Over the Air (OTA) authentication .htaccess .htpasswd 401 error

Hello

I have a signed application for Blackberry build against v4.7 OS and OS v4.2.

I've successfully installed on a site to download OTA (file .jad + individual .cod files).

User can download and install via the web link.

The problem is I'm trying to set up basic with .htaccess authentication so that users are required to enter a username and password defined on server in .htpasswd or equivalent. It works on the emulator with MDS and on at least one device (a Verizon Wireless Tower).

I can't make it work on phone my client or my Verizon Wireless Storm.  It fails with "error 401: Unauthorized Access."   I have full access, to the server and all newspapers.

My .htaccess file is:

AuthUserFile
AuthGroupFile /dev/null
AuthName
AuthType Basic

AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptior jad
AddType application/java-archive jar
AddType application/vnd.rim.cod cod

require valid-user

Issues related to the:

1 .htaccess is located in a parent directory of real .jad and .cod files.  I think it's ok.  I tried putting the .jad and .cod with no change .htaccess files.  Is this ok for .htaccess in a directory parent?

2. is it possible to change the basis of Digest authentication?

3. why 401 error, I checked several times passwords?

4. is there anything else I should try in the above .htaccess file?

Please notify.

-Sincerely, David

They use the Internet browser on the BlackBerry Internet Service.

When you use the Internet browser requests can pass through a number of different servers.  This means that the request to download your JAD file, and individual files of COD could come from different servers in the pool.  But as authentication would receive only with the first request therefore a 401(k) for the following applications.  There are two ways you can work around this problem.

1. password protect your JAD file and leave the COD files without protection.

2 use a HTTPS connection.  This translates all connections you through the same server.

I have several websites in Muse. Everything was fine until last night. When publishing to Business Catalyst I get a message, teling me the following: unknown authentication problem - shared unknown error: 80. What should do?

    Hello

To resolve this problem, you will need to disconnect muse and connect again.

Here are the steps to the disconnection of Muse:

    1. help > log out.

    2. Once signed on restart Muse (please sign using Adobe ID if she invites to connect)

    You should be all set.

  • How to install an STK applet on the SIM via OTA (over-the-air)?

    Dear all,
What I'm trying to do is to load and install an applet by sending (live) from the same sequence of direct orders of APDUs GP wrapped in orders of the envelope.
The direct sequence sequence is to select issuer security domain, the initialize update and external authentication before loading and installation. However, 03.48 does not specify these steps of safety management. Does this mean that load and install commands can be sent without prior authentication?

    Hello

You could try implicit initialization of secure channel. If you have SCP02 maps with i = 44, 45, 54 or 55 (GP Card Spec 2.1.1 change M), you can use a well know challenge card Pseudo-aleatoire to open the secure channel. This means that you can precalculate the channel secured without direct access to the card.

    See you soon,.

  • Update generation of over-the-air analog signals

Is there a way I can change this VI to allow real-time changes in the frequency, phase, amplitude and type of waveform to the continuous output through an acquisition of data NI 9263? For the moment, changes to these variables only happen in the output signal if the program has these variables set correctly when running.

    The solution to this problem:

I found this VI, and this allows me to have the hardware buffer to be continually updated with new information of signal. The 2010 version, it works very well for me in the transmission of signals in direct update via my NI 9263 measurement system.

If you want to share information with other users online Blackberry unit are the best option.

If you want to synchronize your information directly with your computers there are a lot of companies to do that, not free, but...

An option and you can download a free trial version

I should add to the above that you may need to register with DataViz in order to access the download area (I don't know because I signed up at the beginning of this process).

On persistence with DataViz they sent me another link with instructions, these instructions used the installer of the application (DeskTop Manager), but the instructions included requirements to remove the DeskTop Manager D2G version (obviously is not possible to speak to the support of BB).

Finally further discussions with BB this morning had it works.  The trick is before you try to install the note above .zip file, remove your device D2G (options/adv. options/applications select D2G, and select Remove from the menu button). Then worked the rest of the instructions above.  So the above instructions will work with Windoze or Mac, and you don't need DeskTop Manager or Pocket Mac, just a card for your phone.

    Hi all

I have a problem in the ldap authentication.

  • the .xml file will not hold the new version I am writing on the 'AIR for iOS settings' window on Flash cc 2015

    Hello

I need to download a new version of my app on iOS, but the .xml file will not hold the new version I am writing on the 'AIR for iOS settings' window on Flash cc 2015. It keeps appearing as:

    <? XML version = "1.0".

also when I try to download the new .ipa on iTunes Connect with the Application Loader, I get this message:

    "" "ERROR-ITMS-4238:"redundant binary Upload. " «"" "" There is already a binary download with release ' 1.0.0' train ' 1.0.0 ' "at SoftwareAssets/PreReleaseSoftwareAsset»»»

The problem is not of Application Loader or iTunes Connect as when I open again the .fla and check the window 'AIR for iOS parameters' he continues to display the 1.0 version over and over again. If Flash isn't that save the .xml file.

And it happens with all my other apps Android or iOS, old and new versions, all appear as <? XML version is "1.0" on the .xml file.

Is anyone know how can I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

There are two different values, the build number and version number. If you use a test flight, you can submit an update without obtaining a review by increasing the build number. If you are submitting an update to an application in iTunesConnect, you must increment the version number.

  • What happened to this known issue with the AIR 18?  Is it fixed? (CSA 2.0, type coercion: 3578605)

In the recent past, the three ads documented SDK 18 AIR outlet some known problem:

    • ASC2.0 update app reports an error of Type with MovieClips CFC constraint (3578605)

    (For reference: 09/06/2015 - news release - 18 AIR Runtime and SDK |) 08/07/2015 - shared - AIR 18 Runtime and SDK | ( 11/08/2015 - shared - AIR 18 Runtime and SDK )

Last week, the announcement of the AIR SDK 19 (21/09/2015 - release - 19 AIR Runtime and SDK) there is no mention of whether this is still a known issue or a fixed.  It's a hard problem to test, and it would be good to know if Adobe believes that this issue has now been addressed. (Or... If someone else in the community has evidence suggesting that this problem has been fixed, which would be also good to know!)

In addition, it would be useful if someone could tell me if this internal bug in question (3578605), corresponds to this public one: Bug #3562040-2.0 app compiled CSA Type coercion report crashes with MovieClips in CFC

    Thank you

    Russell

    Hi Russell,

This is still a known issue and that I plead.  We had security of mitigation (in other areas) which had priority over that in our press releases press.  He put open/tofix in our database bug with a priority 4/4 and (higher) gravity and I hope we can come back soon.

    Thank you

  • Best practices in the selection of the type of authentication

    Hello
I use Jdeveloper 11.1.2.1. I had reviewed the security and best practices (sorry Chris!) on the selection of authentication types.

Frankly, I prefer basic HTTP authentication because it creates a popup of connection for you (simple - less coding), but I met some documents which make me wonder if this is to be avoided.

    1. This tutorial uses an approach based on the forms: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_29/jdtut_11r2_29.html

    2. this video of Frank Nymphius (in 42 minutes) uses Basic authentication: http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/AdfSecurity/AdfSecurity.html

    3. fusion Developer Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework 11 g Release 2 (11.1.2.1.0) says:

The most commonly used types of authentication are authentication HTTP Basic and form authentication
It also indicates that the forms-based login page is a JSP or HTML file, [and] you will not be able to change with ADF Faces components.

    4. the States of Oracle Fusion Developer Guide (Frank Nymphius) which has a side effect of basic authentication is that a user will be authenticated for all other applications that are running on the same server - you must not use it if your application requires disconnecting...

    5. the manual of Jdeveloper Oracle 11 g tells that basic authentication must NOT be used at all (page 776) because it is used primarily for older browsers and is NOT secure according to current standards.

I was able to use Basic authentication, and Digest Http authentication very well, did not attempt to based on the forms for the moment.

For fun, I tried to choose the type of authentication of Client HTTPS and received this very worthy error message (and readable - wonder for java, huh?):

    RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol--HTTP / 1.1:
    10.4.2 401 unauthorized
The request requires user authentication. It MUST contain a header field WWW-Authenticate (section 14.46) containing a fault that is applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable authorization (section 14.8) header field. If the application already includes identification of the authorization information, then the 401 response indicates that authorization was refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the previous answer, and that user agent has already attempted at least once authentication, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include diagnostic information relevant. HTTP access authentication is explained in section 11

I'm sure there is one that depends on the answer to that, but I would use the most reasonable and safe type - without too much cost if possible.

    Hello

Basic authentication makes base64 encoding and is OK to use if the site is accessed from HTTPS. The browser actually sends authentication of users with every request, which makes this approach - if used outside of https - less than optimal. The base forms authentication is easy to implement and more record only basic authentication, it sends a name of user and password to each request. The recommendation is always use HTTPS for secure sites. Most of our samples describing the connection use https as it is a configuration that is not extended within what samples are supposed to demonstrate. For safety, "without much overhead if possible" means to weaken security. In your case, if you have tried the digest authentication so I guess that's the one with the least amount of overload

  • Windows 7 / IE8 converts the AIR file to ZIP

The AIR installation badge works perfectly well for most of my clients, but sometimes there are problems.  To resolve this problem, I created a page of support with a direct link to the .air file (and also a. air.zip for Mac OS X as he unzips the file being downloaded).  When I click on Save Target As... option in IE 8 it replaces the .air .zip file type, and then saves it as a .zip file extension.  If I manually change the file extension to .air then it works fine however talking about customers through the display of file extensions process, then make the changes is really unprofessional.

Any ideas how I can fix this problem?

    TIA

    David Anson

You will have to make the change on your Linux server.

If it's Apache, you can create a file named .htaccess in the directory of the uat with the following content in it:

    AddType application/vnd.adobe.air-application-installer-package+zip .air

David Tucker has instructions on how to do this on different servers: http://archive.davidtucker.net/2008/01/08/update-your-air-mime-type/

  • In the Console of the Cocomo Dev authentication failure

I have two Adobe ID - one I've had for years and one that I created just to test Cocomo - and I'm unable to connect via the Dev Console with or any of these accounts. I always get the message "Authentication failure" when I try to log in.

I tried to use the meeting URL and the URL of the account (they seem to be different - the URL I enter in fact the meeting is different from the URL that appears as the "account URL" in the management page on http://cocomo.acrobat.com) but I still get the same error.

    Customer card:

    OS: Windows XP SP2
    AIR version: 1.5
    Flash Player: 10
    COCOMO SDK: SDK 0.9 Beta
Proxy type: NTLM (this has caused problems in the past with Adobe products, but applications seem to be coming out correctly in this case).

Any ideas what might be going on or how I can get a more detailed description of the error (I can't find the logs of error anywhere)?

    Thank you
    John.

I finally found what it was!

I thought that he could have the password, so I created another account using the "new Dev? The Sign up button! "with a simple password (letters and numbers only - no! @# $%^&*() characters).

There are obvisouly something to do when the AIR app sends the password to the remote server (URL encoding maybe?).

mpbikc - try to change your password or create a new account with a simple password and see if it works for you.
