Outlook express police incorrect default during stationary use

Despite setting up the oulook express (6) to send HTML messages and with the default fonts Arial 10 to the tab composition, at the presentation of a stationary as a default file and one made previously using Arial 10 only.

The new message form appears, and in the first line, the toolbar indicates police Times New Roman 12...

How to open the new message with Arial 10?

Thank you

The body tag must specify the font for the entire message.  If you have not specified it for a component of the stationery, then you must specify it for the whole body.  Add that to the BODY tag of the HTML Source for your stationary, then it should be Arial 10 pt. :

You can simply copy the part and paste and it should work.

After uninstalling my XPSp3 o.e., I started getting the following error message: "the address book failed to load. Outlook Express is incorrectly configured, please re-install. "at the start of XP and the machine.

Uninstalling included 7 entries registry to remove all the * files dbx and files *.wab addressbook, except himself. After uninstalling and receipt of the error message above, I tried to use my CD of XP OS to re - install O.E. as a component of Microsoft without success.

I upgraded to Outlook 2007 and imported to the address book of O.E. successfully before uninstalling.

Please advise me how to get rid of the error message always appearing at startup.

You can't really uninstall and reinstall OE without having to reinstall XP as OE is a part of it. I hope your foray into the registry does not require a reinstall of XP.

  • Empty folders in Outlook Express after doing a system recovery.

    Original title: Outlook Express recovery.

After a crash the system and recovery (via Microsoft technician), I can access is no longer my email from Outlook Express files and operation.  I can see all files in the folders, I've had, but they are empty.

Probably what happened is that the records. dbx file has likely corrupted as a result of the accident. Have you tried leaving Outlook Express when the accident occurred? If so, it was probably at that time that Outlook Express has been folders.dbx compaction. Folders.dbx is the folder that contains your folder structure and parameters.

You can try the option import in Outlook Express and see if he will bring back your mail in Outlook Express. You will need to use Browse to point Outlook Express in the folder of the store where the corrupt identity. Because you say you can see the folders you must check and note the path of the file to use with browse during the import. I would try to import files simple and not folders.dbx and all subfolders. If you use select all records it after a successful import be warned, you end up with duplicates that it is extremely difficult to eliminate.

Corruption of folder in Outlook Express has been a constant source of grief for users for years. Steve Cochran, a MSVP, developed a tool to retrieve messages and this works well in most cases. The original tool was DbXtract and Steve created later DbXpress. I used DbXtract, but not of DbXpress. If your attempts to use the file, import fail I suggest you try one of these tools.

  • Problems with Outlook Express (address book, mail open, etc.)

Hi, I have a strange problem with my outlook express. The program opens ok, it synchronize the e-mail with the servers and so on. If you click on an email in the upper part of the window you can see the content below.
Now, this is my problem, I can not doubleclick on an email to open it, I can't send an email or forward it. I can't open the address book.
I get different messages, "it was not possible to open the address book, it cannot be installed correctly", "the message could not be opened, an error has occurred", "it was not possible to load the due address book that Outlook Express is not properly configured. Reinstall Outlook Express"and so on.
I used this software for many years and the problem came from one day to the other. I tried to uninstall/reinstall the program from the Control Panel, I did a repair on XP installation, but it is always the same, is there anyone who has an idea (I know that Outlook Express is and old program, but it works very well for my needs).

    What about Nils

First, try a new identity and see if that helps.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identity | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

  • Windows XP / Outlook Express - email recovery - complex

The two profiles on the computer, missing emails from files. One profile, I could not restore no problem, (accessed through local settings / application data / identities / etc and copied to a folder I created then imported), but the other does not.

I was able to locate through search .dbx files and open the containing folder, but when I sailed by a file in the same place, there is no files there. I copied and pasted the files into a folder I created on the desktop and used in OE import feature, navigating to the file (making sure to highlight the OE6 store directory) and he went through the motions, but the files are still empty. Some of the files have been restored even if there is a file .dbx for them. I'm puzzled. My mother is the one with the messed up account could not be restored, and she said she found the files somewhere (I think in the trash, even if she can't remember) and it has selected 'restoration' date at which they disappeared, but obviously they does not return to his e-mail account.

I even tried to save the folder with files .dbx to my dad and import documents in his e-mail account. Some of the files had, but none of the old emails.

Any suggestions? The files were found and displayed a size when I look at their properties, then there should be data there. Please help, some of these emails are the only copies of information for my uncle who died and it is quite important because my mother is his executrix (that sounds dirty, I know). Thank you!

If you find the dbx files you need, you can not import in the usual way without Folders.dbx is included. You can do it manually. These instructions are assuming that the dbx files are on the desk, but just replace this site with anywhere where you saved them.

Open OE and create a folder with the * exact * same name as on the desktop. Open the new folder, and then close OE. (You must do). Go to Windows Explorer and find the folder of the message store for your OE identity, but do not open it. Click on the desktop and drag the file from the office in the right pane the OE store folder in the left pane. Guest - «you do want to overwrite...» » ? Click Yes.

    * Note * if you moved the storage folder Outlook Express from its default location on the C drive on another drive, drag the dbx file to a location on this drive and not the office.

Outlook express 6 does not work anymore so I went to windows live mail, but I keep getting error messages re; Outlook express, even if I do not use it. How can I get rid of error messages?

You are welcome. If you ever want difficulty OE, you need not to be able to access first.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

Simply deleting Folders.dbx and OE should open after that.
