Partitioning advice please!

I currently have four primary partitions; drive c, a d ' training (used by samsung recovery solution 4), a *: partition system, and a *: recovery partition. I am running windows 7 on a samsung r440. I want to be able to do one or more of these logical partitions rather that prima / ry because of a desire to dual boot ubuntu. Any advice on which, if any, are safe convert logic? TIA.

Hello

You cannot use D: or one of the other 2 because they are also important to your installation of Windows 7 and
Samsung recovery options designed for this system.

You can split C: in another partition and install Ubuntu on that if the drive is large enough to allow
the split and for both systems in order to have an operating space.

It would be best to add another physical hard disk to install Ubuntu on.

Hi, I have a problem with my pitch bend wheel on my pc - 300 midi keyboard Roland. The Modulation part works but when I try to pitch bend a note using the same logic of wheel just plays a continuous note. Can someone give me some advice please? Thank you

It's a delicate issue... like some patches cannot stipulate pitchbend...

But to quickly test your pitchbend wheel actually works properly...

    Download the free lunch monitor...

    Snoize: MIDI Monitor

Run and see if it sees pitchbend data sent by your keyboard... and therefore by logic.

  • Recommendation & advice please

    Hello world

    Need some advice.

I'm going to create a VM Windows 2008 R2 Standard.

    The customer wants a drive C, D, E and F in windows.

Would you recommend create 1 vmdk and partition via Windows or would it be better to create a separtate for each required partition vmdk.

Are there best practices for creating Windows 2008 VM?

2nd I have issue vcpu and what the best method is to assign.

We have a HP DL360 G6, watch vi client

    CPU cores: 4 x 2 Ghz CPU

    Processor Socket 1

    Cores per Socket 4

    4 logical processors

I get really confused with vcpu as ive not been able to find a simple explanation, as I can't get my head around this concept.

Is there a rule when it comes to assign a virtual machine with more than 1 vcpu.

The vcpu corresponds to the amount of carrots?

If I assign a vm vcpu 2 he would use 50% of the available hearts and it will take 2 carrots is available before you start any cpu on task.

with the current setup, what would you recommend for vcpu config.

Sorry to ramble on so many things, its just confused.

    Jitla

I use the more generally separate VMDK since these can be made larger in the future easily if necessary.

    FYI vCPU, try this: http://blog.peacon.co.uk/understanding-the-vcpu/

  • Menu horizontal widget - advice please

I used a widget to create a horizontal menu that runs along the top of the banner. My banner is set to 100% ' width so I wish my menu was the same, but when I put my menu 100% width it is not spread over the entire length of the page.

The left hand side reaches the edge of the browser window, but the right side ends more than a short thumb!

I feel like I've tried everything I can think of to send to 100% width but no luck so far (I'm fairly new to Muse so I can miss the thing)

Any help/advice would be very very much appreciated!

This is the default behavior for full browser width, you can use the control panel and create menu with accordion.

  • Time to update computer - advice please me!

    Hello

I'm about to get a new computer for my Adobe CC use, mainly for the use of Premiere Pro and After Effects. I got the following list of my son. Son advice are often good, but should always be double checked to keep the family friendly... :))

Could you, who know what to do (and more that my son knows?) Please take the time to check and comment on the following specifications. :

Motheboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH TUF 79 X

System SSD: Samsung EVO Basic 840-Series 250 GB SSD

HARD disk storage: 4 TB Seagate Desktop SSHD 8 GB 7200 RPM 64 MB

    Processor: Intel Core i7 4930 K 3.4 GHz (Ivy Bridge-E)

RAM: Corsair 32 GB (4X8Go) CL10 1866 MHz REVENGE LP

Graphic card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3 GB SC ACX

    Power supply: Seasonic Platinum 760W

He also added an extra fan: Noctua NH - D14

    And Windows 8.1

Suggestions and/or comments would be very apprechiated - even if it's just: 'ok '.

    Thanks in advance,

    Håkan

    Hello Hakan,

The minimum requirements for first Pro CC is: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html

    and for After Effects: http://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/system-requirements.html

The above mentioned specification of the system exceeds the minimum requirements and the software will work fine.

    Kind regards

  • Changes did not survive the LR5 upgrade - advice please

    Hello

After upgrading to LR5, I launched the application and updated the old LR4.4 catalogue.

LR5 opened very well and ultimately the entire structure of directory/photos was there.

However, all photos were in their original state as I imported them right. All the editing I'd done had disappeared.

Opening of the LR4.4, the changes are there, but not with LR5.

Can anyone offer advice how to transfer the changes to the database/catalog LR4.4 in LR5 thing please?

    Thank you

I would not rely on sidecar or xmp to transfer metadata (including changes).

I would try upgrading the LR4 catalog again. In LR5, file-> catalog to open.

I have start and end dates. There's a reocrd for each hour of the day. In the above example, the START DATE is a Monday and so the first 24 recordings belong to Monday and the next 24 belong to Tuesday... and 24 last belong to the following MONDAY. I need help in creating a column where I can assign each record a day, for example in the case of the table above the Chronogram of 25-48 should be TUESDAY and 49-72 as Wednesday... Can any help me me or advice on that?

    Thank you

How you order these documents? The TRAFFIC_SAMPLE_ID can be used for this? In this case, you could use something similar to this

untested due to lack of instructions insert/create

    select v.*,
            to_char(to_date(start_date,'mmddrr') + trunc(rn/24), 'Day')
    from
      (select t.*,
row_number() over (partition by SITE_ID_NBR, DIRECTION, START_DATE order by TRAFFIC_SAMPLE_ID) rn
       TRAFFIC_SAMPLE_ID) rn
       from myTable t
      ) v

  • My 'friend' stole my phone! Looking for advice please...

I lost my iPhone there are coming from about 4 weeks after my vacation.  I assumed that I had lost all the unpacking.  I went on icloud and tried to find my iphone, but it had extinguished.  Today, I got an email saying «sound was played on your iphone» "So I'll in icloud, find my iphone and the compass of boots, and there is the point and green on my friend house '". "  They renamed as their own phone, but all my contact information, phone numbers, pictures etc. are still there.   Funny it was, earlier, before I got this email, my friend actually asked me if I wanted to buy an iphone and showed me my own phone!  (didn't know that at the time it was my phone) Who needs enemies huh?  In any case, I just want my phone back, without being mean to my friend (who will then be an ex friend once I pick up my phone).  Do not call the police or something like that, don't want to let know them I know, don't want to erase phone or activate the lost mode.  Really confused what course of action to take. You'll feel so betrayed. I buy my own phone of this horrible person.  Can I change the password via icloud?  (yes they knew my password!).  Can I change the language of the phone and mess with them?  How they have enabled it anyway, I tried ringing but the call wouldn't happen, is that this means they put a new SIM card in, and my info stored in memory?  I tried Googling some of these issues, not vain, alas.  You'll feel so devoid of meaning.  Advice or answers very welcome...

I suggest you to contact the local police and proceed from there. This isn't a 'friend', and I would put the unit lost Mode. They were willing to sell you the phone. How do have to go before you're ready to contact the police, or lock the phone?

  • I see the files but not access - advice please

Had some problems of research of file here, would like some advice

I'm running 2 external hard drive as time machine backups. For some reason, I needed to restore a dropbox folder, I was disconnected.

I connect hard drive backup 1, and he died. Not a big deal I have same backups on another external hard drive.

I connect hard drive 2. As I browse the oldest backup, I can see the whole dropbox folder, I need to restore, so all should be good. But as a Time Machine drive, he go right ahead and begins the next backup, and then delete the files very I need, because they are the oldest saved...

If I look now into the oldest backup Time Machine, the special dropbox folder is empty, but if I search the finder for example ".psd", I can see all the files, I need, but I can't access it. I can see when they are created and how big they are, but that's all, the file itself does not appear to be any reference to it.

Someone else had this problem and can give me guidance? As a work of related files, I am very eager to get it sorted, so spending on recovery software are definitely on the cards. I have run it through disk drill but it says it can't find all deleted files...

Would be very grateful for any help or advice

But as a Time Machine drive, he go right ahead and begins the next backup, and then delete the files very I need, because they are the oldest saved...

It's that I read, very bad news.

You should always turn off Time Machine when you're looking for old backup files.

TM will delete the dropbox because he is no longer on the Mac. Especially if you upgraded the operating system between when you made the backup, and now that you are trying to recover the files.

The box did not get uploaded to cloud somewhere?

Unfortunately when files or folders are removed in TM, you can retrieve them. There is no trash as part of mode TM works so he will remove the files forever and recovery is extremely likely.

If I search the finder for example ".psd", I can see all the files I need, but I can't access it

TM index can always refer to the file, but it disappeared.

Did you try just retrieve the dropbox and see what happens?
