  • What is the brand and model of your computer?
  • What color is the USB port to which you connected the USB / parallel?

  I have a Panasonic kx-p2123 I've had for a while and it worked fine on my old systems op, I now have a computer win 7 that had no parallel port. so I bought a USB to parallel adapter cable, and who did not work at all.   I suggest you to uninstall the printer drivers and then use the driver file that you want to install by using the procedure - below

  a. click Start, click Control Panel , and search for printers , and then double-click Printers.
  b. now, click Add Printer.
  c. Select Add a local printer and click create a new port.
  d. Select Local Port and click Next.
  e. type in "[\\computer name\printer name]"(sans les guillemets) for the Port name and click OK. ""
  f. follow the instructions to complete the installation. During the installation, when you are prompted to choose a good driver; Click the "disk".
  g. navigate to the driver file that you have on the computer, and then click OK. Now, check if the printer is correctly installed.

• I can't install my 24pin Panasonic printer on my Dell laptop with windows 7.

  Problem solved by another question... I installed the printer as a local printer using the \\ip as the port address\printer and I could choose the Epson compatible printer driver.  Initially, I was installing the printer as a network printer.

  Look in the event viewer for errors that coincide with the date and time that the printer did not work.

  If the software has been installed and the printer worked, try the following:

  Start > type services.msc

  Press enter

  Scroll down to print spooler

  Right-click on the spooler and select stop

  Wait for Windows to stop the spooler

  Go to control panel > printers folder

  Right-click on the printer icon, then select open

  Do you see the documents listed in the print queue?

  Click file > cancel all Documents

  Start > right click on computer

  Select manage

  Click on continue in the UAC window

  Select Device Manager

  Click on the + sign next to Ieeee... compatible printer

  Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

  I had a CPU upgrade in order to use Windows 7.  I changed cable to make use of a USP port.  The printer turns on and lights, but does accept any print statement.  All of the current drivers have been downloaded and installed, but the printer still does not function/print.

  Is there something that I missed?

  If possible, install a card parallel port on your computer and use it. If you must use a converter, make sure that you choose one supports the printers. Not all do them.
