Pavilion 23 Ho56 Touch smart: create recovery disks in windows 10

When I update to windows 10 8.1, I'll be able to make a new set of recovery disc or I have to use my 8.1 set of recovery CD and I'll still be able to upgrade (if my system crashed and I have to use my recovery disc for windows 8.1) readers Windows 10 even if it is after the deadline of July 2016?

Hello

Although you can not create a new set of HP Recovery Media for Windows 10 (that the option is available for the original operating system supplied with machine), if you must reinstall Windows 10, as long as it has been previously activated, you can just do a clean install as stated in the guide on the following link.

I just had a phone completely frustrated with HP support so thought I would try here.

PC of a friend had a boot and data.  I found the hard drive to be bad with the on-board diagnostic systems of the PC, the hard drive, without SMART tests.  I was able to save a large part or all of the data.  However, the PC was basically unable to operate.  Try to start in all but the BIOS or diagnoses would fail.  The owner recovery disks never did.  But the recovery partition seems to be intact.

I was able to save with Todo Backup & Recovery partitions and restore them on another hard drive.  She, of course, wouldn't boot either.  I have Win7 installed on the primary partition on the new hard drive successfully.  I have no way to use the recovery partition and there is content, however.

I called HP to see reference and the price for a set of recovery disc.  I have been informed that, since the original OS is XP (Media Center, btw), that the recovery discs are no longer available.  Irresponsible in my mind, but it is what it is.

    That leaves two questions:

    (1) is there a source for the recovery disc for this product?

    (2) is it possible to use the recovery Partition to create recovery disks or recover the initial installation of the operating system on the new hard drive to a new installation of the OS?  Currently, Windows 7 32-bit is installed.  I have the means to install XP Pro, Win7 32 - or 64 - bit, or Win8 64 bit on this partition.

At this point, I'm trying to put it back the way it was.  I know I could install just Win7/8/8.1 and be - assuming appropriate drivers exist for all.  But at this point, I'm trying to get the PC running at a lower cost.  Which, seems to me, would be to get XP Media Center, re-installed at minimal or no cost in more the new HD.

Any constructive contribution would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello:

I can answer your first question only.

You can still get a set of recovery disc for this provider model.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-12647-recovery-kit-5092-5956-for-HP-model-number-a1640n.aspx

I would venture to guess that you can not do anything with the recovery partition.

  • Satellite A300D - creating recovery disk problem

    Hello.

I have Toshiba Satellite A300D-11 t (extended A300D-11) and I would like to create recovery disk. Problem is that I can't run the Toshiba Recovery disk creation tool. There is no shortcut in the start menu.
I tried to run Program Files.

Program itself exists (or at least I think it does), there are files in the Program Files folder, in "Programs and features" program is also so I could remove it.
Simply click on the file TosRDC.exe (or any other file *.exe in this case) and it does not start.

For memory - recovery partition exists and has not been changed.

System - Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
    What should do?

    Hello

I would say to pick up the machine from the disk and then, immediately after the machine, you should try to create a recovery disk. It could be that something in the meantime destroyed some piece of software in your operating system that could be the reason of this problem.

Maybe not a very elegant solution but the only one that works every time.

    Welcome them

  • Could not create Recovery DISK 2

    Hello

I just bought a new computer laptop Toshiba Satellite M300/700 and tried to create recovery disks (4 DVD)
I managed to create DVDs 1,3 & 4 with No Problem, but couldn't have created the DVD 2.
I tried so many times and all failed after about 10 minutes of running, I've always had the same error messages like below:

"The question has occurred when saving the data on the disk,
the current pprocess will be stopped.
    A power calibration area error.
Please check if the disc is scratched or dirty.
If so, please try again with a new disc.

    (Error code: 0E01B5-26-00037304) "

I searched on Google for this problem, then it worked once I used a format r
any reason that he worked not + R DVD (all brand TDK Gold).

I used several laptops has never had this type of problem.

What this means, is repeated defective program or is defective DVD writer?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. I guess this can happen because of Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. I don't know where you bought this laptop but there is a difference between recovery systems in Europe, Australia or US, but presumably also Toshiba recovery disc creator is the same for all laptops Toshiba worldwide.

So, if you created the recovery media using DVD-R blank, it's OK and take care of them. You can use them for the installation of Vista more far. To be honest, I use only on DVD-R media. Somehow, I do not like the format +.

What you can do is to use a third party as Nero software and test if it works with the DVD + R/RW media.

    > I used several laptops has never had this type of problem.
Sorry, but we are discussing about Toshiba recovery disc creator and this software is probably not available on all these laptops you ve had in the past. If you have noticed this problem with Toshiba tool it doesn't mean another burning application cannot handle with DVD + r/RW media.

If please test and let us know how it works.

    Good bye

  • Failed to create recovery disk

    Hello!

I apologize in advance for my English.

After a year of perfect operation, I decided to completely restore my system (Windows Vista Home, HDX 18 Premium, 64-bit) using the hidden partition. Everything was fine.

A week ago, my PC didn't start because he does not recognize the hard drive: no operating system found. No partition has been found, even the hidden (in my system is E).

I tried to reset the BIOS and I was right: the booted system, performed all necessary diagnostics and load Windows.

So, I decided to create a recovery disk to restore the system, even if no partition is found.

But I have been unable to create recovery disks because the Recovery Manager utility froze, did not write any DVD, and after three hours, I had to turn off the PC, because nothing happened.

My creation of recovery disks is slightly different from the pictures I've seen in many forums: instead of asking what kind of media, I would like to use (DVD, CD) and how many of them is needed, it simply shows a green bar: writing files, from 0% to 100%. When he arrived at 100%, it froze and nothing happened.

Now I can not create a new set of disk (the program starts, but its window disappears immediately), even if the PC is running and I could (probably) restore the system using the hidden partition.

    Now:

    (1) are useful recovery disks if the hard drive is not recognized at all?

    (2) since it is possible to create a set of disks only, the failure of the attempt account?

    Thank you!

You are welcome. Be sure to also follow the Macrium prompt to create a bootable cd. Label it as Macrium rescue and set aside to care for the child. Then whenever you need to restore your laptop to your Image backups, just boot with the cd and it guides you through it. Works even if Windows is too damaged to start.

  • Satellite L505-141 - recovery disk contains Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello

I bought my computer in the year around March last. I had with laptop computer operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Lately I think the format of my laptop using the recovery CD that I have receviced with the laptop. I don't know why, but the recovery CD Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit! Why its not 64-bit and 32-bit?

The laptop comes with 6 GB of Ram and Core i5 and I won't enjoy my laptop with 32-bit operating system. Is this normal? I was suppose to get the 32-bit operating system (really wired if you a laptop with 6 GB of memory). This really makes me feel angry. I feel that I have been cheated.

If ts the company I bought the laptop in and not the fault of Toshiba, I ask and investigation or something like that since they really make a bad name for you guys.

Please answer me as soon as possible.

    TNX,
    Andrei Braunstein.

    Hello

Before you wrote things that are not correct, please first check the specs on the Web from Toshiba site and take a look at your * user manual *!

The laptop comes with a recovery disk which is Windows 7 32 bit, so everything is ok with this disc and you got the right pair.

The interesting point is that the recovery disc for Windows 7 64-bit, you must create yourself such as mentioned in * user manual *! You can create this disk preinstalled use Toshiba recovery media creator. You need blank DVDs to create discs and that s all. After that do what you can to restore the preinstalled Windows 7 64 bit every time when you want to.

Now it s too late to do that, but you can order a recovery disc here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

I can understand you he would do better to use Windows 64 bit on a laptop with 6 GB of RAM but don t forget some old don t on 64-bit applications and 32 bit necessary. In addition I m wondering you n t saw a message that reminds you to create the recovery disk. This message that you get after you first start your computer:
    + Important INFORMATION +.

+ your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need repair.
+ your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly.

  • Satellite L305-S5917 cannot create recovery disk

    I have a Satellite L305-S5917.

Yesterday I tried to create the recovery disk with the recovery disc creator, and then when I put a DVD + R, it says 'another application is using that drive or no recordable discs are recognized on your PC. Please check the status of the drive. (Error code: 0D00E4-F0-00000000). »
I also try with DVD - R, but I wasn't too. Someone tell me what is the problem with my laptop and how do I create a recovery disc.

    Thank you

    Hello

This error message does not for me.
You have installed an application like Nero CD/DVD burning?

Maybe an enforcement agent runs in the background and optical disc drive is permanent in the surveillance state. Restart your laptop, check the substantive activities and make sure that nothing can be responsible for this drive blocking.
The STRANGE is properly recognized in Device Manager?

One last thing: for creation of recovery media I would recommend to use high quality DVD-R virgins.
I had the best experience with TDK and Verbatim.
