• Problem with passing the values in a report to the other

  I am Agnes, I have developed 2 reports. Summary of the first high level, Mithraeum is detailed. First report is developed using Union (4 union), I have 4 columns. The report generates data. I used the Navigation option on customer column to go to the second report. In the second report with filter I use the easier option. Due to a problem, the customer value of the first report is failed per second. The second report is getting generated for all customers.
  
  Normally, I have used this option to navigate through other reports and which works very well. I even tested with Union, it works. This time is to give some difficulties.

  If your Union pivot source then by a simple navigation that you can not pass clicked value to the second report.

  With the help of GoNaV you can pass the selected value source union pivot report to the non-Union target report. If the target report is also union pivot, then it won't pass filters using GoNav.Not sure that because someone talked about a few days back that with the help of GoNav possible to pass the value of a union pivot query to pivot anothet union report.

  Yes, it's possible. Depends on what you are doing. Source value of the element can be a query, so if you have spent the value PK of a line in a table to the page, then the query source of this element could extract the line using this key and use the text value retrieved from another column to fill the text element.

  This feature allows you to control the device (laptop, LCD monitor, etc.) using only a single remote control.
  But this only works if all devices support the link Regaza.

• Best way to pass the name of the e/s DAQmx channel Veristand 2011 Custom Device?

  I'm building a custom device that will run a DAQmx task on the target of RT.

  I use VS2011 and alsoSimple custom device tool, which, at this point I'm not sure if it can work under VS2011...

  I created the fine libraries and custom device (a PWM input called InputPWM) has added to the Explorer from the system.  Running it returns the following error when I deploy:

  On the console, it says that the error is 1026, LabVIEW: Refernece VI is not valid.

  I suspect that a potential problem is that I used a DAQmx e/s in the Configuration.ctl and the InputPWM RT pilot VI.vi in the framework can not deal with this type. So my questions:

  -What is the easiest way to pass the names of e/s to the custom device? For a quick test, I could go to hard code, but a more generic solution would also. Should be based on the address for the e/s MAX? Do I have to create the ctr under the DAQ hardware in VS?

  - or said by the way, is there a way to review these screw frame to see where the questions is, as you would with LV - RT?

  If you use the tool of easy custom device, just put everything you need inside the cluster configuration data and these data will be in the home page of the custom (for the user to set) device and be available at runtime in the RT device custom code.

  You could have them type the name of the DAQ card and have an array of names for the channels to use. You then create the task running. or something like that. You like.

  I'm introducing quite a few subVIs to be executed repeatedly. However, I can't know how to pass the IMAQ session on the Subvi. I constantly get the error messages. In this case, I want to acquire images with OIDE_CollectFrame.vi controlled by OIDE_TrialPhaseCollect.vi. I couldn't understand how to assign the refnum IMAQ session class, either.

  It is probably a newbie question, but usually I program with LabView.

  First, string vs enum debate is probably the version of LabVIEW vim vs emacs. There are good arguments on both sides, and I doubt that there is always a "winner".

  A brief summary of our reasoning for the current state of the project examples:

  1. We used enums for the state machine because it is self-contained. A state machine will never tell himself to enter a State, he does not know. Knowing (as the programmer) all possible States with the help of an enum allows you to enlist the compiler in order to help us avoid mistakes to change the time (because you can't quite out an enum and LabVIEW can be said if you are not covering all cases to a structure of the case, etc..).

     Enums provide greater protection and rigidity by ensuring all withdrew at the time of publishing. This is often the 'default' recommendation that we do.

  2. We used strings for messages in queue manager because the producer of message and the message handler could be independent processes that are reused or traded. Channels avoid the need for the compiler to be able to connect the orders and push this responsibility to the programmer. This allows you to develop some sub-components independently as long as you agree to a series of channel commands that you can manage - you need not to share a file 'messages.ctl' or 'states.ctl '. It is conceivable a loop of message management a message it does not, how you can decide to either silently ignore it or will trigger an error (as we do in the model). The strings make it also easier if you want to swap the queues of LabVIEW outside by a TCP implementation for network vacilitate or intra-Processuse communication where the other end may or may not be written in LabVIEW.

  I don't know there are other reasons, others to the breast OR had or seen as we validated models and examples of projects in-house, but here are my reasons. We know that we can not design for each situation there - our goal is to get useful models against new users to make them aware of what well thought LabVIEW programs are similar to experienced users know their applications better and I hope they do not hesitate to change what we provide or create their own designs, when they feel it's necessary. (On a side note, please share what you come up with - a community of experts sharing models would be really useful to us all LabVIEW users).
