2. the screen is black, how to get to the key of resettlement?

3. I have no dvd with Windows 10.

4. are there opportunities to wake my computer?

Sorry, but we don't have access to your PC, so we have no way of knowing how much damage was inflicted and (therefore) have no way to answer your question is to how to be saved.

We need to know if your PC comes with preinstalled Win10 or if you upgraded a previous OS and if so, the version of the previous operating system.

What we can do here is provide some troubleshooting steps you can take.

First thing I would do, is try to follow these guidelines to confirm the hard drive is OK: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support

If the hard drive has failed, you will need to replace and order HP recovery media to restore your PC to working conditions, and until you have done, there is little value to test anything else.

If the hard drive has not failed, here are a few troubleshooting steps you should try:

HP Notebook PC - hardware failures (10, 8 Windows) screening | HP® customer support

Black screens with no start-up or start-up error message. HP® customer support

Regarding the Win10 install media, you can make a DVD or a USB key from this link: install Windows 10 using the tool of creation of media - Windows help

NOTE: Be sure to select the SAME version of Win10 that was running on your PC.  When downloading on the original PC, the tool knows which version is right, but since you're using another PC, there is no way of knowing that.  IF you download a different version, it will NOT be activated.

If you are not able to run ANY diagnostic because you cannot wake the portable computer, then your only recourse will be to send or bring in a HP repair center to fix it - and it the laptop is not under warranty, which can be very expensive!

Here is information on Service Centers: HP Notebook PC - use a repair center certified HP to repair a laptop | HP® customer support

Good luck

    Hi KERRYYX,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. What is the full error message that you receive?
    5. Are you able to restart and shut down the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    Hi, Henrik:

Specifications of your PC seem to meet all of the hardware requirements to be able to fully run W7.

    P D 915 processor is capable of 64-bit.

    ( (4M-Cache-2_80-GHz-800-MHz-FSB http://ark.intel.com/products/27515/Intel-Pentium-D-Processor-915-)

I recommend you max on your memory to 4 GB as a 64-bit operating system requires more memory to run a 32 bit OS.

A 32 bit OS will perform better on a PC that is running less than 4 GB of memory, unless you need a 64-bit system to run 64-bit programs.

I would also start the W7 Upgrade Advisor to confirm what I posted.

  • I am buying a new computer without an operating system installed and you want to know if my Windows 7 Upgrade disk can be used to install Windows 7?

I'll buy a kit of barebones without preinstalled operating system and was wondering if I could use my Windows 7 upgrade disk to install Windows on the new PC.

    Short answer 'NO '.

Upgrade means upgrade. An upgrade can only be used to upgrade a previous version of XP or Vista. You will need to purchase a full retail or OEM version to install on a computer without an operating system.

Reboot, or power on the laptop and immediately after that the Sony Vaio logo disappears, press the F10 key several times. This brings you to the built-in recovery Partition.

You can reinstall the operating system from there.

  • Windows Vista has crashed, "the operating system not found" error, can I load Windows XP on a partition?

I have an Acer Aspire 5516, with pre-installed Windows Vista. I didn't know that it did not come with a recovery disk UNTIL my system crashed! During a routine virus scan, I got a blue screen saying a major problem has been found and the system has been shut down. I followed the instructions to gracefully shut down my laptop. When I turned this back on after the "Acer" logo he went to a black screen with info on my computer and the last line States "not found operating system". That's when I discovered there was no recovery disc & it is integrated into the system. To access this system you we F8 to enter safe mode, then Alt F10 to access 'erecovery management system. Neither one of these functions operate! Still getting the black screen with "operating system" not found I have a Windows XP my laptop previous. What I was wondering is if I can load on my Acer, possibly on a partition, in order to be able to get into my laptop and save all of my files? I'm terrified of losing everything I have! I have thousands of pictures that I can't replace. If anyone can help please do! I am on a very limited income & can not really afford professional help. Thank you very much in advance!

    Hello

normally with an Acer you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the hidden recovery partition recovery, not F8, then this combo

but you do not have an option to save your data, that

in daily use acers normally have a system partition, a partition of data to save your data, etc. to and also this hidden partition recovery

    and read this on data recovery, too;

    Data recovery

    1. remove the hard drive and it slave in another computer

2 buy or borrow a USB disk drive hard put in yout case then plug it into another computer and read the hard drive like this

    3. try Knoppix

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

BUT this method 3 depends on your hardware in the computer that failed

read this information about method 3:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

Download the Vista software from the link above.

After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1 in the boot order.

Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  • I upgraded my computer, the new operating system on a new hard drive. Want to get my favorites on Firefox off my old drive, but can't find the file.

I upgraded my computer, adding a second hard disk for a new operating system and kept the old drive as a data disc. I assumed that I could install Firefox on the new disk and import my favorites from the old installation of Mozilla on the old disk. I can't find the files on the old drive with my favorites. They're still here, or when I reinstalled Firefox, I lost everything even if it was on another drive? I can't find the backup on the old disk files and want to restore my old favorites. Is it possible to do this?

You must find your profile folder in the old drive, the way in which must be:

    1. First display the hidden files and folders:

    2. Then go to:
      • < old drive >: \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles \Users\ < username >
    3. Enter in your profile, and then enter the folder bookmarkbackups .
    4. Copy the latest file from json (backup of bookmarks)
    5. Then restore from them:

Desktop HP wil not boot Windows. I get a message stating that the drive on which Windows is installed is locked. This problem occurred shortly after downloading the OS of Windows 10. I discuss this issue in detail with a Microsoft representative and after exhusting many troubleshooting options concluded that I had to restore my computer to its factory settings. I can't access the image at all, and the image of the software on the Microsoft Web site is no longer usable by the machines purchased in a retail store. I bought my computer directly from HP via Amazon. This has happened a few months ago. I have been using a Linux OS as a temporary for solution. However, I run into problems of compatibility found and would like to have the Win7 (or Win10) operating system dos.

Should I order a kit recovery or is their way I can download a Win7 of images on line? I have my 25 digit key.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post you need to restore your PC to its original state and wanted to help.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media. It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site
and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific computer or motherboard model number.

If there are Windows XP drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn it to a CD/DVD.
Then, after installing XP on your new computer install all device drivers, starting with the mother/chipset, LAN, Audio, USB, SATA card, drivers, and so on.

    Notes:

If there is no XP driver not listed that your computer is not compatible Windows XP.
