P2V conversion failed

Hello, I'm under VMconverter 5.5, I'm trying to convert Windows server 2 K 3 server R2 Enterprise Edition, and I received a failure at 96% (so close). The failure, I got was FAILED: an error occurred during conversion:"converter.fault.FileIOFault". It was the 3rd disk cloning, I wonder if someone can help me understand where the issue is so I can start another conversion again. Attached are the logs.

    Do a Google search on your error. You will find several suggestions to try as verification of SSH, using IP instead of names of hosts, check /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny, network, firewall etc.

    I joined the server agent and the worker log files.  I am using vCenter Converter Standalone 4.3 (Win7 x 86) and ESXi 4.1.0 and conversion from a distance.

    The only thing I've changed is the NIC, and I assigned an IP address using the virtual machine and set the DNS suffixes.  Drives, memory and processors are that they are on the physical machine.  The server that hosts ESXi has the hardware to support.

    I have the physical ability to su to root.  In the converter - converter - Worker.xml and agent.xml files, I put useSudo and useSourcePasswordInHelperVm to true.  I tried enabling root SSH and conversion of the machine, but I still end up with the above error.

    I checked for if make sure that time is located on the linux machine as the machine virtual host machine (I found a thread indicating that it was someone else).  I also checked the xml files above for keepSparseFile that is set to true by default.

    I tried Googling how to install agent converter on the Linux box itself and execution of the conversion from there, but I guess that an agent has not been yet developed.  I found where someone has started a petition. If there is another way around him, please let me know.  I'm willing to try anything.

  • Catalog items 14 (from PSE 3) conversion failed

    I was unable to properly convert my PSE3 catalog to PSE14.  I went through all the possible solutions in the knowledge base, and I still cannot get lucky.

    My PSE3 catalog resides on a windows XP computer and I try to move it on a 64-bit Windows 10 with PSE 14 computer.  With my last attempt, I followed the instructions in the article titled "convert organiser for 64-bit versions catalogs / Photoshop Elements 13 or later.

    I saved the PSE3 catalog to a hard drive.  I restored the PSE 14 catalogue.  It seems to work fine until the failure of the conversion notice.

    I used the catalog Conversion utility to convert the catalog to a catalogue of .pse13db.  He also appeared to work properly.

    During the conversion of a catalogue of PSE14, he went to 37% complete and continuous fast conversion for awhile without the % (he continued to display the names of files that have been conversion) back, and then I got the standard error message.  I checked the log by following the instructions, and that's what it contained:

    Conversion log: began the conversion of D:/media/photos to C:/ProgramData/Adobe/Elements Organizer/catalogs/photos

    copy the entire catalog directory...

    error: D:/media/photo copy failed, abandonment

    catalog copy failed

    Conversion log: Conversion failed

    It is the newspaper.  I do not know how to do this, because I think I tried everything in the KB and that I could find in the forums.

    You have followed the instructions:

    Convert catalogues organiser for 64-bit versions. Photoshop Elements 13 or later version

    Have you downloaded the PSE13 version as requires it?

    7. at the end of the conversion process, the .pse13db file and the cache of miniatures are available in the specified destination folder.

    8 launch organizing elements, choose file > manage catalogs > choose location custom, and then click file > manage catalogs > repair/Optimize.

    Note:

    If the conversion fails, open your catalog of the version of the elements organizer that it was created in, and then click file > manage catalogs > repair/Optimize.

    If you have installed the trial version 13, you can check the catalogue with the "catalog.pse13db" file is working, and you can use it to repair/Optimize before using version 14 of the convert.

  • P2V Conversion error (ignored Socket)-

    Nice day!

    I would like to ask for help with the issue, I met with my first try of P2V Conversion with a Server Live (RHEL4) with SAP, I used version 5.5 of ESXi.

    Please see attachment for summarized error encountered.

    Nice day

    It is usually advisable to attach the beam of any newspaper. Usually the server log contains no interesting information. In this case however the original error has been adopted if something can be seen.

    I would recommend you stop all the essential services (especially Oracle) before the conversion, and then try again. Converter uses cloning with 'tar' to the file level. Even if the conversion itself was successful, you'd have incompatible application files if the services were running in this.

  • Conversion failed... Solution, anyone?

    I use Microsoft Excel A LOT. I created a logo for my company (that's all I have) and saved as PNG, as most printers require for this format. However, the printer I use asked I have save the drawing in PDF format. I needed to convert these drawings from PDF to Excel to make changes, (change the color of the logo for different labels, etc.). I was told to buy Adobe export in PDF format. Yes, I did. However when I tried to convert a pdf to excel I kept getting a "conversion failed". I started a 'chat' and told to use a different browser. Yes, I did. (I also emptied my cookies). The two did nothing, as always, I got the same msg to failure. If I bought Adobe Illustrator, would I be able to use it on my excel Drawings, I created? And I can use this on images I've saved in PDF format?

    Since you have the logo in PNG format, you can download the file in a reply message using the camera icon in the web interface of the forum?

    Do not attach a file to an e-mail if you use email to follow this thread, it won't work.

    What people are saying is that you can place the PNG file in a new Illustrator document to use as a template and RECREATE your logo using the vector tools in Illustrator.

    Then save it to the file format that retains the vectors and can be placed in Excel. (remove the PNG file in the illustrator document when you have re-created the logo, you want only the vector logo)

    You can then open your Excel file and delete the PNG and replace it with the new vector logo. You can then create a PDF file from the Excel file for the printer.

    If you need to change the logo at any time, open the vector logo in Illustrator and save it as a new version with a different name, so that it does not replace your original vector logo.

    Reopen your Excel files and replace them with the new vector logo. You don't want to try to replace the logo in PDF files, revert to the original Excel files, replace the logo and create a new PDF.

    Also, you don't want to put the Excel Illustrator PDF file because you only need the logo.

    And especially you IMPOSSIBLE to save any file in Illustrator as a Excel file!

    This is not how things work.

  • The conversion failed 13-14 PES PES catalog

    I can't convert Photoshop elements Photoshop elements 14 13 catalogues.  the last entry of PSE-conversion-log is: an error occurred in the SQLite database: cannot open database file.  The conversion failed.

    I was finally able to convert my 13 catalogues PES to PES 14.  I don't know what action solved my problem but I changed a number of things.  First of all, I had installed 14 first PES at the same time as the installation of 14 pse above all catalogues have been loaded but had not opened first.  I opened the first with the catalog that I had managed to convert previously.  I left the first and rebooted my computer.  Secondly, I opened the pse 14 Organizer and deselected the option of automatic facial recognition in preferences > media analysis.  Catalogue conversion completed successfully this time.

    Thank you for your help.  I think that my problem is now solved.

  • Blue screen after the work of completely P2V conversion completed

    Hi all

    I have try the P2V of Powered - on Windows XP conversion.

    The conversion work was finished with the status "completely."

    However, after that, when I try to power on the target of the Win XP on ESXi machine, the machine displays the blue screen and does not start.

    If there is a way to solve this problem, would you please let me know?

    [more info]

    1.

    I chose the installation of vmware tools option in the conversion with VMware Converer autonomous steps.

    However, it was not installed in the target machine Win XP on ESXi.

    2.

    In this Windows XP P2V conversion, I can always find a certain caveat on the sysprep file in Converter Wizard.

    The warning is "Impossible to locate the necessary Sysprep files."

    Due to the expiration of the period of support for Microsoft's Windows XP, I can't do anything about this warning.

    The default disk for XP controller is BusLogic, specially for 32-bit Windows. It might work with LSI Logic, too but with SAS - hardly.

    The warning of sysprep is on the customization steps. If you do not it - ignore it.

    In regards to the VMware tools - you can install later vsphere client, after fixing the boot

  • P2V conversion and snapshot

    Hello

    I found the below on one site. Can someone please clarify?

    Q. What are the parameters that are taken into consideration when we initiate a snapshot?
    SNA. Configuration of the virtual machine (what hardware is attached to it)
    Status of the virtual hard disk file (back if necessary)
    The memory state of the Virtual Machine (if it is under tension)

    Could you please develop meanings?

    Q. What are the requirements to convert a physical machine into a virtual machine?
    SNA.  An agent must be installed on the physical machine
    VI client must be installed with plug converter
    A server to import/export virtual machines

    (What agent)

    (Where the VI client must be installed and what is converter plugin)

    (Please specify)

    Answer to Q1:

    on the application of a snapshot is to be able to return to exactly the State of the virtual machine in which the snapshot was created. In order to do this, all the (content of the disc, memory,...) must be restored. One of the reasons to come back to a snapshot may be an update that did not work as expected.

    Answer to Q2:

    P2V installs the converter on the source machine agent.

    The Client Plugin is no longer necessary. It was part of the vCenter Converter Server which was provided as a plugin for vCenter Server. With vSpehre 5 the converter is not supplied with vCenter Server, but provided as a separate application.

    For a P2V conversion, it demanded to have a source and a target to which the source machine is converted as a virtual machine.

    Hi sdr2014,

    I'm sorry to hear that your conversion process is at a standstill. It seems that the problem is not specific to a single file, you have been unable to convert anything, since the first four chapters of a correct conversion.

    So, let's try this:

    If you want to convert via the ExportPDF site, please sign out, clear the browser cache, and then reconnect. If you use the drive, please choose Help > updates to ensure that you have installed the latest version.

    Please let us know how it goes.

    I build a script to export data in a table to an xml file. After that, I came across this error: ORA-31061 XDB-error: special tank tank escaped conversion failed.

    I have reduced the problem in 1 column and now knows that this query will trigger the problem:

    clearly, there are some lastname in the array that contains some sort of bad character. The table contains 24,000,000 customers.
    Is it possible to know what record (or records) are the cause of the problem?

    Oracle recommends to use Unicode (AL32UTF8) as the database character set. Anyway, I'm still not sure that the problem is necessarily tied to the character set. So, as you suggest, it might be useful to have the list of family names is generating the error.

    You can try something similar to the following:

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE names_ty IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(50)
    /

    CREATE TABLE bad_names(lastname VARCHAR2(50) NOT NULL);

    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE logBadName(p_name VARCHAR2)
    AUTHID CURRENT_USER
    IS
        PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION;
    BEGIN
        INSERT INTO bad_names(lastname) VALUES(p_name);
        COMMIT;
    END logBadName;
    /
    SHOW ERRORS;

    DECLARE
        customersNames   names_ty := names_ty();

        BAD_NAME_EXCEPTION EXCEPTION;
        PRAGMA EXCEPTION_INIT(BAD_NAME_EXCEPTION, -31061);

        xmlInfo     XMLTYPE;
        idx         PLS_INTEGER;
        lastName    VARCHAR2(50);
    BEGIN
        SELECT lastname
        BULK COLLECT INTO customersNames
        FROM customer;

        idx := customersNames.FIRST;
        WHILE idx IS NOT NULL LOOP

            lastName := customersNames(idx);

            BEGIN
                SELECT XMLElement("name", lastName)
                INTO xmlInfo
                FROM dual;

                EXCEPTION
                    WHEN BAD_NAME_EXCEPTION THEN
                        logBadName(p_name=>lastName);
            END;

            idx := customersNames.NEXT(idx);
        END LOOP;
    END;
    /

    And finally the rows in the bad_names table will give you the information you're looking for.

    I hope this can help you.

  • P2V conversion where the Source is on the remote network?

    Hi all

    I am new to this forum and a little new for VSphere 4.

    My company offers off-site data protection and storage services, and has recently begun branching out in recovery of virtual network. In a Word, virtualize us network services essential to the customer on our ESX 4.0 host servers and make them available for access secure site-level disaster. Until recently we have used a re-usable restore starting from active state backups online system on servers as our means of conversion model VM P2V. It worked pretty well with one notable exception - a Windows SBS 2003 server.

    As a work around the BMR virtual conversion, we would like to perform a 'traditional' system P2V conversion. The challenge? The source system is physically located miles on the customer's network.

    So far, we have installed the VMWare Converter Stand alone on the source system (stand alone seems to be something wrong to get the VMWare Infrastructure compatible conversion, you must communicate with the destination ESX Server) and open the necessary ports on our firewall to allow communications with our ESX Server. Everything seems to work properly; However, the destination for the new VMDK cannot be the ESX Server. Since we need all volumes on that server to be cloned, the resulting 200 GB of a value of data transferred over the network will make this process impractical.

    How can convert us this system to a virtual machine that is:

    1. written on a removable unit attached locally for transportation later and later import to our host server VSphere ESX 4.

    2. compatible with VSphere ESX 4.0.1

    Hope for an answer or a 'trick '.

    Some of the VMware machines are available as files of the FVO. If you go into the file menu of the vSphere client you will see "Deploy OVF model". Who can be a URL. I'll see if I can find a deployable unit of the FVO and post the link.
