Pavilion a1516: RC410 MB Board

I have an old HP Pavillion with Mo/Council RC410-M REV:1.1 a1516 and the CPU is cooked due to the last owner never clean inside. I have a spare Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - 3 GHz Dual-Core processor and I was wondering if it would be ok to put in it. There is no other damage and I do not know if this processor was allowed to go up then I have a machine of barrier. I also wonder what takes the quantity max of RAM this Board. I would be grateful for any help. Thank you

I say this because the processor you have installed is released after the date of the BIOS version installed on your PC.

I begin troubleshooting on a Pavilion dv6915nr, when you press the power button power LED, battery LED, the fan turns to the top, and light on the switch panel. the HARD disk LED flashes, no post beeps and a black LCD screen. I replace the motherboard and still have the same question. I tried to do a reset of the power (hard reset). still no change in the system. I pulled two DIMMS and received "no beeps memory" at the station. I get no video on internal LCD or external monitor. I swapped the LCD inverter with a well known ups and still no change in the system. I have not a spare known good LCD display for Exchange and test functionality. I wonder if the LCD panel itself is dead or if the new systemboard is degraded or DOA.

  • Compaq Presario 2545US upgrade (DC970A) CPU, compatible CPU?

I have a HP Pavilion nx9010 (DV134U) for parts for my Compaq Presario 2545US (DC970A). It's practically a twin, internal differences only being their mothers and processor cards. The Presario's 31KT9MB0030 system board and CPU Pentium 4 d 2.40 GHz (SL6RZ). The Pavilion has 31KT9MB0056 system board and CPU Pentium 4 d 2.80 GHz (SL6PF). My question is whether I would be able to run the nx9010 CPU in the 2545US without a critical thermal problems. They both have the same 3-fan and heatsink of huge heat cooling system.

Any help, advice and information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

According to some old posts here by Clinton Tam, it seems that the Presario will work until a 2.80 GHz CPU P4 - D. In the manual, in the list of replaceable parts, it was available with other processors P4 - D. I saw no motive P4s. In the list of spare parts on the HP Business Support site for the nx9010, it was available with several processors P4 - D, not the P4s Mobile only. The difference is in the motherboards. The motherboard in the 31KT9MB0030 Presario 2545US (326682-001) and those in the Pavilion nx9010 is 31KT9MB0056 (344178 001). 30 is not the voltage regulator / VRM necessary for the performance of a portability, or Mobile P4. 56 the fact. Thus, the Presario I can only run the P4 - D processors and the nx9010 that I can run simultaneously P4 - D and M - P4 CPU.

    Hello @pxj,

I understand that your laptop keyboard does not work, and that your alternative keyboard does not work as well. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

As your drivers available of the system does not contain the keyboard for Windows 7 drivers, I recommend you to get a drive recovery to re - install Windows Vista on your system. This can be done by following this document on getting a HP recovery disks or USB HP recovery disc.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

    PhilmoIBM,

There are several revisions of the Council M2n78 - LA. (like LasVegasWireMan) would testify. What is happening is the NVidia chip controller fails. You said "the only time I could get F10. She showed no boot device. "   That really explains it. Your motherboard is bad.

This series of motherboard has been installed in many different models of HP computers. There are problems.

  • Pavilion dv6t-1200 Notebook System Board part number identification

I am obliged by replacing the Board system/card mother for model Pavilion dv6t-1200 FV161AV (grilled, painful, do not ask :-().  The maintenance manual identifies 5 part numbers of possible candidates.  I eliminated three of claim, but I can't do it between two others to identify and order I need.  The two remaining candidates are listed as:

511863-001 for models with graphical subsystem UMA memory

518433-001 for models with UMA and GM47 chipset graphics card

The processor is a Core2Duo T6400 (labeled AW80577T6400; 2.00/2M/800).  Two other large chips are the I/O chip that is an Intel AF82801IBM (L920NA92; SLB8Q ' 06 Taiwan) and chart/memory chipset called AC826M45; SLB94; EB920A510 and contains a logo Intel "i".  The I/O chip does not say much, but when google, seems to have associated the GM45 many including the GM47 is a member.  However, the AC826M45 seems to be a member of the Intel 845 chipset family.  The first suggests the 518433-001, but the latter suggests the 511863-001.  The FV161AV also seems to get associated with the 518433-001 in the vendor's documentation, but it varies.  Photos on the Internet have insufficient resolution to compare with the current motherboard to see who is right.

Are there references that a person (for example at HP, perhaps) is that he or she can check to disambiguate on this?  I have included all the reference numbers as I could but if more are needed, please ask.  Any help would be welcome and thanks a lot in advance.

Never mind!  I didn't know that there was a tag just below the memory.  All this time, it was under the memory.  I removed the memory and there it was:

    518433 001

And I spent hours trying to understand some chips that did not exist on the Board of Directors.  These are the times you think that you are being so smart, but prove that you can be stupid enough.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Pavilion dv7-4269wm: Board battery replacement

The laptop has been damaged, likely dropped, while I was out of town. He would not turn the installed battery or with the battery removed and the applied voltage. A friend of my wife who didn't watch over machine computer repair and managed to get to power up with the battery removed. He told me that I could continue to use the machine, but that battery card was broken and when the battery has been installed it would short-circuit power. It also noted that there are some capacitors that are bulging in the corner where the ethernet port. He has not been too concerned about default capacitors but doesn't mention that area would get hot. The region gets pretty hot to cause a thermal cut-out when used without a dull chill. I was told that the jury of the battery could not repaired or replaced. I was wondering if there is a way to repair this machine. Thanks in advance for your time.

Yes there is no separate part called a Board of the battery. The battery plugs into the motherboard. Here is the Manual:

  • Complete Pack of drivers for HP Pavilion g6-2379er with Windows 7 on board

    Hello

I recently bought the HP Pavilion g6-2379er. Initially, he had no OS, no drivers in the package. So I installed Windows 7, but it appeared that there are no drivers for Windows 7 on your website. Is it possible to use Windows8 drivers for Windows 7? Will there be conflict? If there's place, is there a specific directory or an Internet link to the help that I can download complete drivers pack, applicable to my machine, sutable for Windows 7?

    Ahh. Indeed.

I forgot on the cheaper option. Of course, the downside of that is that you are now facing... Where do you find a Windows operating system that you like and all the drivers?

The simplest solution would be to install Windows 8, since all drivers necessary are on HP web support portal I linked in the previous post.

Usually a laptop with switchable graphics has the amount shown on the box somewhere. Don't count on that being the case, since it is a premium option.
