Compaction is a normal function, you must leave.  It makes the post take up less space on your hard drive

You should see no visible change in your email

    Help me please

    Hi Dale,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are getting the error message while browsing Web sites in Windows XP.

I will certainly help you in this matter.

    1. which web browser you are using?

    2. What is the exact error message you are getting?

    3. were there any changes made to the computer before the show?

If you use Internet Explorer, please follow the methods.

    Method 1:

Use the Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode

To do this, click Start, point to programs, point to Accessories, point to System Toolsand then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

If this resolves the problem, follow these steps to isolate the browser add-on that is causing the problem:

    1. click on Tools, then Internet Options.

    2. click the tab programs , and then click Manage Add-ons.

    3. click an add-on in the list name and then click disable.

    4. Repeat step 3 until you identify the add-on that is causing the problem.

    Method 2:

Reset the Internet Explorer settings and check if it works very well.

    See the link.

How to reset Internet Explorer settings

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note: "Please note that the reset Internet Explorer (IE) resets all of the settings defined by the user, including those established by the installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons for IE by default. This includes all the security, privacy and settings area. Also this will erase browsing history, delete all temporary Internet, cookies, form data files and especially all the passwords. »

I have the message in yellow icon notification that says I have 2 messages and I did not. I can't find these 2 posts so I can erase the notification. I already checked the saved messages and it says 0. It is not the voicemail icon. Anyone know how to clear this message notification icon.

Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

    Try these options:
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)

  • Outlook express 6 when sending a message, the message 'hang up' in the Outbox

Outlook express 6, when sending a message, the message 'hang up' in the Outbox, don't watch not in the box sent but is sent (confirmed) and continues to repeat the send action.

I use outlook in private mode and a mode of business, private mode gives problems mode business is good
In private and commercial modes, do you mean different identities? You probably have the corruption of dbx files in the identity of the problem.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  • Messages in my Outbox Outlook Express 6 remain the same if they were sent and keep returning.

When I send a message, it goes to my Outbox.  I get an error message that indicates there was a problem with sending the message and that it remains in the Outbox.  Apparently, the message sends itself on and on every time that the automatic send/receive attempts to send.  It seems that there is really no problem, given that the beneficiaries get the first copy sent, although I get the error message.  It seems that this problem only occurs when the message has an attachment.  It doesn't seem to be my ISP issue, since we deleted the account from Outlook Express and then added the account as a new account.  My provider has also examined all the settings used by Outlook Express to send and receive e-mail and found them correct.

What is the problem and how can I fix it?

    Hello

-Did you change on your computer due to which the question has begun?
-What operating system is installed on your computer?
-What version of Outlook and Internet Explorer are you using?

Suggestions for a question on the help forums

  • When I open Outlook Express I get an error message, the messages could be retrieved, error number: 0x800420CD.

When I opened O/E I receive my messages but then it gives me an error msg

Number 47 of the message could not be found. Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR problem retrieving message.', Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800420CD

If I send a msg, it works very well.

I could not find Outlook Express menu.

    Thank you

OE is in the category windows Messaging. That error means that the message is correct.  Log on to the online account and see what message hasn't been minimum and delete it.

  • When I went to open Outlook Express a pop-up message reported a problem and said he had to close (which is). Since then, I was unable to open my mail.

When I went to open Outlook Express a pop-up message reported a problem and said he had to close (which is).  Since then, I was unable to open my mail.  What can I do?

original title: exit express does not open.  What can I do?

If Outlook Express does not open, Folders.dbx is corrupt.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Note these possible side effects:

When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited.

  • How to get outlook express to stop asking Compact messages

How can I get outlook express to stop asking Compact messages

    * If you use not OE, or you leave compact and always see command prompt, post-bac. You have one from different then I wil describe.*

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

Compacting your folders periodically is a must to keep OE works fine and at some point, you may lose all your saved messages if you do not. When you delete or move messages, the space they used remains until you compact.

Never touch anything until the compression is finished.* *.

    See:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

With SP2, Automatic compaction in the background has been removed because of problems he has caused. Now, you will get a prompt to compact after 100 closures of OE, you need to do, and do not touch anything until it's finished. If you compact manually, at your convenience, this will also set the counter to zero. See this for more information:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

If you are fully patched, you will now see a copy of your dbx files copied to the Recycle Bin as BAK files. If something goes wrong when compacting, the messages can be easily restored from this backup. A compact manual resets also the counter in the back of the registry to zero now.

For more information, see the information framed in red here:
    www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

To keep things running smooth and harden faster:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. It will eventually become corrupt and you may lose mail. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    And backup often.
