Path too Long for the Installation of the software
I am trying to install a version of the CAD software to one of my PCs employee. When we run the Setup file, we get an error message too long file path. The message says that the file path is 99 characters long, but the limit is 93. This seems like a terribly low limit for a C: drive.
The path goes only in a folder as well. Thus, its C:/Program Files/Autodesk / "name of file along here."
I understand long path problems when you go deep in several folders and the typical character limit is 254. I do not understand why we are running in a limited issue when you have only a single deep folder on the C: drive and only have 99 total characters in the path. Is this a problem of windows 8? Or maybe a problem with the PC itself? Is it possible to change the limit of characters on the C: drive since 93 is so short and also seems to be a random number?
Justin
Your best bet is to contact the CAD developer, we would have no way of knowing how many levels deep the software installs.

Error message: "the file names would be too long for the destination folder.
I move the files from internal hard drive to external hard drive using cut and paste. I get a message "the file name would be too long for the destination folder. You can shorten the file name and try again, or try a location with a shorter path. "I then gives me choices to skip or cancel. What happens to files that are ignored? Are they deleted? I don't want to lose all the data, but there are more 2 000 files with this problem, so passing by and rename each one really isn't a viable solution. I don't really understand how the file names were originally created/saved about a problem that is only now that I want to move them. The disc source and destination are NTFS. Is there a solution for this? It is imperative that no data is lost. Thanks for any help you can offer.

N ° to check that what I say is correct, create a new folder
for the purposes of the trial and to make a copy of some files. To ensure that
one of them has a long name (rename if necessary), and then try to copy
These files on the external drive. When you get the message, choose
'jump' and see what happens. -
use marker iff section is too long for the header
Hello everyone,
I wonder: is it possible to implement FrameMaker using a marker iff there is one on this page?
Here's the problem: I have a book with several chapters of different authors. Some of them used topics that are too long for the headers. For those I want to use markers.
I know how to display markers, which I don't want, because then I have to create a benchmark for each unique position in the book (using this master page). And I know how to view the different titles for example < $paratext [H1, H2, H3] >.
Now I'm looking for is something like this < [marker, line] $paratext >. In plain language: 'check if there is a certain marker. If there is one, show the marker, otherwise display the heading."
Then I would be able to use the same master page and would need to use markers only where a title is too long.
Thanks in advance
Dennis
Dennis,
Take a look at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3503638#3503638
You could create an alternative heading tag (for example InvisibleH1) with an invisible color in a framework anchored to it and can then use the building block <$paratext[InvisibleH1,H1,H2... etc.]="">. Just toggle the views appropriate to hide text in anchored frames.
$paratext[InvisibleH1,H1,H2...>

Literal string too long for the CLOB
Hello
My version of the database is:
Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production
PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production
AMT for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
When I run this piece of code, I get an error.
DECLARE
insCtx DBMS_XMLStore.ctxType;
lines NUMBER;
xmlDoc CLOB: = 'xml string is about 4600 long lines in TOAD...';
BEGIN
insCtx: = DBMS_XMLStore.newContext ("xmlTempTbl"); -get the context
lines: = DBMS_XMLStore.insertXML (insCtx, xmlDoc); -Insert the doc
DBMS_XMLStore.closeContext (insCtx); -close the handle
END;
ERROR:
ORA-06550: line 4, column 19:
PLS-00172: string literal too long
From my understanding a CLOB leave maximum string size of 2 GB. And on top, my xml string is not greater than 2 GB (I cannot display the xml data string, refers to the business). So why I get the error too long string literal.
For the above, I fault the XML into several parts and run the PLSQL, then it gives no error.
Please advice.

Not exactly:
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/AppDev.112/e25519/datatypes.htm#CHDDCGEEbut this isn't the real problem.
The error is about the "string literal" size, there is a limitation too:
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e17766/pcmus.htm#sthref18132PLS-00172: string literal too long Cause: The string literal was longer than 32767 bytes. Action: Use a string literal of at most 32767 bytes.
For the above, I fault the XML into several parts and run the PLSQL, then it gives no error.
Is this a real case of production or you just test?
In practice, we should first save the file in a variable/column CLOB (or XMLType) and then reference the content from there. -
"Path too long" error during extraction solution zipped
When retrieving a zipped VB.Net 2008 solution, I get an error indicating "Path too long" and the inscription NationalInstruments.Common.Native.dll.deploy (see attachment). I have recently started getting as this error message and I don't want to just choose the option 'Ignore' because I don't know if I need this file or not. Any suggestions?
Tim
I rebooted the computer and the problem disappeared. But I'll try the longpathtool if the problem comes up again and I can not solve by restarting.

Hello
Today I was backing up my files on a new hard drive that I bought a week ago, and during the copy, I received the message following 'destination path too long ".
And the file name is actually short "crouch" here is a snap of the image:http://imgkeep.com/0ij23kby74dn.html
I don't know what to do!
Original title: destination path too long?
The key factor is not the name of the file itself, but the total length of the file name and the path of the folder.
The help files for the application that you are using could tell you how long the total combination of the file-file may be [some more older can be limited to 255 characters, but I was not able to discover the current constraints].

Hello
When compiling a fairly basic FPGA VI, I get the following error:
61332 error occurred in niFpgaCompileWorker_ProcessStatusPipe.vi:1<><>
Possible reasons:
LabVIEW FPGA: An unexpected error occurred with the build tools. You try to compile the FPGA VI again could solve the problem.
The length of a line in "NiFpgaAG_0000002e_WhileLoop.vhd" is too long for xilinx 10.1. Length: 32845 Max length: 4150
Departure time: 17:22:06
End time: 17:22:12
Total time: 00:00:06Apparently, the vhdl code generator OR forgot to add some CR + LF in the intermediate files. How to work around this bug?
Kind regards
Lukas
Hi Lukas.
When LabVIEW compiles a VI, the VI is converted into virtual hard disk to be compiled into a file bit by Xilinx. As you have already understood, this error indicates that a line of code vhd had a length of 32 845 characters, which exceeds the maximum length of 4150 characters for the Xilinx 10.1.
Although 32 845 characters is very long, it is possible that this is due to the codification of LabVIEW rather than a bug. Some common causes of this problem include large enums, a matrix, or clusters in the code. Please check in your code. If you have no luck, please attach a screenshot of the code. I hope this helps!
Kind regards

Installation Partition problem (allocated too expensive for the Service Console?)
Installation Partition problem (allocated too expensive for the Service Console?)
RAID1 (15K 146 GB SAS) on Dell R710 and VMFS is on table EQL.
What I did during the ESX4.1 excavation, it's that I have used ALL the space in 146 GB (mainly for / and / var), after adding this ESX host to vCenter, VC and EQL ASM/VE started to complain about the following points:
1 VC: health check of localstorage warning (only has 245 MB left on 146SAS localstorage)
2 EQL ASM/VE: warning rootFolder folder (due to the above)
I thought that he is authorized to use all the space for / (50 GB) and / var (50 GB) in my case for only 146 GB, I don't think I need to leave any space on the installation disc.
Could someone share some lights here?
Thank you
As you can see SDS use all the SDC VMFS partition space.
This create the alarm.
The thing really confused me why I have to leave a space on the disk at all?
Technically there is no reason to let the space... but also no reason to have a big service console
Usually, you need 10 to 20% free space for each snapshot data store and Exchange files... but in your case, you will not have these files.
If you have any problems, but you receive the alarm until you do not disable them on this specific data store.
PS: I suggest you switch to ESXi, is quite simple and it doesn't have this strange vmdk for the "console".

On my new printer all-in-one HP 8610, I use A4 paper. However, whenever I try to print, whether front or front / back I get an error message saying "paper too long at Auto-duplex. If I close the window, the printer prints normally, so it isn't a big problem, but I would be quit anyway.
Hello @mussep,
Thanks for getting back to me on this subject.
Because this error appears when printing several programs on your computer, the e-all-in-one printer HP Officejet Pro 8610 there may be a problem within your printers Firmware Version of programming. Or, there may be a conflict between your Windows 7 computer and your printer HP Officejet driver. Can I please you follow the steps below to isolate this problem and fix it.
Step 1: Make a copy:
To make sure that printer hardware is working properly, I'll ask you to perform a copy on the front of your printer A4 paper. If the copy print correctly, without error messages on the printer or the paper feed issues, then we know that something on the computer is originally this printing error.
How to copy on A4 paper:
- Please load a sheet of paper for the test copy either on the flat glass on your printer or in the ADF on top of your printer
- On the front screen of the printer, please press copy
- Then, tap the settings icon on the bottom of the screen
- Under copy settings tap paper size. Please make sure that it is set to A4
- Select set as new default values. Press Yes if prompted
- Please make a Black or a color copy
- If this print-out successfully with no errors or problems paper, that the printer hardware is working properly. This seems to indicate that the problem you are having is caused by something on the computer. Can I please you proceed to the next step to resolve this problem.
- If the copy fails to print correctly, the problem you are experiencing is caused by your printer. Maybe it's a problem within the internal Firmware programming in your printer. Essentially, the Firmware is the "brain" of your printer and control that made the printer and how the printer it. If there is a corruption in the internal programming of Firmware on your printer, it may cause the printer to performance issues. Can I have it please click hereto download the last Firmware update. Once the download is complete, you will see a prompt to "run" the update of the Firmware. Please allow this to run. The Firmware Update utility is now launched. Follow the prompts on the screen to 'send' the update of the Firmware for your printer. Once the update has been completed successfully please make another test copy to confirm if your machine now copy on A4 paper. If the copy is now accepted, please print from your computer to see if the problem is now resolved. If a copy still fails, please do not continue to troubleshoot at this time.
Step 2: Uninstall the driver:
If you use a USB cable connection between your computer and your HP Officejet, please unplug this cable now.
- Click on the Start menu
- Select all programs
- Select the HP folder
- Select HP Officejet
- Select Uninstall
Please follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Delete the temporary files:
- Click on the Start menu
- In the box "search programs and files" located just above to start after you click on it, type %temp% , and then press enter on your keyboard
- When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will highlight now.
- Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. A Temp file should you will automatically get the pop up to 'jump' this point.
- Close the Temp folder when it is empty
- Right-click the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin. Please proceed to the next step.
Step 4: Install the device:
- Please click here to download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet.
- Once the download is complete, follow the prompts on the screen to install your printer
- If you use a USB cable connection, do not connect the USB cable until the installation program invites you to
Once the installation is complete, please test print from your computer to confirm if the "too long in the Auto-Duplex document" error is resolved.
Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

downloaded file too big for the flash player movie
I downloaded a HD movie on my computer, but I want to put it on a Sandisk 32 GB flash drive. When I tried to drag it to the flash drive, it says that the file could not be copied because it was too big for the size of the volume. The site I downloaded the movie says something about the use of IGetter. I Igetter in my applications, but it does not open because it says it's a developer not identified. (This may be before Yosemite download.) Anyway, my question is, is it possible to download and save a movie on a flash drive?
You must clear the disc in one format other than FAT32 or to segment the file so that the files are smaller than 4 GB.

When you try to print in Firefox and when the scale to the size of the page in the page layout, the first page prints correctly, but the following pages do not scale correctly and are too large for the paper, with the parts of the text are cut off at top and right. It is not fixed by checking or unchecking the scaling / shrink to fit page width "ignore" in the print window, or by changing the scale percent.
I am running Firefox 15.0.1, on Mac OS 10.5.8.
The same problem happens in preview print and if I save the copy in a .pdf file
I tried all the fixes in the how to and others in various forums with no improvement.
This happens everytime I try to print a document from scaling upwards or downwards in Firefox.
I note the bug has been fixed and should in Firefox 21 right now, it will mean the use night http://nightly.mozilla.org/
