No, but you should disconnect and all other non-essential programs.

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times and try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Do a clean boot, and then try again.

  • Do I need to get all updates to windows on the new VISTA system before moving on to Windows 7?

Hi , I have a brand new 'Pavilion Elite m9300t PC with TV/PVR' always in the zone since the 2008-09-02 (don't ask why, long story). There "Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit)" on it.  I bought a software "Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade designed for Windows Vista" (box).  It seems clear that the system accepts the 64-bit Windows Update 7

My question is, when I turn firstly on this machine, I have to spend hours updating the Vista operating system with all the Windows updates until I put in the Windows 7 Upgrade?  Or can I just simply immediately install Windows 7 Premium on the new brand new OS Vista from HP?

I ask because I don't want to spend hours in Vista with Windows Update updates when I have not, before using Windows 7 Upgrade disks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA,-Paul

    Hello:

No, you don't have to do anything other than the upgrade to Vista.  If you are brave, you are better off getting a clean install and wiping out Vista anyway.  If not simply put in the drive of W7, let an automatic upgrade on place and you're ready to go. You will have enough updates W7 to treat once the PC is upgraded to W7.

  • Should I turn off before moving on to Windows 10?

I currently have Windows 8.1, and I fear that if I switch to Windows 10, then Adobe will think that my machine is another computer.

    1. a change of OS causes Adobe licenses to detect a machine like another computer?

    2. What are your recommendations in the following scenarios (in terms of disabled before upgrade)

    a. I do a upgrade "on-site" Windows 8.1 to 10.

    b. I do a fresh install of Windows 10 on the same computer, and then reinstall all my applications.

    3. If I have a problem after the upgrade, can I always disable the old license if I can access is no longer the old O.S.?

    4. I also have an older version (no-cloud) stand-alone first Elements 10.  Should I disable it before upgrading?

    Thank you!

the cc apps are no problem because you can disconnect (if necessary) after the upgrade of your operating system.

It would be prudent to disable cc pre apps before the upgrade, but with the previous updates os which was not necessary either.

In order to install the upgrade of Windows 8, you must have a previous version of qualification of Windows Installer (Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7)

    Hi gwlco,

Yes, you should go ahead and withdraw the permit or turn off the product before uninstalling the product.

This helps you avoid any problems during resettlement and activating the product again once.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion DV7-1212TX laptop Downgrade Vista to Windows XP? SATA driver

    Hello

I want to downgrade this machine because some programs does not work under Vista and it will cost you $$$ to upgrade.

The problem seems to be that I can't find the right SATA driver to use.

When I use a WinXP disk, it gives me a blue screen of death.

I downloaded an update Intel driver pack, integrated in the WinXP installation CD and still have the same screen of death.

I tried to load Windows XP on a CD (the whole OS on a bootable CD)... and crashed too.

I think that the drivers I have are too old... but until I know the exact chipset I probably won't understand what I need to install.

It seems to be no comprehensive manual of the computer, so there seems to be no list of chipsets.

I had a bit of info from the Vista system... Device Manager but not a full number of chipset.

Is that what someone has successfully installed WinXP on one of them?

    Can anyone make some suggestions?

Is there an easier way to get around this?

    :-)

    Hello

First make Vista beckup. Information how to do it here.

Now you need to integrate your drivers Sata (only ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) with nLite.

Here is the guide to how do and here are the drivers Sata for you and here are the Sata drivers from your.  Just unRAR it drivers with winrar.

Remember, also, that you use the Windows XP SP2 version. If you have not got the version SP2 here you can download this service pack

and here you guide how to integrate this file with your new system of nLite.

In this program, you can even burn your new XP cd with this driver.

  • Tecra S1: Cannot install Windows Vista - ACPI.sys driver problem

Get the blue screen when you try to install Vista Ultimate edition on my Tecra S1--> STOP... ACPI.sys incompatibility.

Someone knows how to fix this problem and where can I find an update for this driver?
I already have the latest version of the BIOS (2.50) and don't see any driver update on the Toshiba site...

Someone at - it already correctly installed Vista on this type of laptop?

    Hello, Johnny

Robin is quite right. Tecra S1 is a portable older and certainly not Vista supported. As you know just for laptop with Vista capable sticker are supported Vista and Toshiba offer a BIOS update to make it Vista ready.

I recommend you to use Windows XP Home as before. Optimize Windows XP Home edition preinstalled and you will have very good performance on this laptop more old.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Existing software on the computer before the change of Windows 10

Where is the security, Norton, Norton Utilities, Microsoft Office software, software print, my income tax software programs, etc.  Should I reinstall all these objects?  What about the data saved on the years of returns on these programs?

    Hi Frankietwodogs :)

The article below, if you upgrade directly from Windows 7 to Windows 10, most of your (compatible) programs, Windows settings and personal files will be preserved, which means that you have nothing to fear.

    http://www.intowindows.com/you-can-upgrade-to-Windows-10-preview-without-losing-installed-programs/

However, just in case, I make a backup of these files and folders primarily (in local and itinerant) program before moving on to Windows 10 when just in time to make it.

Well, this would mean that you have to order the official HP recovery media to restore factory.

I don't know what your model contains wireless card model, so please do the following steps and I will understand this and post links to the BT drivers and wireless you need...

Since there is no driver installed wireless, we need a labeled device network controller in Device Manager in the category other devices.  The network controller device will be a little! mark next to him.

Thus, to find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the third element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • Problem reinstalling Windows 7 on Pavilion dm1 netbook with software HP-published records

Hello, I have a Pavilion dm1 that require a clean installation of the Windows 7 operating system due to a keylogger problem that could not be defeated.  After backing up my system, I used DBAN Boot and Nuke to zero to HD.  I tried to reinstall the OS with the published HP recovery disks.  Everything seems to load fine until I got to the screen showing "Windows Setup".  There is a small pop-up screen indicating "Windows is now set the following...". "The 'installing the software preparation" has a check mark next to it, and the order of the day on the "Software Installation" list is highlighted. I then get an another pop up screen indicating "You must restart your computer to apply these changes", but the touchpad does not work where I can still get the pointer to appear to make a choice.  The system hangs just upward at this stage.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.  Thank you.

How do you lond it hang before you finished it?

HP recovery restarts on its own (several times) you shouldn't have to do anything and it is recommended that you do not use the keyboard or a touch pad during the recovery process, it can be a process hours several retrieving records. Be sure the wireless is turned on when you start the recovery process.
