Passage of the Cluster probe to monitor autonomous experience?

I'm looking at the movement of our probes to a standalone FxM for our lower environments and that it points to the lower FMS. It seems trivial, but I wanted to make sure. I looked everywhere to try to find all the details on the removal of a probe of a custer to be independent, if the configuration would be saved or I need to back up and restore after changing the type and the IP Address of the FMS.

Are there any known issues, change a FxM probe to be autonomous?

Thank you

Kyle

Krizzo,

When you convert your probe to be self-reliant you will change the device type that resets the device. As you said, you will definitely want to export the configuration to a minimum before changing the type of device.

I would recommend you also look Solution SOL39872 looking for Supportlink

  • Question to the Cluster of conductor

    Hi all

    Just need some ideas:

We have a Cluster of conductor, some behind MCU and TMS. Booking is running on MSDS / conductor. All have SW-latest Versions.
TMS can handle only a single conductor of the Cluster. Okay, all right.
But what happened if this driver is down with scheduled conferences? Is it possible to send the reservation as soon as possible to the cluster of conductor a store there? Solutions or workarounds?

    Thank you very much!

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPad App

    Hi Dirk,

    Welcome to Cisco Support Community!

As you said correctly, when you have a cluster of conductor, TMS is not able to recognize all members of the cluster, as well as a conductor (usually the main one) will be managed and demand by TMS. If the driver fails, when a scheduled conference reached the moment to start, TMS will be able to push the Conference to the driver, so that the conference will fail.

Unfortunately, right now, you don't have any what automatic method to push the Conference to an another counterpart of conductor in the cluster, however, as a workaround, you can manually push the Conference to another position of conductor in this method:

    • Raise your driver cluster normally according to the Cisco documentation
    • Add only the counterpart of principal conductor to TMS
    • Configure TMS to follow the system using the IP address instead of the MAC address. You can find this configuration in "system > Navigator ', tab 'connection '.
    • Configure your TMS or any server monitoring for you advice (by e-mail or by using any other method) when the conductor comes down
    • When you are told that the conductor is down, go to TMS in ' system > Navigator ', select the conductor, go to the "Connection" tab and change the IP address of you're the conductor, put the IP of another position of conductor in the cluster. So TMS will push the forthcoming conferences of the annex to this peer of conductor
    • When the principal driver is back, go to TMS and set the IP address of the back of a main conductor. So the next regular conferences will be pushed to the main driver.

It is important to point out that, obviously, if one starts regular Conference right in time when the driver is down, before you change the IP in TMS, then this conference will fail. You will probably have to reschedule the Conference manually.

Although this good method works very well for our customer, it is important to inform you that it is not an official Cisco solution (as I know). So I personally suggest you to test and certify yourself before appling to your environment. Personally, I don't like to suggest informal recommendations of Cisco, but I think it's something interesting to consider.

Sorry for the delay in answering your question.  =)

    I hope this helps.

  • Recovery of the cluster VSA problems

    Hello

A power outage left our vcenter server machine somehow a mess (or at least the DB used by vcenter is)

So, given my complete lack of knowledge DBA and try to get things back running, I went to control panel and uninstalled) 1 vcenter, 2) unit of vsa, 3) the vcenter client and 4) sqserverl-express from Microsoft of the machine software. I assumed that to uninstall this way, any possible trace of the installation must be deleted or substituted at least when reinstalling. (can someone please confirm/deny this hypothesis, thanks!)

I continued to reinstall all the software and then tried the recovery procedure 'retrieve an existing Cluster of VSA", as described in the documentation centre 5 vsphere.

At first glance, this seems to work.

But now it seems that the recovery has not reproduced the "VSA HA Cluster" self, but simple imported all VM directly under the recreated VSA Datacenter. If I look at the 0 VSA, VSA-1 and VSA-2 VMs now, then the vSphere HA protection seems State "n/a".

Also two other virtual machines that I had installed under the cluster work but aren't protected HA anymore.

Trying to create a new cluster fails because my ESX 3 hosts are already known to the system under the data center...

I did something wrong during the recovery and is it possible to repair the damage, or am I better take a return of my 2 virtual machines (using standalone converter tool?) and simply reinstall my 3 servers ESX and vcenter again, as I described at the beginning of this message?

Thanks for any help on this.

    Hi David,

At this point, the best thing to do is probably to create the HA Cluster yourself. The steps are not too complex:

    1. right-click on the domain controller where the hosts/vms resident => New Cluster...

    2. Enter the name

    3. check 'Turn on vSphere HA' (you could also turn on vSphere DRS if you have the useful, likely license)

    4 @ VM Options:

    -Activate the tracking host

    -Enable admission control

-Set the control strategy for admission to 33 percent of the cluster resounces reserved as space failover capability (50% if you have a 2 cluster nodes)

-Click next and the VM Restart priority average value and response of isolation to "shut down the computer.

5 @ VM followed, define "VM Monitoring" to "Followed only VM" and "control of sensitivity to the average value.

6 @ VMware EVC window, I would say that allows EVC (but this is not necessary). This will ensure that all hosts in your cluster are able to Vmotion. Please, make the selections of approirate (v.s. intel amd and so on) and then proceed.

7 @ location of VM swap file, please select 'store the swap file in the same directory as the virtual machine (recommended).

8 @ ready to fill, review your selections and click "Finish".

    9. with the created Cluster HA, just drag and drop your ESXi in the cluster hosts.

    10. go back into the settings of Cluster HA. Right-click on the cluster-online 'change settings '.

-Under vSphere HA-online virtual Machien Options, please disable VM priority Restart for all virtual machines of VSA

That's all. You should be all set.

FYI: @ step 9, if you can't drag and drop your ESXi host, and he complains about your CVS settings, you can go into the HA Cluster settings and change the CVS options as your hosts will be allowed in the cluster.

I hope that this solves the problem for you. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • How to identify the name of the cluster to run the createresourcepool script?

I want to manage the resource in ESX 4.1 Pool.

And fortunately, I found a script from here, written by William Lam in 28/11/09.

    Lam, Hello, how are you?

I want to test your code, but I don't know how to use it.

I mean, I have a machine ESX, alone, with host name datastore1.vlab.iu.hio.no, that should not be called a cluster.

But if I want to run your script, I should offer you a cluster name. So, what is the name of the cluster here?

    Thank you.

    Hello

If you're referring to the createResourcePool.pl script, the documentation provides an example on how to use the vSphere SDK for Perl script.

    ./createResourcepool.pl--serveur reflex.primp - industries.com - username primp - cluster "R & D" - resourcepool rp6

You will need to provide the name of the vCenter cluster where you want to create the pool of resources, in the example I created a pool of resources called "rp6" to the title of the group 'R & D'.

If you are just to handle a crowd of ESX (i) autonomous which looks like you are, then you will need some modification of the script to allow you to create a pool of resources directly on the host ESX (i). Attached is a quick tweak to the script existing and all what you need to do is to connect directly to your host and specify the name of the list of resources you want to create. It assumes that there is no existing resource pool and this will be attached to the main world 'resourcePool' which is there by default, but you don't see it.

    Here's the syntax:

    . /RP.pl - Server himalaya.primp - industries.com - username root resourcepool - myRP

According to this article, MapListener will survive restart of the service, however, is not what we have seen in our environment.

Re: Link MapListener on restarting the Service

    We use 3.3.1/389.

We have an application running as disabled storage node which acts also as a MapListener on a cache.
This application performs certain actions when entry inserted/updated to day occur.

However, we have observed that when there is network problem, the cluster service will be shutdown. And
This application will not join the cluster after that the network problem go away. Here is what we

According to this article, this problem could be solved using MemberLister.

Listener for events of cache recovery

If we implement the MemberLister, and we get MemberLeft event when the cluster service has obtained the judgment.
However, we receive no MoreRejoignez event at all when this application join the cluster.

The MemberListener has been added to the CacheService belong to the cache, we added the MapListener. It seems
the MemberListener don't survive that restart CacheService in this case, so no cases of MoreRejoignez received.

Now the question arises. What can we do to ensure that MapListener can survive restarting the cluster service
in our case? Or is there a way for us to detect that the MapListener is not valid more so one reattach necessary?

    Kind regards

    Chen

    Hi Chen,

In the thread of your monitor, instead of CacheFactory.ensureCluster () you can call cache.size () (on a cache that you added another to.)

    Kind regards

But for my printer HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809a, what is the purpose of having the digital imaging monitor icon in the taskbar Windows7 sp1 of the Notification area (aka system tray)? My A809a is NOT an all-in-one that includes a scanner; It is simply a very good printer. When I start to print something, if you need ink or paper, that information is displayed on the screen of my computer. So I ask again: why is the icon of monitor digital imaging on the taskbar? I clicked on at the time of this icon (I not print anything, but as usual, the printer is turned on), and nothing happened. R.N. (Roger) Folsom _ P.S. below I'll post some other discussions (with links to their locations) of the digital imaging monitor, I discovered before finding this site on which I am writing. There are a variety of opinions on what makes the digital imaging monitor. HP Digital Imaging Monitor is for HP director system tray access. This is necessary if you want to use the buttons of all-in-one on a HP printer all in one to scan documents or transfer photos from a camera manually. Closing the icon monitor HP digital imaging in the Windows system tray can cause the HP all-in-one to lose part of its scanning features and not the connection error message. In this case, you can restore all functionality by restarting the computer or by starting the HP digital imaging monitor. [Edited] 03/08/2011 14:05 - edited? 03/08/2011 14:08 Yes, it is safe to remove. In my view, it is usually in the program group under start / all programs / startup. Simply navigate under the Start button, right-click on it and delete! If it is not there, then remove it from the registry: run regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete it from the list in the right pane. If she is not there, then try hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run it's better than using msconfig and uncheck it. In my opinion, msconfig must always be set to Normal startup. Your printer will always print without that annoying obstructive utility called Digital Imaging Monitor. Ciao! • Wheel rotation during the passage of the apps

    Hello

I frequently meet the spinning wheel during the passage of the apps. For example an app can do one, but open window have not been used for a while and then when I click on the window to use it I get the wheel spinning for a few seconds.

I am running Yosemite 10.10.5 on a MacPro Mid 2010) with 16 GB of ram and 12 GB available on the 300 GB SSD drive. I just realized that maybe space on the boot drive may be the cause, so I'll empty now and update if there is no change.

Also, my SSD is a 500 GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO media and I think that the TRIM is not enabled? I read that TRIM was not based with SSDS of third party on my machine and was picking up information contradictory as to the time it was a problem or not. The lack of TRIM could be the cause of the spinning wheel?

    Duane

You ran a 'cleaning', 'optimize' or 'speed up' apps on your Mac?  Have you installed an antivirus software?

The 12 GB of free space must be sufficient and not to be the cause of the problem. Don't let him get any small however.

Things you can do to solve the slow Downs

If your computer seems to run slower, here are some things you can do:

    Start with tours: OS X maintenance - MacAttorney;

The X Lab: the X-frequently asked questions.

    " Safe mac" the myth of the dirty Mac;

    Maintenance fast Mac Help.

Start in Safe Mode , and then repair your hard disk and permissions:

Fix the hard disk and permissions before Lion

Boot from your OS X install disk. After the installer loads, choose your language and click on the button continue. When the menu bar appears select utility drive in the Utilities menu. After that the charges of THE select your entry from hard drive (mfgr. ID and car size) in the list on the left.  In the status area, you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is faulty or has failed. (State SMART is not reported on external drives Firewire or USB). If the drive is "verified", then select your OS X volume in the list on the left (subentries under the entry for the road), click the first aid tab, then click the repair disk button. If THE reports any errors that have been corrected, and then run repair disk again until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions. Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the installer.

Repair the hard drive - Lion-Lion/mountain/Mavericks

    HD recovery start:

Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until it appears the screen of Menu utilities. Otherwise, restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the OPTION key until the Boot Manager screen. Select recovery HD disk icon and click on the button below.

When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility. If no error is not reported, then click repair permissions. Wait until the operation is complete, then exit FROM and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

Restart your computer normally and see if it helped at all. Then do little maintenance:

For disk utility can't handle situations, the best third party is Disk Warriorutility;  Fixed DW only for problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by the corruption of directory; Warrior drive 4.x is now compatible with Intel Mac.

Note: Alsoft ships DW on a bootable DVD that will boot Mac running Snow Leopard or earlier. He cannot start Mac that came with Lion or later preinstalled, however, DW will work on these models.

    Suggestions for OS X maintenance

OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are supposed to take place on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. Maintenance scripts that are run at the beginning AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep). If this isn't the case, then a great solution is to download and install a shareware like Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacronor Anacron utility that will automate the maintenance regardless of whether activity if the computer is off or asleep.  Dependence on third-party utilities to run periodic maintenance scripts has been significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have little or no functionality with Snow Leopard or later version, and must not be installed.

OS X automatically defrags files smaller than 20 MB in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files it little need to defragment the hard drive.

Under no circumstances should you install operating MacPaw or ZeoBit software (CleanMyMac/CleanMyDrive or Mac Keeper, respectively.) You don't need special software to keep your computer.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty a few pop ups browser that supported Safari

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

If you need antivirus protection Thomas Reed recommends to use ClamXAV. (Thanks to Thomas Reed to this recommendation.)

The user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:

    The facts are:

    1. There is no anti-malware software can detect 100% of malware out there.

    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect all targeting the Mac.

    3. the best way to prevent breaches the most is for you as the user is aware that

the most successful malware attacks rely on sophisticated social engineering

techniques preying on human greed, * and fear.

4 Internet pop-up windows telling the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on

your computer is designed to trick you into installing their malware thinking it's a

    protection against malware.

    5. some of the anti-malware market products are worse than malware

go where they are supposed to protect you.

    6. be careful where you go on the internet.

    7. don't download anything from sites, you know are safe.

8 avoid links that you receive in email, always be wary, even if you get something

you think a friend is, but that you did not expect.

    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume that it is malware.

    Troubleshooting Applications

I recommend that you download a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX, Mavericks Cache Cleaneror hiding a Cocktail that you can use to delete the former newspapers and archives, cleaning, etc. Corrupted cache, logs or temporary files can slow down the application or OS X crashes and panics of the kernel.

If you have leopard snow or leopard, then for similar repairs install Applejackfreeware utility.  If you do not start in OS X, you can boot into single-user mode , where you can run Applejack to make a set of routines for repair and maintenance of the command line.  Note that it takes 1.5 AppleJack for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. Applejack does not work with Lion and later versions.

    Basic backup

For some people, Time Machine will be more than enough. Time Machine is part of Mac OS X. There are two components:

    1. a panel of Time Machine preferences as part of the system of preferences;

    2. a request for Time Machine, located in the Applications folder. It's

used to manage backups and restore backups. Time Machine

requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the

    drive being backed up.

You can also get an external drive at least equal to the size hard disk internal and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the disk utility's restore option. You can also create and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (the order is not significant):

    1 Carbon Copy clone

    2. get backup

    3 already seen

    4 superDuper!

    5. Synk Pro

    6. Tri-Backup

Visit The FAQ XLab and read the FAQ on the backup and restore.  Also read How to back up and restore your files. For using Time Machine, visit FAQ Time Machine of Pondini for help with all this time Machine.

Referenced software can be found at MacUpdate .

    Additional tips

Make sure you have a sufficient amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run simultaneously. Make sure to leave a minimum of 10% of the capacity of the hard disk as free space.

Add more RAM. If your computer less than 2 GB of RAM and you use OS X Leopard or later, then you can do it with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion works much better with 4 GB of RAM that is their system. Most concurrent applications, that you tend to use the more RAM you should have.

Always have at least 15 GB, or 10% of the capacity of your hard disk as free space, the largest. OS X frequently accesses your hard disk, so offering enough free space will keep things slow down.

Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:

    Before Mavericks

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

    Mavericks and later versions

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the menu display .  Click the CPU tab in the toolbar.

This problem occurs often because of a corrupted cache or the preferences file or an attempt to write in a corrupted log file.

  • Mac Pro is not displayed after the passage of the screens

OK, so this is a strange problem but it's very annoying (at least for me). I just bought a LG Ultrawide 29 "display and connected via a HDMI cable to my Mac Pro (Home machine) and a second HDMI cable to my Macbook Pro (desktop computer). The Mac pro / Macbook pro good work with the big screen, HOWEVER, when I use my Mac pro and select the tilt of the screen to switch to the HDMI 2 connection, it works and rocking on my Macbook pro. But when I try to switch it back to HDMI 1 (Mac Pro), it comes back with a black screen and says no signal. Even if I plug the HDMI cable it does not work. I set the timer to 3 hours sleep, doesn't always help. I know he's not missing sleep because itunes can be played when I spend and still playing music throughout and continued when I try to switch back. The only way I could get is long, press the button on my Mac Pro and restart.

The only reasonable difference that I know is that the Macbook pro is running Yosemites, while my Mac Pro running Beta El Capitan. I have a feeling, this is probably the cause, but I just wanted to know if someone has solved this problem somehow.

  • History of clear ranking with only refers to the cluster

I have a group of UI elements that I save them as a strict type def be reused between various programs. I can send data in each of these elements. However, I use graphic waveform instead of waveform graphs so that I can stack data. In my application, the user can select data at different points in time so I need clear history graphic waveform and then update the graph with the necessary values. It works fine if I make a direct reference from the graph but I can't operate using just the reference to the cluster. I get either a mismatch of type if I use a strict reference, or I don't see the historic property at all if an appending reference is used. I've seen people putting this problem before but had not seen the right solutions that work with just the reference of the cluster. Any thoughts?
