• HP Pavilion DV2000: Recovery disks

  I had to reinstall windows after a HARD disk crash. After the installation of Windows 10, I tried to create recovery discs. Windows comes to the verification phase and then says it cannot complete the task. I tried to erase the drives and Windows says it can't complete the task. I tried to copy and paste the D drive and that doesn't work either. I use Phillips dvd double layer and the issue is not the disks. What can I do to make the recovery discs as Windows seems to block the creation?

  You can not HP factory recovery disks after upgrading to win 10.

  You can also copy and paste the recovery partition. D: drive is now useless. It helps nothing.

  What you need to do is go here and download Win 10 Microsoft installation media.

  If you want the recovery media Win 8 HP, you can buy HP recovery discs. The product number you provided is not specific. I can't direct you to the HP site to achieve this goal.

Im trying to do the new SSD as main hard drive, it should be a nice update for this, but the recovery won't let me go ahead because its detecting the new hard drive less than the size of the factory, new ssd is 120 g vs the 1 original t. If I'm screwed? or is there some other way than to buy a new copy of windows 7?

  You have a number as three ways to proceed;

  (1) you can 'clone' of your current hard drive to the new SSD. This can be done with either the current installation of Windows or after you run the current hard disk recovery process. Please see PCMag - how to clone a hard drive for more information on the subject.

  (2) If you can still read the 25 characters on the COA affixed Microsoft Windows product key at the bottom of the computer, you can install Windows 7 Home Premium using this key. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

  I am only 2 HP Pavilion p6310y PC owner bought just for more than a year. We had a hard drive fail. It's a WD 1 TB drive. I bought a Seagate 2 TB in replacement. On the pc, I did a game or recovery discs, I tried to use on the computer that had the hard disk crash. He starts to reformat the hard disk, but crashes then gives an IO error. Nothing is connected with the exception of the mouse, the keyboard and the monitor. I tried to pull the CMOS battery for 10 minutes, put it back, but it did the same thing and hang up or gives me the error of e/s. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  It found discussions of the loss of any SATA drive. The culprit seems to be overheating the NVidia chip on the motherboard.   You must call HP and register your complaint.

  I'll post a picture bit that shows what should look like a recovery partition.

  In Windows Explorer, click this computer. The following image shows how the recovery partition should look like. It should be blue, not red and display the free space. This image is my current loan of the product HP Omen 15-5000 series gaming notebook.

  

  The following image shows what the recovery partition should look like on the inside. Avoid all other files there.  If there is, you can safely remove them. The result of their deletion will be that any warning error message goes away and the color changes from red to blue.

  My PC froze on me and when restarted message warning of hard drive failure and run a test of f2. Memory was OK but the HDD test failed. message on both tests said 'smart balance sheet not installed' also ' long DST not insalled ' and 'short DST not installed ".   This not that old PC and improved (if that's the right word) to W10 end of last year.   Your backup tips is a good one--I keep everything what it I need to keep on 2 separate external hard drives that I only connect to my PC when I need to.  Having always upward, it's something I've learned in my 7 years of life! And I would never trust this thing 'cloud' take care of my files.

  Thank you for your time invested and trying to direct me to a solution, in my case I tried everything but the hard drive from the point of view of mobile was very dead and unrecoverable. However, in the hopes that it helps others, I was able to arrive at a solution alternative and here's how.

  I took the hard drive of my laptop and put it in an external enclosure, effectively changing to an external hard drive, at this time he was recognizable by another mobile work however the formatting. I did essentially wiping every bit of data on the hard disk (this removes perminently, NEVER RECUPERABLE) at this point, I had a black disk and so I just installed a new version of Windows on the drive in my laptop and Windows update did the rest (found it necessary to downloaded and installed all the drivers) this brought the laptop in working condition , in the end I lost everything there, but as a plus, I had a fully functional laptop. Councils have the work laptop check the HARD drive for bad sectors and recover if possible.
