• Need help with USB 3.0 on desktop Pavilion 500-214

  I am currently the owner of desktop HP Pavilion 500-214.

  I noticed that the USB 3.0 ports do not seem to work.  Tried with 2 different brands of USB cables now.

  I connect my Samsung S5 with USB 3.0 desktop.  It connects to the 3.0 for a few seconds and then gives the message "cannot connect USB 3.0 devices.

  Does anyone else have this problem?  If so, how to fix?  Or the troubleshooting steps that you might suggest?

Get the message that downloads wou; LD will be faster with USB 2.0 - the PC has obviously 1.0 only.   Upgrade to 2.0 involves a hardware change? the volumes of material (chips on motherboard) host or software drivers controllers? Or both?  I tried to research and have read dozens of articles on many sites - and still did not find the answer... Can be upgraded this computer XP (by me)?

  You have posted in the forum of the laptop.  The model number indicates that you have a desktop PC, correct?

  If so, you must use a PCI card with USB 2.0 port. According to PC specifications for your machine, you have a free PCI slot to install such a card.

  The card should come with drivers. If it is not it means it should be automatically detected and installed.

  I want to buy a hard drive external backup storage and extra for my desktop pc HP Pavilion Media Center m7790e with Vista Home Premium.  I understand that the flows are much faster with USB 3.0.  I have 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back of the pc and 2 USB 2.0 ports at the front of the PC.  Some of these ports are upgraded to USB 3.0?  There is only 1 slot PCI-E on the motherboard and it is currently occupied by the graphics card.  Thank you.

  No, no point to do so because the chipset on the map inside is ONLY for USB - 2. But according to spare PCIe slots on your machine, you can buy PCI USB3 card such as one of these:

• How to access the BIOS on a Pavilion Elite e9237c with mouse and keyboard wireless?

  I have a desktop computer Pavilion Elite e9237 with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I tried to access the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup with no luck, and I can't access any of the other menus for the start-up eiither. I don't have a PS/2 port on my computer, so I can't get a wired keyboard and mouse. Does anyone know how to access the BIOS with this configuration?

  I bought a USB keyboard and he answered in the same way... No bios access. I then studied why it did not work and discovered that it was the way in which he has been connected to the computer. I had initially plugged into a USB hub when he was not working and I moved it directly into a USB port and it works! I plugged my keyboard wireless directly into the USB port and it works too!   Hello, my Pavilion p6608f came with 4 GB of RAM. I want to upgrade. By HP features, the motherboard is a MSI ms-7613 and it should support up to 16 GB of RAM (4 x 4 GB DIMMS). I bought 4 DIMM which seem to fit specifications, but the computer wouldn't POST after installation. I tried reseating the DIMMs, but no luck. My hypothesis is that the memory is not compatible.  I'm unable to find good information on the compatible memory for this computer on the site of Kingston, MSI site, or the site of HP. (Any ideas on one) why the memory I bought is not compatible and b) how to find compatible memory?

  Saw that Crucial guarantees their recommendations, I'd go with it.  You may contact their Customer Service to see what they have to say if you are still skeptical.  I have recommended Crucial memory for years without reports of incorrect memory being received.

• Big problems with USB devices

  Since I upgraded to El Capitan I have several, serious problems with USB devices:

  1 USB hard drive: everything by watching a video from an external hard drive, the hard drive will be to disassemble all the minutes, the video will be of course hang and it takes 45-60 seconds until the drive reconnects. I also can not boot from any external hard drive more. Booting from a USB key works fine.

  2. I can't transfer my Sunny BT11 of beam data more. The Sunny Beam is a device that records the data of my photovoltaic plant. The overview of the system he sees when connected via USB, however he is not recognized and so I can't transfer data files. Also, it makes not a difference if it is connected via a USB hub or directly, the two versions do NOT work. In the Finder preferences, all devices are controlled to display on the desktop.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n246se and problems with USB 3.0 does not properly. First of all, you need to remove all USB devices.

  In Device Manager uninstall everything that is listed in the USB devices. Restart the computer after the uninstall, it must be reinstalled automatically. Then put in the USB devices and it should update all drivers.

  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that may need updating.

• Problems with USB 3.0

  Hello people!

  I'm here with a need for help to solve a problem that I recently got after reinstalling my windows 7.

  The problem is with USB 3.0 driver, which does not react to any device I plug on two of the ports, and they are not dead I checked that. I tried to re - install USB 3.0 drivers as well and downloaded from HP site for my model, the latest version has failed so I tried with the other older and did not work as well. Only my two USB 2.0 ports work.

  I don't know if there are any other versions or drivers that I could use, those for my model don't work for some reason, and this is the first time I did re-installation of windows for that.

  I would be very grateful if someone could help me solve this problem!

  3 USB ports are backward compatible with USB 2.
