Sansa Connect mp3 Bitrate

I just want to know if CD encoded in higher than 192 Kbps bitrates can play on sansa connect? for example, I use to encode my music on VBR or 256CBR Kbps for best results.

Thanks to advice and sorry for my English.

Martin.

Yes, many of my MP3s were bought from Amazon.com and are 256 Kbps or higher.

    Hello

First of all, thanks a lot for taking the time to help me.

After having tried everything you have suggested and have no chance and then by searching the Microsoft sites, Dell and SanDisk, I finally found a very simple solution that worked.

Thought I would pass it for any future reference.

The SanDisk site said to try this:

Activation or forcing MSC mode on the Sansa player

How to connect my Sansa in Mode "MSC" player or forcing MSC mode on my Sansa player?

The steps below will force your readers Sansa Connect mode MSC on your PC.

    Sansa Clip Zip
    1. turn off the device.
2 hold down the central button while connecting the device to the computer.

    Thanks again.

  • Follow this procedure when the Sansa Connect recovery tool does not work!

    Hey people;

This thread is just to consolidate the info from a lot a longer wire, earlier.

Currently, the Sansa Connect recovery tool may or may not work for you.  You can see an error like 'failed to connect to the Internet' or "cannot retrieve the device, SanDisk contact technical support for assistance."  If Yes, it's probably because the recovery tool is unable to download the firmware images he needs zing.net.  SanDisk has not (yet) recognized this problem.  The strange thing is that * sometimes * recovery tool works, if you already have images of the firmware on the drive... but usually it doesn't.

So here's what you do (with thanks to Larlos for providing the firmware images and order lines to their installation).  This assumes that you're 'stuck' to the "necessary recovery" post on your connection.  If not and you are in the regular menu of Sansa Connect, first follow steps 2 and 3 in this paper: http://mp3support.sandisk.com/tools/connect-recovery-instructions.pdf, do the following:

    (1) download the zip file containing the images of the http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UNLDGZ1N firmware

    (2) search for the following files in the zip file, and then copy them into the directory of your drive "C:\Program Updater Connect Device Recovery\cmdline":

    • everest_initrd_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.SRR.e
    • everest_vmlinux_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.SRR.e
    • yeverest_zap_ota_rel_1.1.2.65799.tar.gz.e
    • yeverest_zap_ota_rel_ext_prod_1.1.2.65799.SIG

    (3) in the same directory, create a file named recovery.bat that contains the following three lines:

    zsi_fw.exe w everest_vmlinux_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.srr.e everest_initrd_ext_prod_1.1.1.50239.srr.e

    zaprecover.exe t 600000 f yeverest_zap_ota_rel_1.1.2.65799.tar.gz.e yeverest_zap_ota_rel_ext_prod_1.1.2.65799.sig

    pause

    (4) connect your Sansa Connect USB.

    (5) run the recovery.bat file (double-click it in Windows Explorer, or run from a DOS command prompt).  The line of 'pause' is there only so you can see the results of running if you run it from Windows Explorer.  Expect the recovery to the end; at the end of that your connection will restart.  If Windows displays the hardware wizard detected during this process, simply cancel the wizard.

Thanks for the help - it updated my white box to connect to the WiFi and after registration on Yahoo (without choosing any service, just updated my old email and user ID) I now INet radio with a number of stations that work fine on my home wireless network. To do this, DND to explore and syncs with WMP OK. A few quirks that I wonder about.        (1) after the firmware update, my ZAP showed that 1.2.0.58335r and OS = 1.2.0.58835 - NOW (the next day), it changed to ZAP = 1.1.2.65799r and 1.1.1.50239 = OS. Every thing seems to work even though; I have a firmware download while I was playing with the INet radio?     2) there is also a new menu item "Server Zing" that lists the name of the module, the version, and the primary and secondary server. Is this normal?  (3) what Yahoo service I - I see a small Y! symbol at the top right of the screen.                                                                                                                                               Thank you very much and congratulations Warren

    (1) no; you see the version numbers are associated with the files of the firmware (names starting with "everest" and "yeverest" files) that you have either downloaded when you ran the recovery tool, or download in megaupload.com zip file.

    (2) Yes, it's normal.  Zing is the company that allows you to manage authentication of audio stream and firmware for the connection.

    (3) the Y! symbol indicates just that when you use the Internet Radio feature, you are streaming audio of Yahoo (in fact, now owned by CBS Radio).  There is also a function of Flickr photos, which is associated with Yahoo.

    Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, I was a little awkward. I spilled orange juice on my sansa fuze mp3 player and now I could not move the small wheel more . Everything else (electronics) is OK, but now I have to clean it up.

I would be very happy if someone could explain to me how can I open it... I tried, but so far I have not.

    Thanks in advance,

This can help. But be warned if you open it and it goes bad later SanDisk who see and decide to not honor the warranty.

You can, but only after you make sure that you have a DPW facility on your system.  MediaMonkey installation does not install the MTP.  For PSG installed, you need to install WMP 10 or higher.

There are also installation separate PSG only packages, but I can't vouch for any of them.  Maybe someone else in this forum can.

  • Sansa Connect User Guide

Hello, I am fairly rudimentary and just bought two Sansa Connect for a very good price in a white box.  The box contained no any Quick Start Guide or user manual.  The messages that I found in this forum about the User Guide lead to links that no longer work.

I have no idea how to move music from my computer to the Sansa Connect, although I understood how to maneuver in one menu defined in the other.

In "Models of retirement" section, the San Disk support site does not appear to list the Sansa Connect, mentioning only the Clip, the "rocket" and the point of view.

    Can someone help, please?

    TIA for any assistance.

  • Sansa Connect and Windows 7

I have windows 7 and wmp 12. I just bought a connect, and I can't connect it to the computer at all. It appears in Device Manager as code 10 device could not start. Ive looked all over for a solution, please help me. I bought it and now I can't put anything on it

Do a search for "Windows 7" across all forums of Sansa:

    http://forums.SanDisk.com/Sansa/search?submitted=true&q=Windows+7

There was a lot of messages about problems using various Sansa player in MTP under Windows 7 mode.  The Sansa Connect does MTP mode.  You may find your answer in one of these threads.

In addition, code 10 can occur on Windows 7 when a USB port cannot supply the power required by the device.  Try other USB ports on your computer, especially those on the rear panel.

  • Sansa Connect Wifi Options

Hi - I bought a refurb Connect just to use as a player and just found out that it was designed to connect to the Wifi.

I also found the post of PromisedPlanet on how to reactivate the feature Wifi (thanks!)

Before passing through this procedure enough geekish, I thought I would ask what I'm going to take when I'm done.

I understand that there was originally a subscription service of Yahoo to download music, but who stop.

I guess I can still do some sort of streaming content from free sites?

What are some of the sites I can access?

    Pandora, Live365, Shoutcast?

How about on the air stations to broadcast their content, such as BBC, NPR, etc.. ?

What about sites that will flow archived content as podcasts?

  • Newbie can "t get PC to see the files in Sansa. Just Sansa rpet 'connected '.

Got an e260v2 mainly to record interviews, who intends to move the recording files to a PC where I can transcribe them.

Figured out how to make the recording. Can be read in the Sansa.

When I plugged the USB cable from the Sansa into my PC Sansa screen just stick to 'Connected' to the green display of the two-way arrows between the Sansa icon and icon for PC. I took out the USB plug, it reintroduced earlier and now Sansa says 'Connected' with no animation green arrow action.

But it does not appear as a mass storage device in my computer.  During previous experiences trying to connect the PC downstairs to right kept popping up the message "Found MTP device."

I don't see any way to access my record or anything in the Sansa via my PC.

My PC is XP with SP3, all updates and is generally clean, solid, and well maintained.

My Sansa was purchased, renovated and came with no documentation.

I read the FAQ here - say

"The"rocket"can connect to the computer in 2 different modes, these are:

1 MSC: In this mode the computer will recognize the "rocket" as a mass, such as a flash drive or external storage device. It should appear in the Windows Explorer as the next available drive. When you have a microSD card in the "rocket", it will appear as a separate disk then.

2 PSG: in this mode, Windows will recognize the "rocket" as a 'portable '. »

While I do not know what MTP mode is, or why I would need it and do not know if maybe the Sansa IS now connected in MTP mode,

It seems to me that what I want is MSC mode. ;-).

    Here's what I've tried:

Just an addendum to my own message:

I read somewhere that if you turn off the Sansa (menu button in) and there on which I could get into the settings menu and and change mode USB, Meteorological Service of the Canada.  I did it. When I return in the settings and doublecheck it seems indeed to show that it is now the MSC parameter.

Then, I, optimistic feeling that this should do it, plugged the Sansa to the USB port on the PC.

But I don't have the same screen on the Sansa connected SAYING, all do not see it in my computer.

And, unlike I expected/hoped, the PC doesn't beep and say "found the new mass storage device" or something like that.

I also tried on the PC, go to computer/manage/DiskManagement to see if I could see the Sansa from there, but management drive just repeat myself "Connect to logical disk management service" and not showing any of my drives even after that I disconnect the Sansa. This isn't his normal behavior, so I wonder if my PC plug the Sansa has thrown a curve ball.

I saw also a trick that has proposed will in adding new hardware and try to manually install the Sansa,

but then I go into that systematic (in Control Panel of course) I get the message

"You can install a device at a time. Another device installation is underway... »

And I get that if the Sansa is connected or not.

I'm afraid that somehow the first/first attempts to plug the Sansa has my PC some low countries

at halfway in a facility of the MTP device.

    Any ideas?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Alex

PS Being new here, I don't know if if someone posts a response the system will send me an email telling me so.

If NOT, and if you answer you would kind enough to shoot a note to t * e * m * p * [email protected] (without the * in there) so I know that someone has replied, that would be great.

    Hey thanks!

It turns out that here, it's what the thing was in MY case:

After putting the Sansa MSC mode, I just had to restart my PC to get out of the weird mode he hung himself apparently while trying to install the Sansa earlier as a MTP device (and failing to do so.)

After reboot I plugged the Sansa and the computer as expected, said Found new mass storage device.

Now, I can easily drag and drop files back and forth between the Sansa and the PC. ;-)

But, perhaps you can (if it is not too much time) find out about a few points:

TWO discs appeared in the computer with the Sansa plug in. (E) has all the goodies/files that are on the Sansa.

Others (f) seems to be a device with no media in it. Is there a place where you can plug a sort of flash memory card, which is perhaps what would be in the F the Sansa?

When if ever will I miss (or want) the MTP mode? (A link explaining that would do).

My Sansa seems to have a few music files already on it. Is this kind of thing sample that ships with all the remains or the Sansas because I buy a refurbished?

    And:

How can I check if my Sansa has the latest firmware, and if not you'd updated?

(In general, I am of the "if it isn't broken don't fix this too school.")

    Alex

  • Sansa View does not synchronize with the computer after the first connection

    Hey guys,.

I just bought a refurbished Sansa View which has the latest firmware on it. I logged on to the computer and selected "view in the folder. I downloaded some stuff and disconnected.

Now, whenever I try to connect it again, the computer or the Sansa Connect. The Sansa start loading, but the 'Sync' screen does not appear on it. The computer shows nothing and the device does not appear in Device Manager or my computer as it did the first time. If I look through the USB devices in Device Manager I see a device using the power, but that's all.

I tried the "MSC Mode" setting in the Sansa View settings, but it is not always connect. Don't hold.<" while="">

    I use Windows XP, SP3.

Any help would be really appreciated,

    Thank you

Nevermind, apparently, you need to do to reset once changed the settings in MSC mode on the player. It works fine now!

  • Connect with other Sansa Sansa

I have possible reading of this ir to connect two Sansa and transfer songs, pictures, is this true?

Lol even when the Sansa Connect had their full WiFi capabilities (compared to the limited series that I told you about in your last thread), they were not able to communicate directly with each other, only to see what Yahoo 'friends' have been listening to or recommend through Yahoo servers.

As I mentioned earlier, the Sansa Connect can now ONLY receive audio streams Launchcast and see photos from Flickr.
