Windows 10 upgrade decreased original title

Hi Porter,

Thanks for posting in the community.

We are happy to help you to provide the necessary assistance to help solve the problem.

Before I continue, I would like you to provide the information below:

1. do you have an error message when the installation failed?

2. How have you tried to install Windows 10, via the update or ISO file?

3. do you get an error when you enter the password?

For now, if you own or have a Windows 7 installation disc, I recommend that you follow the steps below to make the Startup Repair.

To use this method, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the disc or USB flash drive.

  1. Insert the USB flash drive or Windows 7 installation discor a system repair disc, and then turn off your computer.

  2. Restart your computer using the power button on the computer.

  3. When you are prompted, press a key, and then follow the instructions that appear.

  4. In the page install Windows, or on the System Recovery Options page, choose your language and other preferences and then click on Next.

  5. If you use the installation of Windows or the USB flash drive disk, click repair your computer.

  6. Select the Startup Repair tool , and then click on Next.

  7. In the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.

Hope this helps

Nothing worked and I'm pulling my hair out.  I use WMC with an HDHomeRun and a map of Time Warner cable.  This facility worked well for more than a year before installing this update.  The machine is a Dell XPS 8300 running windows 7 SP1.   I'm unable to watch all channels protected by DRM and I lost all my legally registered content.  It is a disaster and cost me 30 hours and counting.  Anyone have any ideas?

Try to do a system restore: click on start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, System Restore.  Then choose the restore point from when itunes tried to install.  If this does not work, let me know and I can give you another way to do it.

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

  • I got a laptop that has windows 7 installed which is now broken. Can I install the license for windows on another computer?

My husband spilled a soda on her new laptop that has installed windows 7.  The computer is fried.  I have a laptop, only a year older than his, that we think of wiping and installation of windows 7, as we love windows 7 better than vista.  When we are no longer able to use the soda machine killed, is there a way to get that license windows 7 installed on my laptop more still functional old?  When we arrived the laptop with windows 7 on it, she had no records, best buy just installed everything for us.  Any clue?

If this laptop was supplied with Win7 this win7 license lived and died with this laptop.

Software OEM is not transferable to a new PC, only commercial versions of software can be transferred/installed on a new PC

  • password not accepted after that laptop wakes from sleep

When my laptop is on battery power and idle for a while, it goes into sleep mode. When I want to start working again, Windows does not accept my password. I need to change username, then click on my profile (which displays LOCKED) and only then Windows accept my password.

After doing a search on the net, I see other Windows 7 users have the same problem...

Hi Sean, the problem may be that the NumLock key is on in your profile.

Try this.  Hit the key Windows and r and type regedit and click ok.  Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard and locate the InitialKeyboardIndicators value.  DoubleClick on it and change the value from 2 to 0.  Click ok and restart.

Let us know if this helped.

    Hi Natrezim,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the request, I understand that you are unable to connect to your computer, because the password is not accepted. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

To help solve your problem better, could you give us the following information?

    1. Do you receive an error message when you enter your password?
    2. What is the standard account or an administrator account?

  • Add a homegroup password after that put Windows in place is over and a password was not entered during the set up process

    Hello

I had a hard drive crash and had a new hard drive installed.  At the end of the recovery process, I was asked to answer questions such as the choice of a language.  I also had the opportunity to put a password in a homegroup. Not entered a password.  BIG MISTAKE.  I can't reach my home group now because I do not have a password.  I don't have the ability to change the password that I never entered one in a first time.  Unless someone can help me, it seems that my only option is to make the process of recovery everywhere.  My concern, there is that I won't be able to download Microsoft Office almost again because it won't let me this time.  I activated once and he didn't allow me to activate again. But he did.  I think that he won't let me activate a third time.  Can someone tell me where I can go to add a password to my homegroup.  No help from HP or Microsoft Windows has been useful.  I have Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Hi kschoff.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

From your description, I understand that you are unable to add a password for home group after that Windows set up was complete.

I suggest you create a new group home and check.

    Hope the above information helps.
Make it happen to us and made me know the status of your question so that I can fix it as soon as possible.

    Hello

Try to delete the files and folders using check and disk cleanup if it helps. Disk clean up will help you remove unwanted and unused files, folders, and programs.
