, it is a CLI utility housed in the Service Console for the execution of certain operations of VM command such as for registration, power and snapshot operations to name a few.

• Automate the OTL extractor and dimension of office using OutlineLoad.cmd

  We have a situation where the dimension in a cube must be in harmony with 4 other cubes. These provide applications and we do not use nor HAL or ODI.
  
  Checks to see if its possible to automate the extraction of the essbase outline dimension (even if they expect apps, they have only a cube inside these apps) using the extractor OTL and load the same in different planning using Outlineload.cmd applications.
  
  If not, please advice how could automate this process without HAL or ODI.

  Outline Extractor is driven from the command line.
  Contour charger is driven from the command line.
  Updating cube is the engine command line.

  In theory, you can it batch everything and call the public services.

• Cannot remove members by using the OutlineLoad utility

  I use OutlineLoad.sh utility to remove members from a dimension that we are trying to do a cleaning of the contour. I created a simple file as follows

  CC, Parent, operation

  cc1033, cc1000-rollup, Delete, level 0

  When I run it via OutlineLoad.sh then I get "Deletion of the 'cc1033' failed because the Member is used in a form or associated with a form validation".

  When I checked the use to show his Blanck. So I did not have this be used everywhere. I even tried with cc1032 but same result. There is also no configuration of security for this member

• utility outlineload error - unrecognized column header value "Base currency"

  That's what I see in my folder EXCEPT for the exceptions. However, I can't find anything wrong with the header of column value reference currency in the import of the entity file. Any suggestion greatly appeciated. I read through other messages that talk about the unrecognized header value column, but those that are specific to the column alias or in need of a space after the column, etc, I found nothing on the Base currency.

  The funny thing is that I exported dev and re same file imported to DEV without change, even after that, it's the same error I get. Clearly the application rejects the header value so that it can export the same thing.

• Bypass the load with Batch file utility

  Gurus,
  I'm trying to create a batch file to run the load of contour utility, so I need the comments about her.
  The goal is that the OLU run when we run a single script.
  So I created this .bat file containing the following lines
  START cmd /K cd /D D:\oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\Planning\planning1
  
  
  The first line opens the command prompt and takes me in the directory (planning of the depenses1) where we have the edge load the utility.
  But it stops there. It does not the second line - the outlineload.cmd.
  Should I add?
  Did I miss something?

  I tried to use the contour Load utility to load dimensions in Planning (11.1.2). The file is OutlineLoad.cmd.template. I tried running that but does not work. So I remaned to OutlineLoad.cmd and tried, but it still does not work. Were there changes to the how to use it in 11.1.2?

  11.1.2 directories structure is very confusing and totally changed, it honestly feels a project of work in progress and not yet completed.
  The utilities are all in \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\Planning\planning1
  This assumes you did a default installation.

• When to use ProvisionUsers.cmd vs CubeRefresh.cmd user filter Refresh for Essbase

  There are times when we add a new dimension to the Version of our planning application and apply security to this new version.  This happens in the middle of the day when users can be connected to the planning of an application, or possibly using SmartView.  We do an update of the database to synchronize the outline for Essbase, which takes a few minutes to process.  However, when refresh us user planning security we had questions for the security update complete.  Sometimes we kill the process, after that it ran for 45 minutes to an hour and ends.  Do not know what is causing this problem if it is related to the users are logged on via SmartView or not (any way to control this process?).

  Also, several security changes happens through shared Services as users change from groups or need extra or the removal of security on a basis continues.  We have a very stable process that morning of evry of tracks (01:00) which takes about 15 minutes to update security for planning applications six planning to Essbase by using the 'CubeRefresh.cmd' utility with the "/ F" filter option. This script running even in the middle of the day hangs up sometimes when we try to update to the application that have changed the dimension.  I came across the "ProvisionUsers.cmd" utility of planning.  I understand that the CubeRefresh.cmd is used to update the database as security filters.  I was wondering for the synchronization of security filter is more effective or safer run the 'ProvisionUsers.cmd' rather than the cuberefresh.cm?  What is the advantage of using one against the other?

  We are on Hyperion essbase/planning version 11.1.2.1.

  I suggest to keep the planning application owner or administrator of the application access control... in order to avoid any connection of the user on the planning in this activity...

  Also, I like Vincent solution to clear all sessions of the user part and a disconnection essbase before refresh security running.

  In addition, Cuberefresh.cmd - just refresh the security

  ProvisionUser.cmd - Re-sync safety from scratch through shared Services (advantage: obsolete user entry will be deleted from the repository of planning, which inturn improving the refreshment of security planning execution time).

  Hi all

  I use ExportSecurity.cmd utility 11.1.2.3 version. It gives me the result under loaded Version of Essbase RTC:0xb1230. I don't see that the Secfile.txt is created.

  I call any batch file before calling this? It worked very well in 11.1.2.2

  Try to run it with /TO_FILE = switch and see if it generates the file or not.

• cmd-VMware ESXi 3.5

  I have a server with ESXi, with a machine I want to return to a previous snapshot. In the another server which ESX 3.5, I use the 'path' vmware-cmd revertsnapshot, but the ESXi has no utility. Is it possible to do or install the vmware-cmd util in the ESXi?

  Have you looked at using the vCLI?   At the level of the console, you can use vim - cmd.  You can use vim - cmd vmsvc/getallvms to get the VMID to use for your VM vmsvc and vim - cmd / you will get a list of other options for snapshot and virtual machine controls.

  Insufficient arguments.

  Use: snapshot.revert vmid suppressPowerOff

  Back to a snapshot on the virtual machine.

• CubeRefresh.cmd - no error log

  I use Hyperion 11.1.1.3. I have automated security filetr refresh using the CubeRefresh.cmd utility.
  I write the output to a log file. Job abends for some reason any. There is no information in the log file or no file error is generated.
  When I go to administration-> manage data in the workspace and update security filter it works fine.
  And after that if I run the job once again it works fine also.
  Is there a way to know why the CubeRefresh.cmd didn't (for newspapers or error files files)?

  So maybe the messages / Debug are coming into stderr. In this case, do this way:

  CubeRefresh.cmd [options] > cuberefreshout.log 2>&1
  

  Otherwise, you need to maybe wrap the [options] CubeRefresh.cmd in an another batfile and redirect the output of this:

  Put the part CubeRefresh.cmd [options] in a file called RunCubeRefresh.bat
  then at the command prompt:

  RunCubeRefresh.bat > cuberefreshout.log 2>&1

  The only parameter that I know is "/ TO_FILE =" if she can just specify a new path to write the secFile.txt to, just give it a try.

  I use the following syntax.

  to export security of the planning application using exportsecurity.cmd utility, however I get the following error message

  Have you tried to remove "TO_FILE=C:\\Hyperion\\Planning\\bin\\Secfile.txt."
  You have really the part as it should write it the default bin directory.
