Password is now required to access the virtual machines

I ran Money 98 on my laptop working for the last 2 years (in fact since 1998 on other computers) and from 07/10/2014 when I try to open Money 98 Windows asks for a password. I have not configured this virtual machine, and I do not think that a password has been set up. I really need access to this program, 16 years of financial info desperately needed for the work. Help please.

    Hello

    Not really...

For an environment hosted... If you can access the console of the host, you can always access the console of the virtual machine regardless of the State of the network outside of the console. VMware Workstation, Fusion and server all fall into this category.

For ESXi/ESX... you need a host outside to access the console of the virtual machine. ESX and ESXi not displayed graphics or VMs of their consoles and management devices. So, you need an external machine that can run the vSphere Client or access to the virtual machine via RDP, VNC according to Guest OS involved or SSH.

  • How to access the virtual machines to different physical network?

    Hello

I'm new to ESXi, can someone tell me how can I access virtual machines on the physical network existing in case I use different IP classes? Physics of the network by using the class C IPs and I assigned IPs to virtual machines of class A? If it is possible, then, what are the steps?

In fact, I installed exchange 2010 VMs and also want to access the email accounts of physical network.

    Thank you.

    vmjunki wrote:

You mean there's no way in ESXi to configure the way so we can access the virtual machines to physical network? without third-party applications.

Because it is impossible for the various networks IP connect without a router, you must have such a device. There is really no difference in that in a pure virtual or physical environment.

You might think the ESXi host as a box with one or more servers (virtual) inside and one or more layer (virtual) two switches, just like a small server room. This means you will need to provide the same type of connectivity that you would have to a new server room with machines configured with addresses in a different IP network range.

  • VMware networking help - network bridge / to access the virtual machines form other pc

I have a computer 'server' that had 4 VM launched on it.

I need to connect to these virtual machines, all of which have their own IP addresses. I can ping the server or the host of a remote computer, but must be able to communicate with the virtual machines in the remote/client computerss.

Can anyone offer insight?  I tried to set up an automatic bypass at one of the virtual machines

    Any thoughts?

Sorry, I'm not sure I can follow you. In any case, what you're trying to do is to configure adaper network of the virtual machine as "Bridged" within the parameters of the virtual machine and then change network card settings in as guest OS:

IP address: 192.168.1.21 (where 21 must be an unused IP address currently)
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Def gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1

  • To access the virtual machines of two different hosts

    Greetings,

I have a question that I can't find the answer to. I am setting up a virtual machine environment small and need to better understand the architecture behind it.

    2 host servers

    1 iSCSI Equallogic San (target)

I have installed 35i ESX and runnning on two physical hosts. .205 et.206

I created a data store on my SAN to host my 'model' VM.

De.205, I can see the data on the SAN network store and browse the virtual machine I (using VMConverter) moved there.

De.206, I can see the data store on the SAN, but when I sail, I do not see the same information. I see no. VM.

MY understanding is that using the SAN to store the virtual machine and that I would make the hosts of this data store to run the virtual machine. But the way in which it seems that I have the virtual machine configured on both hosts, always pointing the data store on the San but again using converter, copy de.205 vers.206.

What don't understand me or that I don't understand.

    Your help is appreciated.

Welcome to the VMware community forums.   If you have configured things Ok, you will be able to browse the data from these two hosts store and see the same content.  You can register the virtual computers on both hosts.  For an existing VM on the host from 1, you find the data on the host of the 2nd store, right-click on the VMX file and select Add to the inventory.  Have you thought to vcenter server?  It's going to do it is a lot easier.

  • root password back on empty and disappear the virtual machines

We arrived after the weekend and our virtual machine wasn't so I tried to log in the infrastructure client and the password did not work.  We tried to leave the empty password and it connected with root.  Then we saw that our virtual machine did not appear in the inventory list.  The data store still exists on the computer with the files that it contains.  That's happened?  How can I get it back?

    Welcome to communities

I couldn't tell you what happened. There has been cases with a new installation where the configuration is not saved but be?

If you are looking for your virtual machine, the data store and do a right-click on the VMX file and select Add to inventory, you will get your machines virtual return.

  • whenever I have to connect to the virtual machine asks me to enter login and password I can't save the credentials

Hi, I used Windows Virtual PC XP mode for awhile and I just do a fresh install, and I'm having a problem that I seem not to be able to solve.

After you enable the integration features, I got to the Windows Security login screen. I typed in the login and the password, but I accidentally made a mistake and could not connect. I clicked on cancel and was then in the XP login screen, where I entered then the right login and password and it me connected to the virtual machine XP without problem.

Now, the problem I have is every time I connect to computer virtual it asks me the login and the password on the login screen of XP and I don't have the option to connect using the login Windows Security screen, so it do not give me an option to save my password and login information. So, to make things worse is that moment every time I have to resize the virtual pc it then asks me to log in again.

Is it possible to return me to the Windows security login screen where can I put my login instead of the XP login screen when it is not an option?

  • The Virtual Machine encryption

    All,

I have a client that requires encryption at the virtual machine level. I was wondering what products are available and what users experience is.  The requirement is to have an end to end data encryption. We are looking at the possibility of offering it at the virtual machine level to meet their requirement.

    Ephillipsme

    Hello

If you are using VMware ESX/ESXi encryption within the virtual machine (at the level of the guest OS) is the only option. As the use of BitLocker for windows or TrueCrypt for other operating systems. Just be aware that these two options to store the keys in memory and any system administrator can also access the memory at any time. So if you trust your admins it's an operation relatively safe.

If you put data in the cloud then watch in secure Cloud.

As now, there is no third party encryption tool, nor is it a tool built into ESX/ESXi.

There is NO tool to encrypt the ESX/ESXi to level "VM" which is just below the guest operating system. VMware workstation has this ability, but requires you to enter a startup key and if you have lots of virtual machines that become extremely painful.

  • Cannot specify a directory for the Virtual Machine

I'm new to ESXi naked with me.  I added some records and then to browse the data store and I added the folders in there to specify the different VM..., I have a XP Win7 folder folder, etc.  When I go to create a new Virtual Machine gives me only the choice to select a data store to store the HARD drive and not the folder structure I created in the data store.  Now I can delete the virtual machine to inventory, return to 'Browse the data store' and move the files, and then add the VMX file in the inventory, but it just seems like a pain.  Am I missing something?  Really can not be complicated to arrange your virtual machines, it can?

Yes, you cannot specify a folder when you create a virtual computer to a data store.  I guess that he has not considered to organize things at this level and honestly.  Organization is really in the 'models and virtual computers '.

  • Unable to connect to the virtual machine after they are created

I installed VMware view and connected to my server Vcenter. Composer, I installed the server vcenter and View manager recognizes it.

I created a virtual Windows Vista machine, is joined to the domain and instant, it.

I then created a persistent office pool and allowed users to access.  I can see the virtual machine created the VCenter

However, the view Client cannot access the virtual machine (he can see the office pool) bit tells me that the customer is not available.

Any ideas on what I missed?

Go to the desktop the pool in view Administrator resources and check the status, it should say "Ready".  If this is not the one usually means that there is something blocking the port 4001 of the agent on the view connection server.  I got this when deploying a pool on a different subnet and there is a network between the areas of the network firewall.  The Vista firewall can sometimes be reset on the deployed virtual check computer so who has not been reactivated and adjust the GPO if necessary.

  • Clone the virtual machine between two ESX 3.5.0 servers (low connection)

    Hi all!

I have two ESX 3.5.0 servers that are managed by a vCenter servers one have just the connection of 32 KB.

I need to clone one of my virtual machines from one to the other ESX is W2k8 created with 40 GB HARD drive. I tried to start it clone trough my low connection, but the task is about 86% for 4 days :|

Is it possible to clone virtualmachine on one of my ESX for its local storage and after that, get it by vCenter for example an external HARD drive and then copy them all to my second ESX? How to run copied virtual machine on my second ESX? Maybe I can do it with another way - ideas?

Two ESX are the same versions and machines, only the names and the ip addresses are different.

    Thanks for the tips

    Kris

I don't think it is possible since the virtual disk will be 40 GB in size - I was suggesting using a laptop as a server NFS ESX sees and access the virtual machine for this storage clone - it take the first vessel of ESX host it to secondary site attach NFS datastore on the second ESX Server and using the browser of data store you navigate to the cloned VMX of VM file and to him the second ESX host - you can cold migrate leaving the second host and then move the cursor above for the storage you want.

  • I've set up the virtual machine in win 7 Ultimate and put some data. Now when I try to connect it asks password and does not accept any password.

Default password Machine virtual XP Mode

I've set up the virtual machine in win 7 Ultimate and put some data. Now when I try to connect it asks password and does not accept any password. Please giveme the default password

If you're talking about XP Mode the default password is XPMUser.  In general you can not use Windows without a password in Windows Virtual PC that you can with Virtual PC 2007 and before.  XPMUser is used only with the XP Mode virtual machine.  All other virtual machines requires a user created password.  If you have changed the password in XP Mode and forgotten, then you have to start over.

Windows Virtual PC is based on virtual server rather than VPC and all virtual machines need a password.  If necessary, uninstall the integration features, start the virtual machine and create a password for the admin user.  Restart the virtual machine, and then reinstall the integration features.  You will not be able to access a virtual machine created by the user that has no password, while the integration features are installed.  Once you have everything right, that a virtual machine will not be asked a password if you are the admin user in Windows 7.
