Pagefile on 2 discs - what size on each disc?

Hello

I have four cache 11/SATA disks 7200 tr/min/64 MB in my XP Pro 32 bit system and intend to put the pagefile at the beginning of both of them. What size the two must - there are 4 GB of DDR3 RAM installed?

Kind regards

you only need a swap file, that is, the virtual memory of the system.

Since you have multiple hard disks, you can place it on one disk other than the system partition.

regarding its size, you have lots of RAM installed.   Therefore, it is unlikely that your swap file will be widely used.

my suggestion is to make a custom 2 (min) and 1152 (max) size.   If in the future, you get a memory low message, then increase the max of an increment of 500 MB.

also, look at the recommended sizes your windows posted at the bottom half of the virtual memory Control Panel.  Make sure not to exceed the maximum size.

Finally, if you plan to use a graphic software that will create a "scratch disk", then don't forget to configure the drives to work to use one drive other than that is where the system files and swap file are found on.

I was wondering if anyone knows the maximum size of the hard drive I can install it, and what should I look for when you buy one?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I think that the L40 supports disk HARD 2.5 SATA and he s not what size HARD drive is important.
The laptop must manage each 2.5 SATA HDD.
500 GB 2.5 HDD is currently the largest on the market, but in the next time you will find the 2.5 SATA HDD that supports 1 TB (1000 GB).

  • Windows 7 creates a RECOVERY PARTITION? __Si Yes, what size?

Windows 7 creates a RECOVERY PARTITION?
    If so, what size?

Yes, it creates a 200 MB recovery partition:
This is for the Windows recovery environment (WinRE), also supplied with Windows Vista, only it has been available from the Windows Vista installation disc only, although some manufacturers make available on a partition separated on their factory facilities. In Windows 7, this feature is installed on all computers and is stored in the 200 MB partition if you are installing using a single partition scheme. However, if you are installing to a drive that has more than one partition, the recovery environment is stored in a folder at the root of your installation disc, so if you install to a partition with a label of C:\ she will be C:\Recovery.

To access the system recovery environment in Windows 7, simply start your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system. Press the [F8] key function 8 on your keyboard which will launch the menu Advanced Boot Options. You will see a new option "Repair your computer", select this option and press 'Enter' on your keyboard.

  • What size an ssd do I need?

I propose to use a ssd as my first drive with windows 7/8 pro, Adobe cc and MS office on a PC. I thought I'd then use disk HARD standard for the storage of files, etc.

What size SSD is necessary to be safe?

I personally thing 128 GB would be enough if you use an external drive for data. Estimate the 2 GB for each application.

However if you can afford 256Go, it doesn't hurt to 'future proof '.

  • What size leads on vmware host

    Hello world

If we use iscsi SAN and Vsphere 4 and I'd like to add a host 3rd in our infrastructure, what size of the disks SAS should we buy.

The other 2 hosts are HP DL 365 G5 with disks SAS 4 x 150 GB in raid 5 with 32 GB of ram each.

I think that when we built, we have too many spec'd HDDs in terms of capacity for guests.

I have undedstand that they would only be used for swap for vmware esxi space 4 OS as all virtual machines are anyway on the san.

So, can we just buy the SAS drives more little ones who are made?

    Thank you!!

  • What size of database can support ten times to the maximum?

    Masters.

What size of database arguably ten times now? or just varies according to the size of the physical memory?

I saw just ten times online docs, but I found no valuable index.

could you please guide me in the right direction.

    Thank you

As Jeremy mentioned, there is no built-in limit on the overall database size. It's really dependent on the material, mainly the memory capacity and the drive capacity/performance. We have at least a data store > 1 TB deployed in production, but encountered the most common size is in the 10s of GB range with a few in the 100s of the GB range.

The main challenge with very large databases in memory are some of the management, before any startup/recovery operations, stop and, if you use replication, duplicate. These can take a long time to complete, even with good discs.

For example, consider a 1 TB (1024 GB, 1 048 576 MB) data store running on a disk system RAID-0 that can maintain 100 MB/s sequential transfer rate (a midrange disk subsystem). In this case a clean boot (without recovery) will take at least 1048576 / 100 seconds = 10 486 seconds = 175 minutes = 2 hours and 55 minutes. for example, it will take nearly 3 hours to bring up the data store. If the recovery is necessary 9e.g. after a failure), then it will take more time. In a replicated environment a double operation speed may well be limited by the network (depending on the type of local network) and so a duplicate of this data store could easily take longer than 3 hours in certain circumstances (but using the--compress option and a high bandwidth LAN will help compensate for that).

  • Portege 7100 - what size HARD drive it does support?

    Hello

my old man (I'm a student, so no money for a new) Portege 7100 (ct) has a small hard drive, so I want to shift to a bigger... but what size HARD drive supports the 7100ct? (and that's a 1.8 "or can I use drives 2.5"?)

    thx for any help...

    Hello

As far as I know that your unit has standard 2.5 "hard drive. Unfortunately there is no public record of such information. Accurate information, you can get that from accredited service partner or even some HARD drive supplier.
In my opinion, your device must be able to manage with maximum up to 8 or 10 GB HARD drive. For me, we know that some offering it can manipulate the BIOS with special tools and after that BIOS recognize a much larger capacity HARD drive.

Try to pick up some information on the net service partner or call your country. I believe that consultation service is free.

  • HP Envy 17 t: what size usb drive is necessary for the recovery of HP Envy 17 t 10 (64-bit) Windows?

I just installed my HP Envy and wanted to set up a recovery disk.  The USB key must be less than 32gigs, but the example has not been updated for Windows 10 the instructions say.  It shows a recovery screen for a laptop of Win8 with the source of recovery like 17 concerts.   Is there a way to check the requirements for the front to accept the HP one time recovery option.  I have a new 16 GB USB key and wanted to make sure that it is large enough.

Also do a backup image to DVD?   If so, how many DVDs?   The laptop is new and I added only Chrome and some minor programs.  My data files are always on an external hard drive.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

To be honest, I don't know what size will be that these recovery files are because they can vary from the version of Windows to another. They can vary from a model.

In my opinion, 16 GB is probably not enough.

DVDs are usually 6 (6x4.7 GB = about 28 GB) but this can vary from one model.

This possibility of imbedding maybe once, there are other ways that you can save your system indefinitely.

This is a free option included in all windows (creating system image, it's free as included in Vista from the outset).

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03544793

However, this option requires (e.g. USB HDD) external HARD disk or DVD. It does not work with USB flash drives.

  • Satellite M40X-189 - replace HARD disk - what size should I go to?

Hi, I have a SATELLITE M40X-189, I would like to replace the hard drive and would like if possible some recommendations!
I know I need an ide/pata and I currently have a hard disk of 40 GB hitachi 5400 rpm installed. The memory is just what came installed originally, (512 MB, no upgrade).

So what size I can up to?
I have a lot of music/photos and video to change so must also size decent 80 GB would be enough?
I really don't use it for anything other than that, and also the navigation on the internet. Although I often have a few programs running at the same time which causes problems... freeze, (in particular I tunes) and generally slow running.

I'm confident on the physical replacement, and I know how to clone my old drive hard etc, but just need some info about the size and speed and if possible
a recommendation of the manufacturer. Just worried about incompatibility really issues.

Also, if you think I should install more memory, which size and make and model may recommend.

    Thank you in advance!

    Denise.

    Hi mate

First he must know that this question have been posted a lot of time in the forum.
If you want to use the search option, then you will find this thread for example:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=68287

Is the M40X series supports the IDE controller and I think that you need a 2.5 IDE HDD.
The old ide controllers are limited to 128 GB with 28-bit LBA
However, you can take an 80 GB or 120 GB HARD drive and it should work fine

    Welcome them

I want to install windows on my new macbook and I need to create a partition. I have not now what size to make my windows partition. Can someone give me some advice?

    1. in what year is your Mac?

    2. What is the size of your storage internal?

    3. what version of Windows?

4 as a general rule 60-100 GB for W8 + / W10 is recommended. You can also create a minimum Windows (30-50 GB) and use an external drive D: for documents applications for portability.

  • HP S2031 20 "monitor I want to mount on the wall. What size screws to mount?

I have a monitor HP S2031 I want to mount on the wall.  What size screws I put in the monitor to attach it to the media.

    Thank you!

    Sandy59

The series of HP products that monitor your S2031 comes from States, "this monitor uses the compatible VESA 100 x 100 mm installation ports." This means that there should be 4 screw holes, square shaped, at the back of the monitor to 3-15/16 inch independently of the other. In the monitor screw holes should have metric threads ISO "M4" and are typically 10 mm deep. The appropriate screws (usually 10mm shorter or longer) are normally provided with the stand.

  • Determine the size of each Dimension of an array of 2D in TestStand

How can I determine the size of each dimension of an array of 2D in TestStand?  myArray.GetNumElements () refers to the TOTAL number of elements in the table (2D) and does not help me.  I need to iterate on a single dimension.

    Thank you

    Andrew

GetUpperBounds are but just not in this context. Try something like the following...

    Locals.MyDimensions = Locals.MyArray.Type.ArrayDimensions.GetUpperBounds)

Where Locals.MyArray represents the 2D table you want dimensions of and Locals.MyDimensions is a 1 d array to store the dimensions. Something like...

    Locals.MyArray.Type.ArrayDimensions.GetUpperBounds () [0]

... might work as well, this example returns the number of elements in the first dimension of Locals.MyArray.
