partitioning or not?

Hello guys!

I have a question for you which is:

which is better to partition the hard drive or just leave without partitioning (i.e. only one partition C :)

and if the partitioning is better:

who will be my best option for partitions D and E?

(when installing windows 7 "clean" installation and after I had deleted the C and D (recovery) partitions, what to do with new unallocated space?) Press again twice from the option of hard drive to do two primary partitions or on the new that only once to have a primary partition, and then press expand after having extended partitions?

waiting for your reply as soon as possible

  • Bootcamp partition is not as boot drive, after running bootcamp to install Windows 10 on MacbookPro 15 "El Capitan running

    Hello

I'm trying to install 10 Windows on my Macbook Pro. I followed this guide, but I am stuck between steps 3 and 4. In disk utility, I see that the bootcamp partition is created, but it does not appear as boot drive. I also tried to start my mac while pressing the option key, but still it will not show.

See below for a screenshot that shows the current state of my machine.

How can I continue to install 10 Windows on my Mac?

Your BOOTCAMP partition internal not yet have Windows installed on it.  If you're between steps 3 and 4 (the installation procedure standard), your, assistant Boot Camp should automatically rebooting your computer after partitioning, from the installation media (Windows 10 CD), you must have created.  I assume that you already have a Windows 10 installation disk.  Make sure that the disc is inserted when you first enter assistant Boot Camp and you let the computer restart on its own.

  • External HD fat32 partition is not mounted

I've updated to Yosemite to El Capitan 10.11.2. My external hard drive has 2 partitions, 1 used for Time Machine, the other partition formatted in Fat32.

    Everything works fine so far.

I had to make some adjustments in SIP (csrutil toggle) to get my wifi working. All ok again.

After a few days without problems, I have updated to 10.11.3. The partition of Time Machine is fine, but the Fat32 partition rises no more.

In Bootcamp Windows, the fat32 partition is mounted works ok.

On another external hard drive, I still have El Capitan 10.11.2, when I boot this disk partition Fat32 works well again. I drive repair, etc.

When I start again from El Capitan 10.11.3 the Fat32 partition is not recognized, is not accessible. USB drives in Fat32 are not too recognized.

    SIP clear has no help.

All this seems to be related to the SIP, kext of unsigned drivers.

Adjusted recovery csrutil Terminal, mode, enabled - no kext

Now everything works fine, including my wifi dongle.

I'll try to find the updated drivers for my WD drive.

    Hello

No, your brand auto recovery pricing won't recreate the recovery partition. If you want to re-create the recovery partition, you need a set of HP to perform the factory restore.

  • My Windows 8 partition does not appear

    Hello

I have a problem with my macbook pro (early 2011) which I hope someone can help me with.  I tried researching the issue on mine and have not found anything that fits my specific situation.  I consider myself a little above the average user and do not have any formal education in computers.

I had partitioned macbook brother previously with windows 7 and had no real problems.  I had looked at the walkthroughs on youtube and forums.  It was a year ago.  Last week I decided I want to partition my macbook so that I could use windows.  My boyfriend already has a version of windows 8 (64-bit) that had not been used, so I assumed that it would be nice to use it.  I carelessly did not saved my computer.  I used the boot camp assistant who has two boxes to check with the download of the last support Windows of Apple options and install Windows 7 or later.  I did both, which prompted me to plug in a USB key, I did.  When he was done download Windows support, it prompted me to install the cd that I used for the installation, I did, the 64-bit windows 8.  Then it prompted me to choose how I wish the windows partition.  I chose the option to divide it into equal parts, if I remember correctly out to be about 159 GB for storage remaining on my mac and about 159 GB passes to the new partition of windows.  At some point the computer restarted and I had the option to accept the terms and agreements for Windows and I did, and then he invited me for a product key, I got in.  I had options for disk 0, 1, 2, etc. and the correlation of numbers for partitions.  When I'd done it before if I remember correctly, one of the options should have considered something like "disk 1 Partition 3: BOOTCAMP" and I think that I would have a few steps after this formatting including it.  But the bootcamp partition has not showing as an option.  I decided to restart my Mac and remove the partition and start again when I had someone to help me.

The problem is that I can't delete the partition because its does not appear anywhere on my mac, I can see.  I tried to use boot camp again to remove it, but he gave me the same guests as if I had just started.  I also tried to go to disk utility and it does not appear there either.  I also noticed that the approximate amount of GB I assigned to the windows partition always took to the top of this memory.  Instead of having the original number of GB of free space on my mac, it says now I 159,84 Go 85,87 Go free.  When I tried Windows partition using boot camp just to see what he would say, the corresponding figures having only 85,87 GB to divide between mac and windows.  After looking to the top of the information on my mac, the only thing I've noticed showing how much storage I had initially is entering the system report and selecting storage and see what is called the logical volume group which has 319,21 GB of which 159.02 is free, which is the number of the partition that I did.  But I have no idea if it is still relevant or even isn't a logical volume group.  I should have saved my computer and should have looked more into it before plunging blindly, but now that I have, I was hoping if anyone had any idea of what could have happened or what I could have done wrong.  The only solution I've come across is my current computer backup and reformatting of my mac.  I would try to avoid this if its possible but will if I have to.

I apologize for the wordy explanation.  I used OS X El Capitan when I made the partition, and I updated after I made the partition hoping it might help somehow, but there is no change.  If more information is needed or if images are necessary, I would be happy to do so.  Thanks for your time.

    Hello

I never got a message error... all options have been grayed out.  And I tried the guest... but it has not yet been recognized in disk management.

But after two weeks of puzzle, I finally found the cause.  I run MacDrive 8 so I can play discs with HFS + formatting.  This program should be completely uninstalled and reinstalled after the upgrade.  I had turned it off before the upgrade, but it takes more than that.  Everything works now as expected.

But it would be really nice if Windows reads HFS disks...

  • 'Operating system not found', can't the recovery partition, do not have a recovery disk

Original title: recovery Partition not here and not backed up copy of Win8

I have an 18 month, Acer Aspire V5-571pg now out of warranty.  For the last 3 days, of what it has been in a loop bringing repair until this morning disc error messages, it just says "operating system not found '.  A call to Acer support and we have tried to activate the recovery Partition using Alt - F10 but it seems that the partition is not there either, and of course I did not create a recovery disk when I got the laptop.  I was not eager to send the Acer laptop for service after the warranty expires, I thought I should at least attempt of recovery or re - install.  Windows 8 is a preinstalled OEM version.  Where should I start?  Y at - he's going to be a download that I can use and what I need to know a product key to install?  Should I get Acer to send me a recovery disk?  Not super PC here but am knowledge letter wins all the time.  I hope someone understands my situation.  Thank you

  • Vista Boot Camp partition does not start

I have been using Fusion to open my Boot Camp with Vista Ultimate installed partition.  It worked fine for months.  Suddenly, I get a windows Boot Manager error.  The message says that some required files missing.  Here's the weird: I can open the Visa using Boot Camp partition.

    Any ideas?

    Tim

Note: These steps assume that you have a default Apple installation of Windows and a VMware Fusion Boot Camp Virtual Machine default partition and if you changed the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine package first.

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will remove the Boot Camp Virtual Machine meta-data partition. Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition to install Windows. Also make sure that you copy the entire command below "rm" line at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the p in the Camp. "

RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines / Boot Camp."

    3. start Fusion (/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app) and select the Boot Camp partition on the library of the Virtual Machine window, and then click the run button.

Notes: Then, an authentication dialog box appears. "VMware Fusion requires that you type your password." Enter your name and password, and then click OK. (It is necessary to remove the Boot Camp for the merge partition to access it directly).

Then, we should see a Boot Camp partition message stating "VMware Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run as a virtual machine. This may take a few minutes. This occurs once. »

When the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine starts for the first time after this VMware Tools may want or will install/update and restart the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.

  • Bootcamp partition does not appear at startup

    Hello

I'm on iMac 27 inches, end of 2013, and I have a problem. A week ago I tried to clean my mac and start from the beginning. Because my mac has been very slow. Then I do what it takes. So, apparently, I erased all macintosh hd and leave bootcamp partition. So I used for a while because I was tired. And yesterday I don't know what I have everything in the bootcamp partition and recovery of mac has just finished after 4 hours I was relaxing and wanted to extend my bootcamp partition. I don't know how, I deleted both the partition boot and forcefully repeat thing of recovery for 4-5 hours. So now I mavericks, disc bootcamp as not a partition and a very weak internet because of the recovery. And cannot choose the startup as a bootcamp drive or can't do anything for the bootcamp partition disk utility... Can you help me? I'm sorry if I could not tell you very clearly

Off topic: should I upgrade to el capitan and yosemite? Or leave it as Mavericks?

    Thanks for your replies!

  • Mavericks on external partition does not start

    Hello

I'm trying to implement the Mavericks on a partition on my external hard drive. Found several good guides on how but can't seem to boot from it.

I created a Mavericks install USB and started one. I deleted the partition (guid partition map and extended journaled) where I wanted to install the Mavericks ran through the facility and said it will re-start automatically that it did.

However it is started on my internal drive with OS X 10.11.4.

The partition where the Mavericks has been installed is displayed in the Finder.

The partition where the Mavericks has been installed is displayed as a virtual disk in system preferences, but when Source selected to restart, but after rebooting, it does not appear.

When I hold the ket Option initially upwards, it does not seem to me to choose.

I retried with 'createinstallmedia' https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201372 and Diskmaker, but the same results.

How can I solve why it why it seems installed, but is not a bootable disk?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Also...

I use a partition of 100 GB of the Mavericks on a backup drive Seagate to Office for Mac 4.

I have Firefox in the Windowspartition of my computer and the Linuxpartition from my computer, I have a third partition where I store my personal data, such as my Firefox-profile-map and my download card.
If I'm not manually delete 'Parent Lock' Firefox will not start it is already an open session.
It would be better not to have this system of parentlock.

It would be better to use two separate profiles for each operating system and synchronize data between the two, because there can be other problems as well with the caches that use current versions of Firefox and other files that store the paths of dependent files of the OS.
