Hello
I know it is very old thread, but I have this problem on my computer and don't really know how to solve. @MrGlHayman solution did not help and I tried also the onscreen keyboard to enter a password but nothing seems to work.
Thanks for any help
Hi Natrezim,
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
According to the request, I understand that you are unable to connect to your computer, because the password is not accepted. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.
To help solve your problem better, could you give us the following information?
- Do you receive an error message when you enter your password?
- What is the standard account or an administrator account?
- You have another user account on your computer?
If so, then I suggest you log on to the other user account and change the password of the account that you are unable to connect to and see if the problem still persists.
To change the password of the user account follow the steps below.
- Click on Control Panel
- In the Control Panel select user accounts
- Under user accounts , select account management
- Under accounts , select change password
Try the above steps and get back to us with useful information for assistance.
Thank you

Satellite A100 - BIOS password not accepted after computer take part
(Sorry if this question has been asked before, I searched through topics, but too many subjects was found.)
I have an old A100 for 3 years with no guarantee. I want to sell it so I took apart to clean dust. Everything for the motherboard. When everything has been cleaned and I reinstalled everything, I turned it on and the password of the BIOS has not been accepted. I know the password and it's OK to 100% and shift lock is not locked on.
Is it possible that the keyboard flat cable has been installed wrongly, the cable was - a.f.a.i.k - reinstalled right, because there is only one way to insert into the slot on the motherboard. (Sorry for my bad English)
Or BIOS confused and handed over to zero in some Toshiba service password? Is this possible?
The caps lock is locking itself led of lights up and can not turn off with the CAPS LOCK key.
What is the solution?
> Is it possible that the keyboard flat cable has been installed wrongly,
Connect the keyboard external usb to check (this is good if you remove the internal keyboard when checking)> Or BIOS confused and handed over to zero in some Toshiba service password? Is this possible?
No, it is impossible that this password has been reset. In any case, I've never heard -
The password on the computer is not recognized after resuming the computer from sleep mode.
Original title: windows password problem
This just started today. When I log on to the computer after having paused, it says that my password is incorrect. Caps lock is disabled and the password. Then I hard boot my computer & it will take my password. What's happening & how to fix it? Help please.
What do I do or what can I change it to something like a real password?
Now that you have at least a password that works you must run your own experiences. You might have a problem with CapsLock, NumLock or a few keys that misbehaves. Change a letter/digit at a time until the password fails, you must point in the right direction. We cannot do this for you.

password not accepted after that laptop wakes from sleep
When my laptop is on battery power and idle for a while, it goes into sleep mode. When I want to start working again, Windows does not accept my password. I need to change username, then click on my profile (which displays LOCKED) and only then Windows accept my password.
After doing a search on the net, I see other Windows 7 users have the same problem...
Hi Sean, the problem may be that the NumLock key is on in your profile.
Try this. Hit the key Windows and r and type regedit and click ok. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard and locate the InitialKeyboardIndicators value. DoubleClick on it and change the value from 2 to 0. Click ok and restart.
Let us know if this helped.

My CD/DVD has stopped working. Now if I boot my computer it crashes just on the main start screen. I have to unplug the power to the drive in order to boot my computer. Original title: user profile
My administrator user profile does not work properly, but I have a user profile that has activated the parental control that worked well for about a year and yesterday when this user logs on the desktop comes up, but after that the computer does not respond when that user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button. I ran a virus scan and spyware scan in my user admin profile and he has not found anything. I don't know what to check.
Hello rhunter15,
There may be a program to interfere with Parental controls so that we can try a few things to see if we can determine the application or program that is causing problems.
First of all, we run System File Checker to see if you have a corrupt file system.
- Click Start
- Click on all programs
- Click Accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt.
- Select the Security tab and choose "Run as Administrator"
- Click on command prompt
- Type SFC/scannow.
It will scan and repair any damaged operating system files.
To determine if there is a program because of a conflict, we recommend that you perform a "clean boot" of the computer. A clean boot is designed to disable programs and services in the background as much as possible. This helps determine which service or program can be the cause of the problem. For more information about how to perform a clean boot for troubleshooting, click the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
KB 929135 - how to solve a problem of performaing a clean boot in Windows Vista.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Once you have finished the clean boot, check again and see if you get the error of parental control.
If please post again and let us know if that helped pinpoint the problem or if you still need help.
Thank you

For some reason, I was instructed to update Flash player. I tried but the password was not accepted.
Reset the password to spawn a return to download Flash player
Password not accepted.
WHAT should I do now?
Hi mrse69610920,
It is the OS, not Flash Player to ask for the password. Please read the FAQ what userid & password I need to install Flash Player?

PSE 13 Win 8.1 will not, install "detects the computer required restarting" even after restarting the computer.
The Mac version has installed fine on my desktop. I now want to put the PC version on my laptop.
Problem solved. Seems to have been a combination of HP Support Assistant, eager to check updates and Avast2015 are not satisfied with some aspects of the installation. Ended up uninstalling Avast, installation of PSE 13 and then re - install Avast.

I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

(b) click on your user name and password (if your username do not have a password, it will identify you by clicking on your username).

HP Officejet 8500 A909a: HP Officejet 8500 A909a accepts most of the computer print control
I have had this printer for years and never had a problem. Then he stopped accepting the scan command. I went for the scanner and printing doctor and follow the guests, including the installation of the new software. Now, it scans when ordered.
BUT it does not now print. Not an image, not a document.
I was again through the guests of scanning/printing doctor, uninstalled then reinstalled the software. But nothing! However, if I put something on the screen of the printer and press the button on the printer, which will print. Is simply not wanting to accept commands from the computer.
Any ideas?
Hello @Stellabelle,
Thank you for your response.
Since you are using a USB connection, do not follow the steps I mentioned in the post above. Try the following steps:
- Unplug the USB cable from the printer to the PC.
- Go to Control Panel - programs and features and ensure that no printer Officejet from HP in the list entry. If there are, uninstall the same.
- Restart your computer.
- Click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL31041/mp-88604-3/OJP8500vA909_Full_14.exe and install the drivers.
- Connect the USB cable as long as you are prompted.
- Try to print now. If further questions, go to the next step.
- Go to http://hp.care/2c5YKY5 and expand "Manual steps to solve the problem" and follow the steps under "step 4: Verify that the correct port is selected.
- Now, try to print and check.
Hope that helps!
Good luck

Mcupdate.exe does not work after doing the Startup Repair
Good so I can't do a lot with Windows Vista Media center more. Internet TV is no longer in the main screen, the only listed programs are games, solitaire, purple place, etc. I went to thegreenbutton.com, and around the web and I can't find a solution. There is no restore point before that this error has occurred. Also, when I click on the "microsofts discovers online privacy policy", I get an error and windows is trying to find a solution. When using the Ctrl-alt-delete option and the Manager tasks appears it seems without borders. The task manager remains after the programs are all closed and will not go away, unless the computer is off.
It's called mode 'small footprint '. Double-click anywhere on the border of the Task Manager window and you will get the Menu bar in the rear.
