CD tray does not open

I manually closed my CD tray, after turning off the PC. Now, it will not be open. I damaged it? I tried to use a paper clip in the small hole, but still no response. A few whirring noises but no action.

Hi two is CompanyBand,

·          What is the number and the model of the CD player?

If you use HP then check out the link below and check if it helps.

If the previous step fails, then you will need to take the computer shop tech to make the tested disc.

Cd-writer/DVD disc tray does not open when you press the Open button, or when you use the buttons to control the media on the keyboard. How can I restore it to its operating state?

    Hi John,.

Please let me know exactly what happened when you tried my suggestions of first and second.

Of your most recent post, looks like you're watching the wrong part of the Device Manager. Optical drive is listed under "readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM". The info you gave appear under "drives". If the drive is not listed under "readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM" or there is no such section in Device Manager, then Windows do not see. If windows can't see it then this means that there is no power or that the drive is broken.

When you pushed the drive back in, the player no longer has much of the book or did you have to push all the way. If the latter, it means that the drive has no power or is broken.

With respect to the opening of the case, I guess I should ask first if it's a laptop or desktop?

  • Satellite L350 - CD/DVD drive does not open

I have a new laptop, less than a month, but his habit of CD/DVD tray open by pressing eject button. Eject-do a right-click on its icon does not open it no more.

There is no disc inside, it is visible in the BIOS, no sign of a driver problem in Device Manager. I tried reinstalling the driver, but that didn't help.

Any solution for this problem would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi inecro,

If the CD/DVD drive doesn t open more I think that you can do anything in this case.

I can only confirm what writes Akuma. You need to replace the CD/DVD drive and you get a new from an authorized service provider. If your laptop is under warranty you can get a new one for free.

I had the same problem a few months ago. EPA has replaced the CD/DVD drive in a few days and I come back my laptop. Very fast service and the technicians are friendly. :)

    Hi there @Marian-Designs

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that your DVD drive does not open properly. I'm happy to help you with this.

Please see the following document. It does not include the method of release the tray using a paper clip or a small screwdriver key or alan. It shows some of the places where the exit is. There are others, in general, looking for a small hole or a notch in the chassis under the tray.

  • CD-ROM does not open

I have a cd-rom that does not open. It is downloaded in pdf format. also can not get attachments to open.

Please try to explain your problem (s) again.

"A cd-rom that does not open" has little meaning.  Do you mean that your CD drive tray will not open?

"It uploaded in pdf format."  What downloaded in pdf format?  The antecedent 'it' in this sentence refers to "a file of the cd-rom" do you mean that you have a cd-rom that contains a PDF on this subject?  What happens when you put the CD in the drive?

You 'open' pdf files using Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader, which are free (but must be installed on your computer).  Are one of these programs installed on your computer?

If you choose to download and install Adobe Reader, do yourself a favor and don't include NOT of McAfee Security Scan Plus.

My CD door won't open.  Is there an eject button because it does not open when I press on it?

    Yes, there is.

Look closely at the front of the CD tray. You should see a small hole, just large enough to insert a paperclip (fixing of paper in North America).

Apply the necessary pressure to get the drawer open enough to be able to grasp and pull...

Access the list of unity in workstation. Right click of the mouse. Eject appears in the context menu? If so, the left mouse click.

    If no joy:

Windows output to power. Examine the control panel of the device to CD. Locate a small hole. Carefully insert a tip of a paper clip or a small wire blunt into the hole until you feel a slight 'give '. Apply modest pressure to release the mechanism. The tray should open.

    To test:

With the computer and Windows to the top of race Amend, insert a known-playable CD. If no answer, you probably need to replace the uinit.

  • My Cd drive does not open

Original title: BD - rom drive

My Cd drive does not open. I even sent it back to the factory to get the engine replaced and it used to always open. And if it opens, it read any disk. What should I do? Can I open the player through my laptop instead of hitting the button on the outside?

    Hello Jayde,

You can look for a tiny hole on the draw draw in which insert a paper clip to manually eject the CD player draw. Follow these steps and check if that helps.

Step 1: Open Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive icon and choose the option to eject it. If it is ejected from your CD-ROM drive tray, button on the hard drive is faulty and it is recommended to replace the disk.

Step 2: Also boot in the BIOS and check if you can eject the CD by pressing eject CD player if the problem persists then drive is defective.

    Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Step 3: I suggest to start in safe mode and check if you are facing a similar question:

  • Final Cut Pro 10.2.3 does not open a library more!

Hey! I could really use to understand this, a total mystery for help:

This morning, I tried to open a library of Final Cut is saved on my hard drive. Last night, I worked with the library, but now it just opens up.

It gives an error: Final Cut close unexpectedly

It's just one that does not open it opens other libraries.

Also, I tried to open it on another computer, but here it opens either.

I tried Trashing FCP to the preferences Manager, made a first aid attendant, but it seems that the problem is in THE LIBRARY not in the program.

In addition, NONE of the backups open.

    Any ideas? ;)

    Thank you!!

Try to open the library of most recent backup.

By default, they are stored in Final Cut backups in the folder sequences.
