P6 - 2317c: screen stays black

I created this problem myself and I am now trying to fix.

It all started with the Player DVD does not. Reading on several different patches, try most with no results, I came across one that tells you to delete the two registry keys, which is the upper and lower limit for the CD-ROM/dvd-rom. After trying all the others with no results, I took it, and of course I deleted the wrong key.

After the reboot, I have a black screen. Given that my dvd drive does not work I can not run the disks on the windows cd or recovery.

Looking for advice on how to try to fix this problem without having to install the new HD. Feel that perhaps this is my only option.

Thanks in advance.

• Laptop screen stays black with the mouse cursor only after that comes the HP and Windows logo

Hi all

No, my laptop model is HP Pavilion dv6 1337tx. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. So, today, I shut my laptop down by force by pressing the power button because it did not at this time. Then the next time I turned it the wrong problem started. Whenever I'm on the HP logo sometimes and then the Windows logo comes also. But then the screen stays black and the mouse cursor appears. So, what can be the cause of this problem? I also tried to open with 'safe mode' and 'safe mode with command prompt', but they did not help either.

Note - I tried the method of discharge after taking off the battery and holding down the power button. He could not help. All LEDS are working properly. I have no extra monitor, so I can't check the display elsewhere. Also, I ran the memory test which shows that everything is fine. Please suggest what I can do now as I can not enter the laptop now. What can be the reason?

After turning on the computer, the screen stays black

It could be that your video settings have been set to a resolution that your monitor does not support.

You can start mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key during startup key) safe? Safe mode requires a video resolution supported by all monitors. If it works, try to change your video resolution settings
(Control Panel-> display-> (tab) settings.

• Satellite L10-333: screen stays black, until I hit the edge of the screen

I have a Satellite L10-333, which is about 3 years old, it has suddenly started having screen problems.
It started with a white screen instead of the normal and a black line all downstairs in the middle.

Now when I turn on the pc, the screen remains black and dead until I hit the edge of the screen and when the screen comes alive, I must hold and press part of the cover, so that the display stays on...

Anyone know what's the problem?
I thought it might be a loose wire or connection.
Someone else has or had this problem?

Thanks for your help...

I agree with you. It must be a contact problem. In my opinion, it is not important if anyone else has this problem too and you have to find the solution as soon as possible.
The laptop must be disassembled and check the connection of the screen. Now the question is what to do. Can you check it alone or you need professional help?

• Satellite L500-1XL - does boot and the screen stays black

Hello

I have a Satellite L500-1XL, when I turn it on the fan and lights and the hard drive light blinks several times then nothing, he's not going to the Toshiba screen remains black screen, tried ext monitor but still nothing.

The fan always runs very quietly and the hard drive is running in, I put the hard drive in an another L500 and it is very good and can be accessed without problem, it has only 1 stick of 2 GB of RAM DDR3 and the other L500 I is DDR2 so I can't try to change the RAM. If I remove the ram should it beep or does only desktop computers do this? Mine does nothing when it is removed.

Any help would be very useful, thank you!

Hi gazzdowzell,

If your laptop doesn t boot it seems to be a hardware bad working it could be everything, motherboard, BIOS, CPU, etc and it is difficult to say what exactly is the problem.

First of all, I would like to try this:
[What steps must be followed if your Toshiba laptop does not start? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=21]

If it doesn t work, please contact a service provider authorized in your country. If your laptop is under warranty, repairs are free.
In addition if you remove the RAM and the beep of t n for laptop, it seems to be another problem. If you have removed the RAM module would be defective, the computer would have a beep.

Good luck!

• Satellite 210CS - the screen stays black (even to an external monitor)

Dear Toshiba Forum members and guests.

Several months ago, I found an old laptop. When I turn it on, the screen remains black. And when I connect an external monitor to the laptop via the VGA input, two screens are black. I used a flashlight, pulled on the LCD screen of the laptop, but I don't see all the details on the screen.

I thought it was because of the empty RAM slots. This week, I bought a RAM-unit and installed.
I tried to start the laptop again, but nothing on the two screens (even though I used a flashlight).
I searched the Internet for certain solutions, but nothing works. I also tried updating the BIOS, found on the Web from Toshiba site.

Some information on the laptop:
Toshiba Satellite 210CS/1.3
PA1230E
48 MB RAM
1.3 GB HARD DRIVE

Date of manufacture: 4 ^ th ^ October 1997

If you want more information or you would like more information, please put a comment in this thread.

I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

I think there must be some serious hardware problem.
I don't think that someone will be able to tell what part exactly failures because it could be any inner part.
You buy the RAMs again. Well, in this case, we can exclude RAM problem, but there is probably a motherboard, CPU or a graphics card problem.

From my point of view of the few you don't have many options: perhaps you could found some other good treatments Satellite 210CS somewhere in the internet since it is not very easy to get parts for this oldie

• Satellite L500-1TC - does not start and the screen stays black

The picture freezes and it restarted. Given that I can push the power button on my laptop and the LED indicates that it is on, but the screen remains black.

(Sorry for my bad English)

Hey Buddy,

What you can try before you contact Toshiba official service is the following:

If it doesn t work it seems to be a hardware problem, then contact an authorized service provider. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair is free :)

• y510p screen stays black after waking up from standby or hibernation

Seems that since the latest graphics drivers NVIDIA update (I'm not 100% sure on this subject, but I think that this is the case), my screen remains black at being woken up from sleep or hibernation. I know it's on, and what is not a matter of the computer is slow, because it is not and even if it were, leaving for several minutes and it remains empty and the power button and keyboard and everything comes on and it starts to heat up to the top, so I know it's something. Hit the FN - F2 for the backlight does nothing, so I don't think that is the question. The only way to solve it is to hold down the power button / stop and reboot, which pisses me off because sometimes I have a large upward job and am forced to lose. Anyone else see this problem? Could it be related to new graphics drivers, or is this something worse and related material? My screen looks OK when it comes to everything else.

Thank you!

Well everyone, I think I 'solved' the problem. The latest NVIDIA drivers, I have installed the other day fixes the problem. I can sleep, hibernate, shut down, you call it without going through the screen lights up only not for the last day today. I can't say for sure, but I am sure that it was the matter of 99%. I appreciate the help nonetheless.

It off and then later tried to turn it back on, but now the screen is black, it doesn't start, he carnt access anything, its in black only, it says "none signed" on the screen but hes checked all the connections and everything is fine... hes running ' windows 7' on a Dongle.Do you think it as a VIRUS , or a firewall?

Hello

The computer looks like it is starting up? Future fires, making noises of boot and fans running?

Looks like the computer has a hardware problem and you need help from a real computer store (one
makes its own internal service and no leeks and display a Best Buy or other stores)
or support from the system manufacturer.

Remove ALL power and then reconnect the cables (at both ends, when possible)-, memory and cards.
in fact, remove and replace - don't do not just tight.

I hope this helps.

• Why my laptop screen stays black when I'm turning some time to connect to an electrical outlet?

I can turn on my laptop while operating on battery and see everything very well. He I have plug into AC power the screen goes black and I see nothing else that very small images.

Hello

I wish to inform you that, it seems to be a hardware problem. Then I suggest you to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

• HP61-322N R ~ screen stays black at startup with flashing lights (capslock & liked keypad)

I am pretty illiterate with a lot of the terminology, I am self-taught, so please dumb it down a bit.

My husband took my computer laptop yesterday outside to clean the fan (it was overheating to the point of burning to the touch and close several times a day, so I thought there would be a ball of hair there our dog, but not just a few thick layers of dust). We cleaned, kept track of everything pretty well, he promised that he put everything back as it was - he is experienced with disassembly macbooks and other laptops we have owned to clean the fans without problem. He has taken apart again for each connection was insured, but the question remains.

When we tried to turn it on, it sounds very well in what concerns the normal startup but the screen remains black and the caps lock light and a light on the number btwn keyboard end & pg key to blink slowly home.

I looked, but nobody seems to have this exact problem - I did unplug, remove the battery, put the power for 20 sec plug, then power on without battery- but which did not help of course.

I need a solution in order to save them on a hard drive and at least get a new laptop, as is the plan I had for months with this intense overheating problem. Has happened for at least two years or maybe even since we purchased in Nov 2009. Also, it seems absolutely crazy and stupid to block most of the fan with a speaker, among other things. His is no longer a mystery why I burned by this thing - seriously I could scramble the eggs with the HP thing.

If I can't get the screen for good work, I can handle this, but I need to connect it via hdmi on my TV as a last resort to save them on my hard drive until I have trash the pos.

OK, thanks for your help with flashing lights in codes, and although he was not really the key to this problem, I have solve my problem.

We finally got to work this morning

There had been flashes two times (several times) while the article says BIOS corruption - which does not make sense to me, but all of a sudden my husband thinks aloud that he may have changed the cards memory when assembling it back together.

The key here is that if you took it apart and the screen will start - you has NOT put it back together properly and you, as I, probably shouldn't be disassemble computers

Use your smart phone to take photos of each important step to dismantle everything.

Once he came back, he also realized that they were not completely locked into the slot so maybe it was they key and maybe it doesn't matter what order they were but try both the cards memory switch disconnected and reconnected the if you experience this problem.

Otherwise, follow the guides the person provided in their response. My problem was strictly material.

Good luck

Need to know why the stay of LCD in black and windows 8 did not come to the top. But the mouse is alive and can be moved.

Hi chioulienh,

It could be windows start in question. Please go through the following steps to solve the problem. If this isn't the case, then try to boot in safe mode. Then using restore windows systems restore to a date on which he was working. If still does not boot to windows, you contact Sony support at 888-476-6972 for support. Or can put the unit in a State factory. Put the new State of the factory will be delete or delete all data and files. Make sure that data backup before you go as long as the plant.
