    Hi there @fanhp,

You asked what BIOS you need to use on your HP Pavilion dx6667cl laptop PC. First of all, I want to welcome you to the HP support community!

I went to your HP Pavilion dx6667cl laptop and the drivers Download Page PC software also, and you are right. The BIOS download file: sp39862.exe for Windows Vista is l58 A version. This version was the latest version was updated October 20, 2014, for your laptop. This should be the version you are using, because it is later.

You happen to know how you're done with F.59? You download it somewhere? If your laptop works correctly when you use the F.59, I wouldn't worry too much about, however, if you have any questions, I would suggest that return you to the l58 a version to eliminate complications.

The download description says "this package contains the WinFlash utility and a system of image of the BIOS for the notebook models and operating systems. The WinFlash utility is used to locally Flash system (ROM) BIOS on laptops running in a Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System environment. »

  • HP Pavilion e051sh 17 Notebook, BIOS is incomplete.

HP Pavilion e051sh 17 Notebook, BIOS is incomplete. Please, how can I upgrade the BIOS in the system? Thank you

What leads you to believe that the BIOS is incomplete?

What do you feel is missing?

If the laptop turns on, goes through the POST (power on self test) and then boots into Windows, then the BIOS is complete and operational.

If your laptop was in warranty service, there is the possibility that the serial number of the laptop and other identifying information was not in the BIOS. Is that what happened? Otherwise if you happened to use the change utilities you might have made a few changes to the BIOS. Please notify.

  • HP Pavilion dm4-3005 serious bug BIOS/drivers - ACPI.sys blocks constantly DPC to 3 milliseconds

Some of our users reported problems with the HP Pavilion dm4, Intel i5, portable audio beats, so we bought such a system for the test, a HP Pavilion dm4-3005. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The questions were dropouts sound while using the software and USB audio interfaces that we do.

Now, we have confirmed the questions and analyzed the cause behind it.

The computer suffers from a DPC latency bottleneck, that fires continually in the OS ACPI.sys driver.

("CPD" is a regular work of pilots (Deferred Procedure Call).)

Each DPC planned by each driver must always end quickly (less than 100 microseconds), or it causes a bug which acts as a bottleneck. When a long DPC runs in a driver, all other drivers are often necessarily suspended, for example, on a machine that behaves in the way reported, Windows can not reliable service all the drivers that need to run more often than once every 3-4 milliseconds.

Low latency is necessary for all reception record, DAW, music app, software synth, as well as pro audio interface hardware drivers.

Because of the congestion, they all suffer from heavy sound artifacts more use cases / underallocations for the pilot of the audio interface. This includes our products but also in any other software low latency and USB audio interfaces.

HP Pavilion dm4-3005 has in this way from the factory, and no matter what drivers are disabled or set to date.
I ran all the critical updates for installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I downloaded and installed all the updates driver from HP support.

Finally, I also downloaded the BIOS update that available to HP support.

I also followed several guides to address these issues, including advice prevailing to disable the driver "ACPI Compliant control method battery" in Device Manager (Edit: filled in the name of the pilot.)

    Does not the initial problem.

I guess it's a bug in the BIOS - which has yet to be resolved by HP or their partner of BIOS for this product.

I have the computer factory reset and ready for testing your solution, when it will be available.

As it is now, we must warn our users of these systems because of their unusable latency.

HP is aware of this problem?

    Thank you very much

    Hello world

I have good news for you, dm4-30xx users!

The new BIOS is completed and will be published shortly by HP (need to package configuration file and write the documentation now...). The update of the BIOS version will be the F.0B.

However, I have access to the "raw" version of this new BIOS. I can send it to you if you ask me, but in this case, you will assume any bad use of this file. In this case, please send me your mail by MP.

The official release will not take much time, so I think it's best that you wait.

    Best regards!

All you can do now is to keep checking back to see if the page has been restored.

I wrote an iso for Win7 64 bit on a flash drive (as ive done in the past with other computers I've owned) but to the immediate departure of the installation, I get this message in a window "load driver":

P.S. I do not pay HP for their recovery disks.  Do not offer as a solution please.  I have spent a lot of money on this laptop already, they do not get anything from me.

The recovery disks made on the other laptop don't work - unless it is the same model.

  • Pavilion dv7-6b63us: update Bios

I have a Pavilion dv7-6b63us laptop.  I went into the Windows in file Explorer folder, msinfo32.exe entries in the search block and found that my Bios version is dated F.02 03/10/2011.  Then, I went to the section drivers and downloads for HP software and clicked on the Bios, and they showed a version of Bios F.1C dated 18/02/2016.  I downloaded the version F.1C and save my download folder.  It is safe for me to install this version of Bios on my laptop?  I read somewhere that you could be in a lot of trouble if you install a version of Bios that is not intended for your computer.  Can someone make sure it's OK to go ahead and install the Biso F.1C version?

If the fan does not work, then it sounds like a bad fan sensor or a bad connection going to the sensor.

The upgrade of the BIOS will not solve the error message fan you are experencing. In addition, it is not recommended that you upgrade the BIOS if the fan is malfunctioning under the fan kicks in full throttle during the upgrade as a precaution. If the fan does not work and you upgrade the BIOS and overheating of the computer will power off computer and will be probably corrupted BIOS and brick your computer.

  • Pavilion a6220n: updated my BIOS after Windows 7 is already installed

    Hello.

I bought an a6220n Pavilion in 2008 because he was very progressive.  In 2010, I updated the video card with an ATI Radeon 4770 and upgraded to 4 GB of RAM.

Recently, I backed up all my stuff and restored the computer to factory settings.  I installed 8 GB of RAM. Then I started Windows 7-64 bits of an installation disc.

So now Windows 7-64 bit is up and running.  I think so.  Internet seems to be very slow.   It recognizes the 8 GB of RAM and video card, video card driver, and other system drivers are up to date.

I want to spend my CPU to a Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33 Ghz, but in order to do this, I'll probably have to update my BIOS.   But when I try to update my BIOS Installer tells me this:

While this means?  I need to restore to Windows Vista, upgrade the BIOS and then install on Windows 7?

Or is the BIOS of Windows 7-compatible Windows Vista?  If this is not the case, where can I get the version of Windows 7?

    Jj3down, welcome to the forum.

You can only update the BIOS to the operating system that came with the computer.  In your case, Vista.  This means that you need to perform a system recovery to return the computer to its original configuration.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

    Hello:

You should be able to use the W7 x 64 divers and the software of the g7z-2100 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

In addition to the information above, you will need to install the drivers for the amd chipset and restart the PC.

The chipset drivers install the smbus and usb3 controllers.  You want the first file on the Web page.

  • Pavilion 500-150: HP Bios Lock-Down?

    Hi all

So I was looking for forums and thought that I had asked here: so we got a new machine and the kids want to play games, but some games do not allow internal graphics. I want to install a graphics card but do not know if it will allow the motherboard (Bios). It has a PCI slot for one but don't want to buy and install have the fans turn but have the Bios block.

I have the power supply to upgrade the installed plant. I intend to buy XFX Radeon R7 240 2 GB DDR3 PCIe 3.0x16, video Cardinal any who think that a time I unstall drivers for the graphics of the plant and install new drivers, Bios it hangs in? Thanks in advance.

    Hi _driver51,

I can not find the product for your model specification, are you sure it's 500-150? or it's 550-150.

I can suggest you only focus on the speed of PCIe, the BIOS is not a problem when changing the graphics card, but you must make sure that your motherboard has the correct port for the graphics card. In this case, chetanrao_tech GeForce GTX645 sugested that is PCIe 3.0 x. Looking for a Radeon R7 240, which is also PCIe 3.0 x.

I was looking for your model and I found 2 options:

    • The closest is the Pavilion 500-164, it supports the PCIe 2.0 x and the before mentioned graphics cards are * NO * supported, be careful.
    • The other model near your is the Pavilion 550-150, this one has a PCIe 3.0 connector x available. and previously the two mentioned graphics cards are supported completely.

Can you take a look at your model number again just to be sure it was OK?
