  • Please HELP me choose the perfect dv7t Quad Specs

am to customize a HP Pavilion dv7t quad edition laptop.

I have a few choices to make. Money is not really a problem, but I really don't want to spend an additional $ 150, if the price difference is quite minimal. I would really see again you my current selections and determine whether or not I should make to level or downgrade, as appropriate. In addition, I would appreciate it really answering you any questions found throughout my post. Thank you very much.

    (1) run RuneScape without lag (with the exception of lag of the game itself)
    (2) load extremely fast programs and Web pages and maintain performance when the computer age.

    (3) graphics card
2GB (TM) Radeon HD 6770M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA]

Graphics memory is not so important, but the model number is. I prefer NVIDIA on AMD as it runs more fees and the drivers are updated more frequently. Most of the HP machines use custom video drivers and they cannot be updated directly from a view of the factory. HP has done a terrible job of updating their custom drivers.

A step down: 1 GB Radeon (TM) HD 6770 M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA] ($-50,00)
Two not down: 1 GB GDDR5 Radeon (TM) HD 6490 M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] (-* 75.00)

Stick with 6770 and 1 GB of memory is good, but for only $ 50, you may as well go with the 2 GB memory.

What is the importance of the memory of a graphics card?

Not so, 1 GB is plenty for most, more serious laptops will come with more. Like I said, more the model number the better. With a laptop video card game is extensible, look for this. You cannot upgrade the video card in any HP laptop, they are soldered directly to the motherboard. Remember, however, that 99.9% of computers laptops, video cards cannot be upgraded. Too expensive.

    (4) memory
    8 GB memory (2 DIMMs) DDR3 system

8 GB is a lot, nothing more is a waste of money.

    (5) drive
1 TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive with Protection for hard drive HP ProtectSmart

A step down: 750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive protection ($-80,00)

Get one with a Solid State drive and the new SATA 3 interface, make sure that the laptop can make use of the SATA 3. Ask the manufacture, but not HP, they will tell you only what you want here or they don't know. If they can't answer that question, the machine can not support SATA 3. Forget the disks of standard rotation on a portable game. They get too hot and are already obsolete.

    (6) main battery
    Battery 9 Cell Lithium-Ion

    A notch: a 6 cell and a battery 9 Cell Lithium ion ($+ 30.00)
    Two steps to the top: two 9-Cell Lithium-Ion (+ $ 60.00)

When it becomes oversized? a larger battery makes the portable warmer?

You'll be lucky if you get one hour where the game on a battery with a battery. Look for one with a system of LED backlight for more autonomy. Backlight CCFL is a thing of the past.

    (7) display
    17.3 "full HD BrightView Infinity LED (1920 x 1080)

I am a MSDN developer and run Win8 RTM (Pro) for about a month on Pavilion dv7t - 6 c 00 CTO Quad Edition.  I was forward updates of the software/driver for Win8 OFFICIAL from HP (because my AMD video card did not work).

    Currently

    • Audio
    • BIOS
    • Intel chipset
    • YouCam
    • Touchpad

    Updates are available for Win8

    (2) Intel chipset

    (3) audio

    (4) touchpad

I can't REALLY afford to have this computer down!...

    Please notify

    Hello:

I copied and pasted the correct order of your post below.

    (1) bios

    (2) Intel Chipset (restart computer after installation)

    (3) audio (restart computer after installation)

    (4) touchpad

I highly recommend to install the updated BIOS in windows safe mode so that there is a minimum of current process.

If she didn't say adds support for windows 8, I would have recommended does not update the BIOS.

A too risky adventure, update the BIOS...

There's no graphics driver out yet so it may not be your hopes to the top...

Driver & Software Downloads - HP Pavilion dm4-3000ex

Install the DRIVER FIRST validity - RESTART the computer and log in

Install the software SimplePass next - configure the software, and then restart the system, sign in.

If you wish, you can then download and install the latest version of the HP SimplePass of AuthenTec software.

Before installing the latest version, at any TIME after making changes in SimplePass...

You should backup / EXPORT the webcard password database:

    Export the Webcard database:

If you have working software SimplePass, export your Webcards before proceeding.  In the case where you must remove the SimplePass software, your webcard backup can be used (imported) to restore your Web site login information.

Start SimplePass > parameters > export NOTE: file will be called *.tsd

    Later:

Whenever you make changes, you can expect the softwware to complain.  One way around this problem is to go to programs, right-click on the SimplePass software and click on repair.  This reinstalls the software without destroying the existing database Simple and solves many problems.  Restart after the "repair".

    A note more...

    When the driver free...

You can go into your device manager > biometric devices > right click on your driver of validity, and then uninstall it.  When you restart, reinstall the driver.

    Hello

The first thing I would check is the following.

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select Personalize.

In the next window, select the themes in the left pane, then theme settings link.

In the next window, select the screen saver link to the lower right.

In the screen saver settings window, you can adjust the time before the screensaver kicks in the menu drop-down 'Wait' and Remove the tick in the box next to "in»the logon screen curriculum vitae  Click on apply, then Ok to save the change of the parameter.

  • 2nd hard drive for HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Notebook - what do I need?

Hi, I have the HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook (product # WV703AV). It can accommodate two hard disks but only came with one. What would need to be able to install the second hard drive? I need just a connecting cable or I also need to caddy or kit?

Also, would I get a solid state? My laptop that would support or should I just use regular?

Currently, I am on Windows 7 64-bit. I have a 500 GB hd (which came to be partitioned with hp tools/restoration).

Help with what I would need to a conventional hard drive or ssd would be greatly appreciated. I tried to look through messages of others first, but could not find anything specific to my model. Thanks for your time!

    Hello:

The only place I know where you can get a 2nd hard drive kit is that provider.

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=product_info&products_id=345

Your laptop should be able to work with an SSD, but I can't guarantee it.

I don't really see any point in adding an SSD unless you make the main hard drive, and to do this, you must get an SSD of the same size as the original 500 GB hard drive to use the recovery discs to reinstall the operating system.

Most people get smaller SSD and they use the W7 product key to activate a simple installation of W7.

If you can read all 25 characters of your product key for windows 7, you can do your own installation media and allows to install Windows on a smaller than 500 GB SSD.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC - Upgrade processor

    Hello

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.  Due to a new job, I need to update my processor of the current 2.30 GHz (see exact specifications below, please) of at least 3.0 GHz.

Is there a processor 3.0 GHz there that is compatible with this particular computer? I called tech support and they told me they don't know. I don't know who else to ask.

This computer was purchased just a few months ago (before I got the new job). I really don't buy a new computer, if possible, if I can upgrade the processor in it.

Here are the current processor specifications:

    Intel Core i7 3610QM
    Codename Ivy Bridge
    RPGA Socket 988 B package
    The 22nm technology
Specification Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz

    Thanks in advance.

Well, it seems that one (that I found) 3.0 GHz processor that Intel made for my chipset (HM77 Express Chipset) and it's the Extreme edition i7-3940XM (http://ark.intel.com/products/71096/)

Priced at $1,000 +, it looks like I'll be shopping for a new computer.

Don't know if anyone from HP read the peer forums, however, I won't buy another HP product.

This machine had problems outside of me needing to upgrade the processor for my own personal reasons. Your support is grossly lack in all areas even pull your techscannot model with the serial number.

Visitors should not go out on the Internet for questions of research like this.

It seems to me that there are two memory slots (one almost on top of the other). Take a look at the illustration.

This is why the memory in Chapter 1 specifications indicate that you can install up to 8 GB of memory (2 x 4 GB).

You can install a single chip PC2-6400 4 GB and leave the one you have in there now.
