Pavilion dv6 - 6 c recovery fails in the process

The computer was smart errors and do not start.  I removed the hard drive and checked with the hitachi software, which reported that the player was fail with an unspecified error.  I bought a reader of travelstart 750G of hitachi replacement similar to that from the laptop and ordered a HP recovery disk.

The computer is a Paviliion dv6-6c35dx Entertainment PC

The recovery disks provided is 67890-002 System Recovery DVD Windows 7 Recovery Media for Windows 7 product Service Pack 1.

Recovery fails after about an hour after the final disc finished copying the files.

The error message allows me to select the details that are:

[15:31:01.90] ChkErrBB.CMD: detect an error in the PININST_BBV

[15:31:01.90] ChkErrBB.CMD: check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log

[15:31:01.90] ChkErrBB.CMD: or, visit c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootMerge.log

These errors are in a file CTOERROR.flg name which opened in Notepad, when I chose details.

Using Notepad to navigate to the suggested location I find that there is no subdirectory \logs system.sav.

I gave me the wrong set of recovery disks?

I checked the hard drive and the new and old are hitachi HARD drive part number: 5K 750-640

Please help, I would really like to get this year old machine recovered.

Hello:

I can't help you with the problem of recovery disk.

This site provides a different part # for the kit, but that does not necessarily mean you've got the wrong set of disks.  HP may have revised their.

I can help you with if you can read all 25 characters of the product key of Windows 7 on your laptop is to make your own regular W7 installation media, so at least you can get the laptop working again.

Here is how to do this if you have the product key for W7...

Use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a DVD or a 4 GB flash drive using the USB compilation method.

Use the product key of windows 7 of 25 characters to activate your installation.

http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below. Download the Windows 7 version that is on your product (Home Premium, professional or ultimate) key to apply.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx Enterta: how to use the recovery discs

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6135dx Entertainment Notebook PC laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1. All Windows updates have been installed. I did a scan for sfc.exe. Empty folder of Pendingrenames then the scan has begun with this empty folder. Once the scan has been done there 2 156 files in the folder Pendingrenames put by sfc.exe.

The CBS.log log shows more than 2500 pages of problems reported by sfc.exe/scannow. It's huge to be listed here. Most seem to be related to the 'stores' relative to the updates of Windows that have been downloaded in the past months. Looks like there are about 6 500 system files corrupted reported and not of miracle.  I think that "WinDoze" people don't like me not with nearly 90% of the corrupt files were caused by the downloaded Windows updates.

The newspaper says in 95% of the problems, he was unable to remedy. I don't have a Windows 7 installation DVD because my OS is an OEM installation so I can't perform a "repair Windows". My only recourse seems to use my HP recovery disks. There are 3 DVD, numbers 1 and 2 seems to be the recovery of the DVD and number 3 seems to be a kind of supplement, possibly having to with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.  Don't know what the 3rd DVD or how to use it. Any suggestions what it is and how to install it would be greatly appreciated.

Someone at - it suggestions as what I can do, in addition to a full recovery. My restore points do not go back too far that when these Windows updates have been downloaded and installed.

Is there a list of the Windows updates & Windows somewhere that should not be loaded with this operating system? I plan to install all updates "critical", "largest". I might just give up those optional. I downloaded and tried the update Rediness tool (SURT) system which was a complete exercise in futility. Just made me more the corrupted system files.

Would appreciate any help that I can use with this. I look forward to a full recovery, since it will take me several hours to reinstall all my programs.

I'm trying a recovery of my CV due to problems that fails to fix with Microsoft office and Photoshop which will not at the restoration work.

I first used the recovery disks that I did when I bought the computer and ended with "the system recovery failed.

I then tried with the help of the partition recovery and restore to fail again

I bought the HP discs to do the recovery and still the same thing. In case of failure

I read that it could be because of my internet connection, but it is a compressed and wireless and I do not have access to the router connect physically, the internet is password protected.

I always get the computer to go through all three disks, System Recovery DVD Windows 7 Edition home premium 1 and 2 as well as the Application and driver recovery CD, then he starts the third CD and continues processing but in the end, I get the same message, "the system recovery failed.

  • HP software for the HP Pavilion dv6-6117dx (need to recover without the System Recovery Manager

So I installed Windows 8 but has been forced to delete all partitions, then I installed Linux Mint 14 Nadia, now I'm back to Windows 8 and I want to get Windows 7 Home Premium back or Windows 7 Professional (law of demotion of Microsoft)

And I can not download the software that HP provides when you first set up your computer, but now I have no HP Recovery Manager or Assistant, so I need to reinstall all the programs and go back to Windows 7 Home Premium. But I don't want to spend money on it like spending $15 on 2 stupid recovery disks, what a scam! OK can someone help ASAP as Im on Windows 8 Professional

If you do not burn your recovery using HP Recovery Manager disks before you delete all partitions there is no way to download the files now. You place your order of recovery disks is the best option.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key attached to the bottom of your laptop, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD. It must be the same version that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker. Windows 7 Home Premium

  • HP Pavilion Dv6 7078 CA recovery without recovery disk

Hello!! I have a Hp Pavilion Dv6 - 7078ca, and after only 6 months of use, the hard drive just died.

because I live in the Brazil and brought the computer home, I could not use the mandate, given that the mandate is for canada only.

So I changed my own HARD drive for one on exactly the same model he had, but to my surprise, when I used the recovery media that I had made, the DVD have been corrupted, so I coudnt get it by using the recovery media.

I tried to install windows 7 Home premium (the one provided with the laptop), but there's a hardware incompatibility, so I couldn't install the drivers of it.

and the worst problem is: I can't control even other media recovery, because even if I ask them for some friends to the Canada, so this friend comes for me, HP Canada Web site does not accept international credit cards.

so, my question is, anyone know if I am able to restore my computer without this recovery media? If so, how can I do?

    Thank you!!

I did my Lalonde normal and regular cleaning. With the help of the manual I disasembled the phone until I could access the fan/heatsink and clean it with air preasured. After reassembling the laptop, I discovered that the two buttons are not appearing on the cover of the switch. The computer turns on automatically (I'm actually hit him), wifi works perfectly (well, I'm on it) scrolling volume works ok, so media buttons. • Recovery failed on the L850 Satellite

Hi, looking for help after a Toshiba Recovery failed on a L850-ID5.

Due to a problem with the windows Explorer that comes, I could not solve, I decided to do the full restoration of Toshiba. Finished, he gave an error code 10-FC12-0570.

Now computer tries to start windows, goes to a blue screen with a few other technical details (too fast to see what is there) and then to the windows recovery page. I tried all the options like mode safe without success. If the left, it will continually cycle and re - start.

Only other option seems to be to use an installation disc, but there is no disc with this laptop.

Any ideas how to get out of this mess?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Unfortunately I can't say with certainty what the problem but that is defective recovery image or there is a problem with the HARD drive. For a long time, the laptop manufacturers do not offer installation disks but in s manuals explains and describes how these discs can be created and your big mistake is that you didn t do backup recovery image and create the installation of recovery disc.

I don't know how old is your machine, but if the warranty is still valid I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. Explain the problem and ask for help.
If they ask for recovery disk, you try to explain that you didn t expect failure of HARD drive and you still don't have it.

In General, you have two options:
-for order of Toshiba recovery media (it is not for free)
-to get the new HARD drive and test it with the original recovery disk
In any case, don't spend your money before you try to clarify this with Toshiba service.

  • M6 Pavilion: HP Pavilion m6 Factory Image recovery fails

The hard drive has failed, so I bought a new hybrid 500 GB drive. A directed recovery disks from HP and have tried running the setup of recovery, but the process remains still stuck at 23 percent of "copy of the files needed to restore the hard disk.

I tried to reinstall about 10 times and it always gets stuck at the same stadium at 23%, and the audible DVD drive slows down or stops playback. After a few hours, it shows the message:

    Copy the file fails

    Of D:\PRELOAD\BASE2. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

    To C:\RM\Image\BASE2. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

    Press OK to retry

I cleaned the discs with a Microfiber cloth for my glasses. Original drive was 750 GB. Connected the thorough check for the hard drive in the BIOS and check the RAM. The two passes. Here is a link to the article that I bought. http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822178339

    Any help would be great

Well, I found a solution. In fact I found it weeks and there has been a lot of work.

First I asked myself, ' why is it I NEED to have a hard drive that is the same size as before or more? Well, the answer is quite simple: the only choice of HP is given to me is not to get the file .iso Windows but to get an image of Windows 7 that HP has changed with some soft/bloatware, they want to bundle with it.

Despite what says the support agent, it has no technical reason, why I can't use a smaller hard drive. The comparison of the hard drive for car engines is, frankly, ridiculous. The more appropriate analogy for the hard drive would be the gas tank and the processor is the engine. A car with a 15 gallon gas tank will operate as one with a tank of gas of 20 gallons, in the same way as a computer with a 750 GB HARD drive will work with a 500 GB HARD drive. Of course, in both cases, you won't get as much with the smaller model, but it will certainly run. In other words, unless you provide an imager that will fail if it cannot write all the 1 and 0 hard disk he wants, much as do gas pump just insert their 20-gallon fuel tank. So I said screw this dictation arbitrarily bullcrap to me what type of replacement hardware, I buy in order to use MY laptop.

Now, once I decided that these hoops with, HP and Microsoft, Setup for me to jump through is silly, I decided to make friends with a Penguin that I knew, but never talked to: Linux. This being my first time using Linux quickly led me to the selection of Ubuntu. He was surprisingly simple and easy to install. Now, most people could not understand how to do a Setup for an operating system disk, but if you know the difference between writing MP3 files on a disc and write a CD that can be used in a normal CD player, it's fine. Then, I used my wife's office to burn an installation disc, put inside and Ubuntu with happiness and flawless, himself installed on my laptop. He was ready to go with the pre-installed drivers and download the new drivers as needed during the installation after entering my password for Wi - Fi.

Things were going well, but I'm not a computer programmer or work in it and I expect a steep learning curve. Well, boy was I wrong on that assumption. Almost everything I want immediately to use is already installed. Not only that, but it is much much faster he was when he was running Windows. The only part that took a little effort to make it work was to steam, but there are step by step guides that appeared just to look for "Steam Linux Installation." For my daily (read: Netflix, web browsing, even games) it works fine. It's a little tricky with the mouse pad, but I usually use a mouse in any case. Overall, I was very happy with it.

    Summary:

Because Microsoft won't distribute the .iso files directly and HP insists that give you a picture of your laptop particular there is now a user of Linux more and a less Windows user. Honestly, why they do not just offer to send a picture of a laptop, they sold with a hard drive more small is beyond me (I know, legal shenaningans). So, thank you HP and Microsoft to encourage me to learn something else and get away from buying your products. I appreciate it.

  • What model should I get for my Pavilion DV6-3150us? I think that the jury must be replaced.

My Pavilion DV6-3150us has problems with the Council and I plan to replace. Should what advice I expect? The model please. Thank you.

I guess you mean the card mother aka mainboard? You will need the manual of maintenance here:

    Manual

You have UMA or shared with the Intel Core i5 processor video model first generation including the chipset HM55. This is the REF HP of the Board of Directors, you must:

Map graphics Intel HM55 UMA and shared memory 615281-001

HP still has the jury in stock:

    https://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=77681FA0C3354C2BAE5E6627AD5B70F6&SearchIn=PartNumber&SearchPN=615281-001

If your Board is bad HP will exchange it for $264. If the price seems high to you (it does for me) then you can consider an alternative like this seller on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-DV6-3000-Intel-motherboard-615281-001-works-/281467246032?PT=motherboards&hash=item4188c155d0

The above is shipped from $55.

There are a lot of the same card on eBay, but the prices looked better from a seller of good reputation, shipped from the United States

The only replacement that you can do is with a part of HP. There is no spare parts standard of the industry and desktop computers. It's all HP owners.
