Own Instrall of Windows 7

I did a clean install of Windows 7. Every thing is fine, but windows update is dead and I mean dead. I need a solution for this, one that will 100% solve the problem period once and for all. Everything is authentic Microsoft and it is enabled. Suggestions windows programmers?

After you run Microsoft fix it tool for updates, it finally started downloading of updates after 30 min., everything seems to work ok for now. It worked for me do not know if it will work for everyone. A side note, the reason for the clean install I had a bigger hard drive and a new copy of windows 7, I wanted to use.

I bought a new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit pre-installed.  I have my own copy of Windows and want to use my own product key, but even though I followed the instructions of Microsoft it is not a way that I can enter the number in the activation section because it says already activated

    Why would you do that?

Is the key you have for the same version that preinstalled, for example a bonus, Pro etc, and it is a detail, not upgrade version key?

Assuming that you have created recovery disks, in accordance with the instructions of PC makers, if ever you use these to retrieve if you plant you will need to change the key again.

And while you can reinstal of your dvd win, this would not include a pre-installed applications, and then you need to install the drivers for this PC manufacturer

the easiest way is to use your COA key. (it can be found in your battery compartment.)

You should also have an OEM recovery partition that can be used to retrieve shipped from your system to a State. check your documentation or your manufacturer's website for instructions on how to use it. You can also order your manufacturer's recovery disks.

  • Adding my own music to Windows Movie Maker projects & computers mi change project.

I used Windows Movie Maker to make two DVDs for the graduation of daughter gifts.  I was almost done and tried to add my own music but can't seem to figure out how.  In addition, I discovered that my disc on my computer was not working so I saved my projects to a USB key and went to another computer.  When I opened the project format and title pages were there, but all the photos that I spent hours to download and organize projects disappeared.  How can I get my projects into DVD, and how do I add my own music in them?  If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I'm short on time.

The Movie Maker project file does not include the source files
(Photos, video clips, music videos) it simply records the path

  • Clean install Windows 7 with UEFI in dv6-7215nr

Hi, I would like to do a clean install of my HP dv6-7215nr Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x 64 envy laptop.

To this end, I have 3 questions to solve some installation issues.

    1. What are the steps to clean install Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise intact in UEFI mode?

I tried to install Win 7 after the pre-requisites following:

    (a) not partitioned 200 GB free space on the disk (only 1 physical disk)

    (b) already installed Windows 8 files with UEFI

    (c) UEFI enabled

    (d) heritage disabled startup

    (e) secure boot disabled

When I Boot in UEFI of CD/DVD, I can't switch to the Windows startup screen, it just hangs. What I am doing wrong? Is there any other prerequisites that I don't know?

I tried to install UEFI with Legacy enabled Boot, and I installed win7 but I can't disable Legacy new Boot because Win7 boot and I want only the UEFI Boot and need for inheritance disabled.

    2. where can I download drivers for Windows 7 for my laptop?

    I found this topic:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/HP-envy-DV6-7210ei-downgrade-fr...

    They point to these drivers

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us & dlc = in & lc = in & product = 5273735 & task = &

I think I could use these drivers, but I need just in case where. I guess they should work as the product names are roughly similar (with mine).

    3. is it possible to Secure Boot with Windows 7 SP1?

I have no research on this so far.

Thanks for the help that someone in the community can give to me, it is not important all the problems that I have set in I can still do research on questions 2 and 3 and help others with my research if I can do it before a response. Any info you can give me will be too great.

    Carlos

    (1) ' secure Boot' must be DISABLED and 'Legacy Support' must be ENABLED to install Windows 7 and many other older operating systems. The bootable media must support UEFI boot to install on a GPT-partitioned drive.

You let people with DISABILITIES 'Secure Boot' (and 'Legacy Support' ENABLED) once you have installed Windows 7. Changing these options causes Windows 7 to start is no longer.

    (2) the Windows 7 drivers on the CTO Entertainment Notebook PC drivers HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 page you referenced, will work on your computer.

    (3) it is not possible to install or use Windows 7 with "Secure Boot" ACTIVE.

    WARNING *.

HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a consumer computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP cannot provide the drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not take in charge some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

You will need to DISABLE 'Secure Boot' and ENABLE 'Legacy Support' in the 'Configuration of the BIOS start-up secured' on the page parameters below, until you try to install Windows 7.

In addition, as the hard drive is probably partitioned as TPG, you must start the computer by using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or "UEFI - USB Flash drive" options in the boot menu "F9". If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive", "UEFI - USB Flash drive" or something to that effect does not exist in the start menu, please post a screenshot and/or make startup listed options.

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

If you have missing or unknown devices after installing the drivers, please post to the "Hardware ID" Device Manager (just the text string will do) to these devices as shown in the example below.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Portege M400 - cannot install Windows XP on the new HARD drive

    Hello here is my problem,

I bought an older Portegre M400 E, without a HARD drive. So I buy a new Samsung 400 GB. I looked in the Bios (ACPI BIOS Version 3.40) and it is ok. He shows me the HARD drive with built in Assign LD - 0 status ONLINE, 400 GB size so it seems to be nice. Changed the matrix Raid, described in the manual, in condition to create 1Raid-0
So, I want to boot from the Windows XP CD, not recovering my own.

Windows open to the top and after a short period, the installation ends with the message that it is not any HARD drive. This I try sometimes :-( Hope someone can help me.
Do not forget that I didn't have any HARD disk with the dates of the laptop.

I don't know much about your model, but I think that something wrong with the raid in the Bios settings. What other options are available in the Bios for the State of the hard drive? I found the RAID driver on the Toshiba driver page. It is possible, that you can integrate in with a program called nlite Windows installation disc or install Windows as in compatibility mode, and install the Raid driver. then

This can be delicate process, what I said, you must have is prior to this problem was to make the recovery media, but if not you must reorganize again thanks to HP when you restore to installed at the plant everything should be in working condition. Since you are using your own Windows 7 it must match the factory installed o/s otherwise the product key will not work and you must use the product key that came with Windows 7 using your and given that you have downloaded Windows 7 since we have no idea of what the factory o/s version has been compared to the version that you obtained. If you need to match the downloaded Windows 7 to Windows 7 factory so that your product key for work and I doubt that the site you downloaded since except if it's the same o/s, corresponding to the installation of the factory will not work. This means that you must buy a new product key for Microsoft in order to activiate you Windows 7 you downloaded.

  • RE-FORMATTING of Windows and product recovery

I want to format my computer and I was wondering if the product recovery disc contains only the Toshiba and Windows software? OR I have to find my own copy of windows to reformat then use the product recovery disc back to the software?

    Hello

Simply boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD. This will start the installation of image. But the standard procedure will be everything delete you partitions on the HARD drive. In this case, be careful.
The image includes all the stuff of Toshiba (drivers & tools). The Windows is activated and that you don't need t all the keys for the output.

  • Satellite L500D - 16L - no disk recovery Windows 7 64 bit included

    Hi all

I'm curious... I bought this laptop a while a go and was browsing the Web from Toshiba site and it says that this laptop should have Windows 64 bit on it. I thought just is it possible to install my own copy of Windows? Usually I'm stuck sort of encrypted messages as this copy of Windows may not be installed on this laptop or something or where can I get an official copy of windows which must go with this laptop?

    Hi whipser1,

I checked the specs on the site Web of Toshiba Satellite L500D - 16L and 64-bit Windows 7 is pre-installed, but you can also get a recovery with Windows 7 32 bit disc.

So what version of Windows 7 is currently installed?

If Windows 7 64 bit is installed you can create the recovery disc yourself for the 64-bit version. Therefore, to start the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and follow the instructions on the screen. You just need a few blank DVDs to create the disks I recommend DVD-R from Verbatim or TDK media.

    Hi all

I have the Satellite A110-275, Windows XP HOME Edition. I installed all types of codecs like K-Lite, all THE Codecs pack, Divx, filter AC and all the others, but my problem has not been resolved. My problem is that when I watch a movie online / new online running on Windows media player. I can hear the sound but no video is displayed. I have all the steps to see the video, but fails.

Can someone tell me please the solution of this problem? Any type of live streaming codec, etc.

    Hello

Your suggestions might be. I think you need a codex or right and compatible for Win Media Player or you will need to install another player.

Sites Web de Microsoft provides own codex for Windows media player. I ve installed the beyond and I'm able to watch all the movies and short clips on the sides of the internet as youtube for example. No problem at all...

Check this sites from Microsoft and plug-ins available:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

But I noticed that many Web sites provide movies that can be opened with flash player.
I would recommend so also install this player. As far as I know you can find it on the Adobe site.

Good luck and best regards ;)
