Months "Pavilion DV7 notebook" running VERY slow

Had this laptop for the summer holidays, maybe there are 8-10 or more weeks and have had no problems with it so far.

My laptop is so slow that I have something like 'my documents' loading can take 5 minutes and then hang. I write this from my phone my computer now runs so slowly that google chrome loading isn't really worth a try.

My characteristics are (and it took me about 10 minutes to load).

-5.4 windows experience index
-Processor intel core i5 - 240 M @ 2.50 GHz processor
-6 GB of RAM
-64-bit operating system
-windows 7 Home premium

The task manager says I have my uses CPU is around what it would be before the problem (at least I think that's normal) but I am using 1.67 GB of memory, when nothing does not load, is - it normal I never really watched who before today.

I did a 'system restore' who got running again for 30 minutes before it further deteriorated.

I defragmented my drives.

I deleted temporary files and run "cc cleaner".

Pressing f10 at startup I got to perform a free hard drive scan (I think that's what it was called) - the result of this test was: "full hard drive 1 (305)"-I guess it's bad.
On the same page, there was also a "memory test", going on the computer.

I did a virus scan anti by using "avira".

Any help you can give me would be welcome. I am a child of 15 years and it took me something like 30 weeks of my paper round of savings to buy this laptop. My mom and dad will kill me, so if I can fix it before I have to tell them, that would allow me to save a lot of grief.

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Hello

305 error code is a complete failure of the (Full) drive self test failed and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the problem of slow performance.  It is just the failure of a component and could happen to anyone.

Your laptop must be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - you can check your warranty status here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

Kind regards

    Hello forum users HP

NOTE: SORRY I WRITE THIS IN THE BAD ADVICE. ALL "NOTEBOOK TIPS" WERE / IS 'READ ONLY' NOT ALLOWING ME TO POST IT. IT IS THE COUNCIL CLOSER TO YOU, I COULD FIND. AGAIN, I AM SORRY.

I had problems trying to play new games (Maplestory and Minecraft) on my laptop. After trying many problems on the forums of game specific, I came to the conclusion that my video card is what affect my ability to play these games.

    I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop running 64-bit Windows 10.

    • Processor Quad-Core AMD Phenom P960
    • 4.00 GB ram
    • AMD Radeon HD 6300 M series and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 series 'graphics cards.

The problem that seems to hinder my ability to load these games is my AMD Radeon HD 6300 m series card. Looking in the Device Manager I see it's a Code 43 error: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems."

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers with windows update. I went on the site of AMD and installed the new beta drivers of Crimson 15.11.1.

    I found this post:

    http://www.TomsHardware.com/Forum/381108-33-solved-graphics-error-code

and follow up post mrgooyes (about 4-5 responses down) and again I have no luck.

I thought maybe since I opened my laptop some time ago and didn't eventually plug them into common sense could be considered, but my dad says they're integrated into the motherboard. I'm starting to believe, it is a problem with Windows 10 and alas, I have no possibility of return.

If anyone has any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know if there is more information that I would need to post and I will gladly try my best to keep guys updated day.

Thanks in advance for any answer!

I suppose that the link does not work as I thought.

If you go to the link and click on modify in the light blue box under the picture of my laptop, it will allow you to change the OS to windows 7, which is the factory installed OS for my laptop. You will find the driver I posted once you do this.

On another note, my Windows Update has installed some drivers for the cards and their revenue to the original state that they were (code 43). How can I stop windows update install this specific update?

Until you return to the supported o/s there is no real solution to your problem right now.

    Hey Len,

After watching further in your question, you should look into having an adapter for best results.

  • Radeon AMD in Pavilion dv7 notebook driver problem

I have a pavilion dv7 notebook and for a few months, I had problems with my graphics driver.

It began with a notice that my license was expired, so I went on the AMD website and tried to install the update. I ran dxdiag to find tool that I use an AMD Radeon HD 6620 G graphics card. I could not find my product on the list to manually install the update, so I tried the Downloader tool from amd driver and he had a problem of recognition of my graphics card. I then tried to update with the help of Support HP and that seemed to work for a while.

Yesterday my screen changed the lowest resolution and a notice came it was not recognizing my graphics driver. Yet once, I tried to update manually from the AMD Web site. When this does not work I downloaded the driver AMD Downloader and after installing everything he said is that "your computer does not contain a correct graphics card" and closed the program.

I am lost at this point uterally, and any help would be greatly apreciated.

HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Response of an employee of HP represents his own opinion and not that of HP.

AMD does not support the graphics system from HP to address personalized and won't provide any drivers for it. As a general rule, HP does not provide "routine maintenance" updates and usually only releases updates to fix known problems. You could take the computer to a professional, however they will be able to do anything more than I suggested and maybe even not so much than that.

    Problem:

Everything by typing the caret keeps jumping to the top of the screen so that the text I'm in the mid typing eventually disappear to a random position longer than the top of the page, I already typed in the middle of the text.

For a few weeks, I assumed that it was just me slipping, as I only started using the shortcut ctrl + arrow keys to scroll the text easier. However, I am becoming very sure that this is not the case because it happens to average flow by typing quite normal (i.e. not involving not the arrow keys at all!).

    Hello

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC does not play video streaming

    Hi-

I have a brand new HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC, Intel (r) Core i7-2630QM CPU, 8 GB, Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, Service Pack 1 64-bit. Beats audio, Radeon graphics card

It does not play Netflix streaming - the screen is dark, even though the video seems to play, and there is no sound.

It does not play videos YouTube - video playback but the sound is off. It goes the same for Megavideo and other streaming services.

On the other hand, he plays the music very well on the native Windows Media Player. I have not tried video on my laptop.

I make me quite frustrated and don't know what to do. Does anyone have an idea if this is a problem of HP, beats, or Windows 7 (or a combination of all three)?

At this point, I am considering doing a restore of the entire system and starting from scratch. Any help is appreciated.

    Eihalcon, welcome to the forum.

It seems that you have not installed Adobe Flash Player .  At least, I suggest to start with that as a possible solution.
