  I'm starting to use CSS to clean up my code. I have pages with drawn apart from stories of books on my web page, and I want the Dreamweaver pages to look more like the pages of the book. In other words, I want to first line indent layout to indicate new paragraphs rather than double (default) spaces to indicate new paragraphs. I can't get there. How can I do?   Set the Indent on what you should be using px, % or em.

  I am trying to create a paragraph of text and the dressing is not! I am creating a large text box, but the text disappears when it reaches the right edge of the box. any idea what the deal is? I know that I've been able to do before, but now can not. I closed the program & reopened, but no luck. Thank you!

  I could reset the text tool and see if that makes a difference.

  With the type tool selected in the Toolbox, click on the small triangle facing down and click Reset tool.

  

• Just another one of those hardcore Windows XP Boot problems...

  Problem summarized: when Windows starts normally loading: "Windows has not start because the following file is missing or damaged: '\system32\hal.dll" Please reinstall a copy of the above file.»  This was due to a damaged boot.ini file (it is without a doubt, don't give me alternatives, I know that's what it is)

  So I'll pass by exactly what is happening, or I can do when I choose options.  NOTE: I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO BOOT FROM WINDOWS CD!

  When I turn on my Avertec Netbook with Windows XP computer, the title screen appears, and if I press F2 here, I can access configuration CMOS.  Who has all the BIOS settings and allows me to choose the boot device, I still access all the settings here.

  If I let it continue, it goes to a screen that says "[F5] for HARD drive recovery," and I can also press F8 for advanced here options menu.  (If I let him go, he's going to where Windows would normally begin loading and displays the error message that I listed in the paragraph 'problem summary' at the top).  So if I press F8 and try one of these options, the same error message appears for all options,including the safe mode, can't get on it.

  Well, I solved the problem a bit.  I accidentally crossed a command "notepad.exe" as I was scrolling with TAB.  He opened a notebook here to restore HARD drive (which is apparently a feature of Vista on a computer made for XP...)  So what?  Well, in the open dialog box, I backed up my data just in case, via copy and paste, AND I found and open the boot.ini file and fixed!

  So now XP will begin to start again, but it still just freezes like before and loading never ends.  Looks like a much simpler problem now, I'll look again through the forums

• Problem in designing a custom field for the display of paragraph

  I need to develop a custom field that is supposed to act as a RichTextField with the additional of the hyperlink feature as seen in the web pages. I have a few paragraphs of text with an id associated with each of them. A paragraph may have link to another paragraph. I think that the hyperlink is actually like a button.

  My screen will consist of a single paragraph. If any hyperlink (id) in this paragraph is preesed then the screen reloads with another paragraph (id in a hurry).

  My problem is to develop a custom field for the display of this paragraph.

  Point: several lines of text without interruption. Some of the text may be bold, italic. a text can be the hyperlink.

  Now I'm stuck. I have no ideas how I can start with. Can someone give me please suggestions as to how I can start with?

  If you are using an ActiveRichTextField, you get two things:

  (1) the ability to shape a field using different fonts:

  Using models of string, I think you'd be able to create ' hot-link in your text, which the run Menu item was able to process you want.

• Problem of numbered list in InDesign using paragraph Styles Code syntax highlighter

  Code can be copied and pasted, or can be typed and styles work well. .

  My only problem is with the numbering.

  I've implemented a character list ordered for my type of chip.

  Although the size of characters must be greater than the size of the code in order to get the character bar to connect and be a solid line.

  Is there a way to have the same size font for the numbering and the code and a bar of character which will connect? Do not be destroyed, because the separator between the numbered lines and the code?

  Also it doesn't seem to be a way to change the color or the weight of the bar (it must be the same color as the number) with a bar automatically generate? Is it possible?

  I have a very strange problem that I've never experienced before with InDesign. I have attached a screenshot below. The first paragraph which is circled decided to jump in the second column. No amount of rearranging, cut-and - paste or anything else that influences. As you can see, there is also a second subtitle which is completely messed up as well. This has happened in another part of the magazine that I'm working on as well. I have attached my settings to keep my paragraph settings and my settings for calibration below.   I'm having a problem with a site paragraph styles. I created and applied h1, h2 tags etc. to help SEO and everything seemed to work very well so I went to other areas of the site. To revise accordingly the site I decided I want to change some of the tags, however paragraph styles, I created have disappeared since the paragraph style window.

  The problem I have now is that when I write the site the tags are still there in the html code. Is there a way to restore the paragraph currently on a site styles in the paragraph styles selection window?

• Application of paragraph style problem and adding page breaks

  I work on the formatting of a novel in InDesign.   I met two problems.   The first of them is to apply a paragraph style to a specific paragraph.  Every time I try the paragraph in question shows a '+' after the style in question and will not apply the style.   I know that the sign '+' means that the style changes were made but I want to apply the style as it was before those changes were made and InDesign doesn't let me.

  The second problem concerns export ePub.   I inserted page breaks in some places inside the InDesign file, but when I export to ePub, the export process ignores the page breaks.  I know that I deal with text content may be but I don't want my scene headers (chapter) appears at the bottom of a page in the ePub.

  Re page breaks, in the paragraph style for the scene (chapter) headings, try to tick in the paragraph Options of Style, tab Panel Options export, Split Document (ePub only).

  I can't remember, but you will need to check the document page can be Split in the EPUB - export of content Options. (see below).

• Problem affecting the existing paragraph style

  Hi all!

  I have searched all morning and can't find a lot of good documentation on the use of existing scripts paragraph styles to HAVE. I know that you can build a live, but more specifically, I want to add in the tabs and don't see this as an option to add paragraph styles in one of the refs to javascript.

  I do an "export log" that captures the version, date, time, artist name/layers assigned to help our team of quality control. My problem is that any new text added to the box ignores existing paragraph styles, and I do not see so he can apply what I have in the file.

  I can find the style, so I don't know it exists, and I can also draw the text box, so I think that these paths are correct and working, it's just the applyTo seemingly does not. Here is my code below:

  Problem with CS4 paragraph indentation styles: specificities of the indentation suddenly APPEAR differently but reading the same thing (in the paragraph style palette) on page 5 to 6 and beyond.   I have a problem to inDesign that I don't normally.

  (I work on a macbook pro)

  I'm adding a text in a template document. I have two character styles and the paragraphstyles.

  This is how I work:

  I place my text I have the text box. (placing a word document) First I get all of the italicized words in the text placed and they give a character style: italic. Then, I want to give a definition to the whole text. It is a 'regular' from the same font of type version. When I do that, all of the text get this pink-ish marking meens that the text has not been completely changed the style AND a little plus (+) next to the paragraph style accurs. Normally I just press alternative (alt) as I click the paragraph style and thus cancels the problem. BUT when I do that now all the text becomes italic - witch is not in the selected paragraph style. Why?

  I'm really lost how can I solve this problem - I don't want to create a new document because it is a model that I use each month for a magazine and normally it works.

  Would be - this code in the word document? Or what?

• Paragraph alignment problem

  My first mistake was probably using Word for typing the long article that I wrote for the site that I run.  When I pasted the article in my page, three paragraphs in the middle of the article were not completed in what they were flush with the left edge of the div contained rather than be offset of the div by 15 px, like the other paragraphs.  I'm not very good at CSS, although I used it at a really basic level for three years now.  I did everything I knew to do but could not fix it, then I deleted all the text on the page and all codes removed from this area of the page.  I then copied the text in Notepad, removed all formatting and put it back in my page with the same result.  I studied the code closely and did not find any problem.  When I look at the page source to http://www.alex.k12.ok.us/ (lines 245-274), I see the code that is different from what I see in Dreamweaver.  I finally caused the text to display correctly (I have to get this publication, after all) by voluntarily removing a code to cause one of the paragraphs not to display at all, which helped the whole thing appears correctly.  Can anyone tell by looking at the source indicated above what's wrong with the text?  I have encountered this problem before when pasting from Word and generally do not use it.  However, I was in a hurry, and when I pasted, I used the paste special, only text without formatting, the command to insert into the page.  

  When you pasted MS Word, you probably injected some unwanted code somewhere.   If you copy & paste from Word into Notepad, which will remove the setting fit for you.

  To save time, try opening your page of DW in Notepad to see if you can locate the unwanted code.  Save it.  Then get a preview in browsers.  It could provide all the cleaning you need.

• Problem with styles of framework and the paragraph of text

  I have a book with a number of documents in it. In one of the documents, there is a problem with blocks of text and paragraph styles. When I create a new text frame, text in it and apply a paragraph style, the style does not apply correctly. Elements of applied and others do not. For example, bullets and numbered lists apply but italic, and font size are not. It only happens with new blocks of text, and the oldest work very well.

  This does not happen in other documents, just one.

  The book is properly synchronized and synchronization options include all options.

  Check your panels styles, paragraph, character and the object with nothing selected. If there is an already established style name, and I think that it would be in the Panel character styles, that's your problem.
