Pavilion dv7 - 4263cl: hard drive problems

Long story short, OS could not start windows with a missing BOOTMGR message, recovery disc, not work, ordered new HP recovery disks.  To cover, I ordered a new hard drive to replace it, with the same characteristics but a 1 Toshiba to.

OK, installed the hard drive and used recovery disks at HP, but when you restart always get BOOTMGR missing error message.  Make a new recovery disk for windows 7 64 bit internet and serious on a bootable CD.  It starts, but found recovery does not list an OS system on hard drive.   Did the hard restart more once, install hardrive checked again, the cables and connections.  Took another installation of the HP recovery discs and also led a bootable disc that was to fix the problems with installing a new HHD and activation of the HHD working properly. Working always nothing. Get the same message.  Cast recovery manager got into the prompt orders and done a repair of the bootrec nothing / new. Checked the directory and found at the bottom of the list that it lists zero OS System.  So, how can I get my hard drive formatted to accept the installation of the OS? Any ideas to try, I have read and tried all the messages, I could very well on this forum.   Thank you...

Thanks for the reply, yes my hard drive failed and I installed a new one, but after using the purchased HP recovery disc though HP, showed that a black bootmgr error saying screen was missing.

Found on the HP disks partitioned hard drive, with windows on X:\ but was again start-up C:\ which was just a recovery image.   X drive was not complete, he lacked all the drivers and could not activate or change and C disc drive letter. I didn't know how to do this in the command prompt.

Fixed my problem with a windows 7 installation no disc not the recovery disks that came from HP, if all goes well, they will work to reinstall all drivers to the laptop, but we'll see.  Used (computer repair) on the installation disk and it repaired the bootmgr.  Thanks anyway...

  • Pavilion 15-n211dx: Hp Pavilion 15-n211dx hard drive problems

    Hello

Last March, I bought a Hp Pavilion n211dx-15 and 9 months after I bought it, I had some problems with the RAM because of my eletricity, but I already bought a new pair of ram sticks. I tried to do the system recovery Image minimized by myself because I didn't know it was a problem of ram, in the middle of the installation, the computer froze and the pixels have been going nuts. In any case, when I had the fixed ram, I started the computer and I saw that I had altogether 90 GB of HARD disk space (it comes with a 750 GB HARD drive), the windows installation is fine and all, but my HDD shows that 90GB total and the computer comes with a 750 GB HARD drive , I do not have what to do (if I have to install stuff and HARD drive drivers).

  • Pavilion dv7-4285dx hard drive

The hard drive on 2 years, Pavilion dv7-4285dx of my son is dead. It's a Samsung HM641JI, 640 GB, 5400 RPM. can anyone recommend a good replacement for this notebook drive? The new drive can we (GB) smaller than the original? Should I just stick with the same Samsung drive? Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.
PS - I use the recovery discs just purchased from HP to restore the new drive.

    Hello

You can use standard HDD from other providers. Nowadays people need more space, go for a larger HARD drive, it's a wise move. The recovery disc may not install on a smaller HARD disk because it will put your machine back to the factory settings.

    Kind regards.

  • Pavilion dv7, 1016nr: hard drive card on HP laptop Toshiba

I had a HP used off craigslist, because my Toshiba laptop crashed. I replaced the hard drive with the Toshiba, but now, the CPU it's again a Toshiba! He's trying to look for records that do not exist, the bitrate is mixed up, and I can't do certain things because of this!

The operating system was the Toshiba, and I don't know what specifications are contained in the hard disk. Help, please!

I know, but the problem is the hard disk that came with it is FULL of viruses, and I don't want to connect two of them in the same device, or even that you use at all. I'm on an allowance now, so I can't exactly buy a new, can't use both at the same time, otherwise the laptop overheats.

I could try using Malwarebytes on that hard drive and transfer files from the old and hopefully get Speedfan to find the fan that cools this thing.

WoW! t helps a lot when you have something to talk about when things to know!

I have that now to 1 question: what are the functions of the computer are stored in the hard drive?

(also, is a sale "day of service", or am I just lucky?) (More ugly. Emoji. Never.))

  • HP Pavilion G6-1D69CA - hard drive problem

Hi, I had this HP G6 for over a year and guaranteed missed a few months ago. It is the second laptop I got from HP. It was a replacement for my HP 2000 model who broke in less than half a year. It broke now. When I try to start the laptop takes me to the screen of SMART hard disk error hard drive 1 list (301). When I try to take stock of hard disk in the diagnostic system it fails and he gives me this failure ID: 90EC0C - 5 T 5709-MFGH5A-608703. My question is that replace HARD drive would solve this problem? If Yes, what models can replace this with? Should it be as SMART compatible.

Yes replacing the hard drive would solve the problem. You can use any hard drive laptop 2.5 inch SATA; they are the industry standard. All hard drives are compatible SMART and not having CHIP would be like having a car with no lights on dash oil pressure. You can remain in blissful ignorance while the parties fail around you and do you more damage as you keep rolling.

Post back and we can walk helps you purchase, install, and upgrade the software on a new hard drive. It will cost less than US $100... as low as $60, depending on the size and speed.

  • HP Pavilion 500-210qe: hard drive problem

Never before have I had a problem with a hard drive. I'll go along to watch Youtube plays a game and what ever and the hard drive with just stop working. The light that indicates the disk hard something it's been stuck on but when I arrived in Task Manager there is nothing using the hard disk and its 100%. After a while of this, I have to stop him because he is so locked up. Then, usually when I start it back up I wait because if I immediately she (of a hard disk failure), even if I can make it work if I wait like 15 minutes that I don't quite understand. Also when I try to update the computer he fails to do so and uninstalls the updats and goes back to what it was before. I got this computer a little over a year now, and it really started to hurt. What I'm asking is, if there is anything I can do to fix this or should I just get a new hard drive. At the moment I'm typeing my portable macbook almost 10 years, because it is more reliable than my PC for $ 600 1 years.

    I'm happy to help you.

You can actually buy the same size or larger than the existing hard drive for System Recovery media work.  The offered readers when you bought the computer are 1 to, 2-to-3.  As indicated, you can buy one the same size or more great.  Here's a 1 TB drive that will work on your computer.  If you don't want to buy this one, it's a good example of what you need.

  • DV7-3160us: hard drive problem or the operating system?

After the HP screen, I get a black screen that says: Boot Device not found please install an operating system on your hard drive. Hard drive-(3F0).  But if I hit the f4 key it states: there is no hard drive.

Thank you, had an independent check that the drive was dead. Can be fixed, but still old technology was so not worth.

  • Pavilion p6610f Desktop Hard Drive will not be reset to zero when you restart

HP Pavilion p6610f than Desktop PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit HDD (I think) could not restart. There was no indication of a problem before me by clicking on the button restart. I have this sometimes just to clarify things, looks like things work better. When it restarted, it went to a screen with 2 choices 'launch start repair or load normally. I chose startup repair. He loaded some files & drivers but finally comes to the screen 'blue '. I tried to start the computer with all the 'F' keys, none worked, always came back to the blue screen. Tried to start the recovery discs I did, same thing. I started with the ERD that I did it. Same thing. Would not not even go to Safe Mode. Nothing. But, there is no prior problems. Nothing made me think that I should do something to deal with a disaster. Then a "friend of a friend" came and replaced the hard 'for free' drive and installed windows 8 (which I hate) and now the computer makes a ticking noise and a sound plaintive, as when there is a bad DVD in the drive, it work so now slow, freezes, takes internet forever and made so much noise I think it's going to explode. I think I should replace the hard drive with the "right" and then use my recovery disks. He said that windows 8 was just too big of an OS for the hard drive, it took, that is why it is slow. But couldn't I erase or reformat the hard disk, and then use my recovery disks. As it is, I have no HP software on the computer more.  Is there a way to get the data from my old hard drive? I'm willing to take the time to learn how to do all this by myself if I knew that this is possible and if it is useful? [edited font color and characters]

    Hello Ty965,

I understand that you fell on some hard drive problems and a friend of a friend installed a former player for you and since he turned slowly and noisily. Personally, I recommend that you buy a new hard drive and then review and follow the instructions on the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 7) system, which will guide you through the recovery process and get your computer back operational.

If you don't have the recovery discs for your computer you can buy them for a cheap price of HP Media software and the drivercommand.

I hope that I have addressed the issue to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
