P670, RAID 0, Win XP

Having trouble getting RAID 0 goes on Win XP. System and the BIOS SATA the two recognize the two discs. When I configure the BIOS off with RAID SYSTEM, XP installs without problem. To try to get the RAID 0's, I turn on THE system BIOS and then to configure the array in the bios SATA util. I chose the two drives for the array. I tried both what makes the array bootable and not with no luck. When I boot the XP installation CD, I press F6 and install the Dell-provided driver (CERC SATA 1.5/6 ch). Once I get to the part of choosing where install XP, XP Setup are not all disks, IOW does not recognize the table. What I am doing wrong? Thank you!

  • S100, driver RAID and Win XP

I just bought a S100. According to the company policy, I removed the pre-configured OS and added our own generation based on a disk from an earlier toshiba machine image. This procedure is usually simple and usually only requires that twist slightly to get the right drivers installed. With the S100 RAID drivers cause me a problem. Win XP does not see the disk hard by default in this machine and if you press F6 and provide the drivers from the floppy drive. If you do this, the drive is recognized and start installing XP, but a message will appear asking you for the Toshiba RAID driver a second time. For this second attempt XP does not seem to be able to read the disk A:\ more and so the installation can not continue. Has anyone seen this problem before, and if so, did you manage to solve it?

    Best regards, J.

    Hello John

The Toshiba RAID driver must be added during the installation, when prompt to 'press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver.
To do this, download the Toshiba RAID driver from the Toshiba web page driver download and extract the zip to a disk file. Connect the floppy drive to your computer before starting the installation.
The Setup program continues until you are asked if you want to "S = specify additional device. Press' and specify the driver Toshiba Raid for XP or 2000 as required. Press 'Enter' to continue the installation.

When you use Windows Setup to partition or format the HARD drive, the RAID driver is deleted in the process. This causes the shot the next time that the machine start-up. To avoid this, do all the partitioning and formatting before you run the manual installation of Windows.

However, this behavior does not appear when you install Winxp Service Pack 2 integrated. It seems that the SP includes a hardware support. Always provide the RAID driver unpacked on the diskette, however.

I'm having a problem with the installation of a new SSD on my T5400. Ultimatly I want to load the operating system and all the software on the SSD and then install a 2nd hard drive SSD of same type and size to store my files.

    My specific situation is:

Previously a poweredge 6 / i sas card scsi perc 6 with the installation of 500 GB HD (2) RAID 0, Win 7 pro 64 bit.

I removed the adapter perc 6 and installed a new Samsung 850 Evo 500 gb SSD on sata 0 position. I'm trying to do a fresh reload of the OS on the SSD with the bios (Version 11) set to Raid Autodetect/AHCI selected.

During the installation of windows, it does not see the SSD and seeks pilots continue. I tried to find the appropriate drivers on the website of dell for my system and the unziped NautilusDOSA48_ZPE, put on a USB key. He looked for a driver, but windows has returned a message 'no driver signed found. Of note is that I was able to remove my other format of the underdisk of configuration management and create a simple volume on disk.

    Issues related to the:

Is the withdrawal of the RAID card affecting the installation, was it the previous series of drivers that I seem to be missing? If so how can I work around this?

Leaves the RAID card to and not connected to the drive or connect to the card and a raid configuration, a configuration option 'no '? If so is it a good idea?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Todd,

    Thanks for your reply.

I currently have the readers installed and running on my system

In response to your answer, yes Bios A11 had been installed for more than a year, removed the card activated before installing the SSD raid and AHCI.

The question, it turns out that was a simple, as I said after enabling the AHCI I thought that ports 0 and 1 auto detects new readers, they do not have. Once I have manually configured ports on in the Bios, the system recognizes the new SSD and they work now.

  • Z220 CMT: firmware Win 8 factory 7 and install new boot disks (RAID 1)

My Z220 came with the copy of Win 7 Pro/64-bit factory-loaded, lowered to win 8. The supplied HD is just a Seagate 500 MB to 6 MB/s SATA drive.

I want to change my boot disks for a pair of WD series RE 1 TB disks in a RAID1 configuration.

The 220 came with a series of restore disks: disks of recovery system 1,2 and 3 for Win 7 and a DVD of recovery Driver for WIn7 and WIn8, as long as the DVD of the operating system - Windows 8 Pro.

So, if I install the pair of RAID array using the Intel RAID software, can I then use CD Win7 game to restore the Win7 system to the new RAID array? Is there a potential problem of activation here?

My other idea was to use Clonezilla to clone the current Win7 system on the RAID array, but I don't know if it will work, as the discs in question are not the same...

If you look at your partitions on the disk HP of the computer/manage/storage/disk management you should see a hidden partition which you can draw the active OS itself and also to make an installation USB or CD/DVD set.  But you already have those in hand, I believe.

The restore thing can be confusing.  What I would do, is get a stunt or set of disks drive and start experimenting.  One of the disks is an "Activator" disc which you start with, and it gives you instructions as you go along with a clean installation, including installation RAID or simple installation on hard/SSD options.  Just keep your 500 GB out of the workstation and work with the readers of stunt.  For those, I liked the 80 GB WD Velociraptors... two correspondent off eBay are cheap, and they are quick to reformat/load/erase.  It will start to make sense fairly quickly.  For RAID works, you can experiment on 2 160 GB drives, but a full install of W7 with Office 2007 is less than 45 GB.  You just start from this first optical disc and start digging.

The thing about the COA... When you perform a clean discs HP restore, as if your HP hard drive has failed, the process puts on a HP OEM COA serial number that is different from what is on your COA sticker.  For example, you can clone a facility and it will work on an another Z220 CMT without activation.  It checks only the BIOS of the workstation to make sure that it is a legal installation.  If you try the same thing with a W7Pro64 OEM System Builder build the clone will work but will recognize that this isn't the same job that it has been installed on original and you give a few days to feed another series of COA number.

A clone must come from the installation of restore HP OEM with the internal controls of HP and OEM HP serial number to make it work on another box without activation problems.  Stick to right side of things and you'll be fine.

  • Dell Inspiron 1721 Win 7 ultimate upgrade on Vista ultimate. ATI Raid driver problems.

I install Win 7 Ultimate on Windows Vista Ultimate Edition for my sister.  Although I am appalled by his duty to pay 200 more of the money it has paid to buy Vista Ultimate (for which she won Bitlocker and the possibility to join the areas, I have the following problem: she has a lot to gain a little and there are still problems in the installation of the OS.)  It would be good, at least, since it paid the price to have copies of the disks him were sent and more download (which I work with)

I am trying to install the upgrade from 32-bit to Windows 7 on my laptop Dell Inspiron 1721 and I get an error that says I need to update my ATI AHCI Compatible RAID Driver. I went into the device drivers update as described in the instructions and tried to update the driver but it says I have the latest version of the driver for it. So I tried to restart my laptop and represented the upgrade installation and received the same error message.

Can you advise me on how to solve the problem.  She has spent a lot of money and, at least, deserves to make it work!

  • Install Win 7 in Raid

    Hello

I am a newbie here so if I do noob errors please forgive me.

I have the XPS 8500 with 32 GB msata mb disk cache. Win 7 is the original OS. My HARD drive is dead and when I went to to replace I couldn't get Win7 to install. The only way that finally worked was ACHI RAID. The problem is that Intel RST doesn't seem to work in this configuration.

I am not very familiar with the Bios settings, I so reset the Bios factory and started from there. I have to do something else besides just changing ACHI to RAID? Band adjustment? Do I need to have a driver to install during the installation of Windows 7? If Yes, where can I find? I searched the net with no joy.

If there is no instructions step by step or anyone can guide me through it, I would be extremely grateful. Two days on this now...

Thank you very much for the help. While the driver you suggested did not work, I was able to solve my problem using the advice I found on the internet.

I found a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium w/SP1. I was able to load this version in a RAID configuration and it works beautifully. Once the operating system has been loaded, I went to Dell.com for drivers and utilities. One of them was the Intel RST. My computer now uses the ssd cache to speed up. He is back to normal.

PS, I tried to load the operating system directly on the ssd of 32 GB. An error pops up saying that it was too small, that requires 33 GB +.

Thank you for your help. I learned a lot from reading the links you have provided.

  • DELL PowerEdge R710 and PERC H700 RAID driver for WIn 2008 Std

    Hi all

    I have a DELL PowerEdge R710 with a controller RAID PERC H700.

I try to install Windows 2008 Std 64 bit, but I can't find the driver. Even for the site web at support.dell.com. Can someone help me.

    THX in advance

Even if you use a driver of 2008, it should at least recognize it, then you must be using the wrong driver or something wrong :)

If you are installing 2008 R2, make sure that you use this file:

If you install 2008 x 64, make sure that you use this file:

With one, you must first unlock the .exe (right click on the .exe, properties, unlock), unzip / extract the files (run it and make a note of the default location), and then copy the 4 files on a CD, USB, etc., then when Windows tells you that he is not all hard disks, click on the link drivers load below to load the drivers from the media you have chosen.

  • Install windows on mac pro (early 2008) in other SSDS with RAID card

Guys, good evening to all the same time.

I get out of this crazy short, I ask humbly help.

    I explain my problem:

I have a Mac Pro (early 2008), with RAID CARD MEDIA

He does not then I "gave" to my mother who must use windows for work.

I'm out all 4 disks in RAID installed and mounted 2 - SSD OCZ Agility 256 GB.

one of them is installed OSX Yosemite. on the other hand, I want to install WINDOWS.

    and here the problems begin:

When I insert the win8.1 to proceed installation standard dvd (EFI not talked since the beginning of 2008), I get, when I have to decide on which disk to install and format windows, does not reveal the installed drives

After 2 days of tweaking, I was able to understand that this is a problem due to the RAID card installed, I also read that you just remove it and connect the SSD in one of the two doors empty ODDsata (and not in the 4 planned the raid card slots)

but still does not see the attached HDD / SSD, so keep trying and I think it's a driver problem and I need to install the AHCI driver, now, I'm pretty Nerd, but I still can't get.

Someone could want explain step by step what I need to do to install this * win on MacPro 8.1 designed for RAID card?

Thank you so much in advance.

  • Portege S100 - reinstall Windows XP using F6 and RAID drivers

I have this announcement in the hope that it helps someone.

Well my hard drive is dead, so got a replacement one. I'm not so innocently, I thought that, just down load the drivers from the website of the original dvd.
So did all of this and the raid has yet to see! Changed the settins to raid in the bios that you get by pressing ESC, then the default values, restart and go back into bios goto page 3 - which is so visible. Make sure that the disc is set to1raid0 - download the manual, but you must agree to any change in typing 1234 when it asks for a string from the manual. Anyway did all that - still no visible drive - so which continues.

Well apparently there are 2 sets of pilots kr10n and kr10i - that givesyou site is kr10n drivers. That may work for the most recent, but not mine! My laptop needs the kr10i which I can't find on the site tosiba. BUT http://download.cnet.com/raid-drv-20070719134547-zip/3000-18492_4-174094.html or you can google for raid-drv-20070719134547

The steps for me were so use nlite to add the drivers of kr10i on a WinXP SP3 patched cd and start using that. It was work related.

After that, everything went great! Well, I didn't have much hair initially, but even less after having finished the process.

    Good luck
