PAVILION DV7 DISTORTED VIDEO ON SCREEN
Hi, to all the world, this is my first session on this thing.
I wonder if anyone has the same problem with a Pavilion dv7 laptop, through a market, the screen is all distorted, we can't distinguish anything. Initially the distortion lasted for a minute or two and then I got good vision on the screen but now just distortion very bad all the time. It looks like a chip fried, or something like that.
It is a shame, as the laptop very very pretty, but it cost about £800 about four years ago. Is this a fault of stock with the range of HP?
I hope someone can answer the question for me, thank you very much.
01010
Thanks a lot for your suggestions.
The laptop was switched off for the last six months, so I switched back on it today. In the run-up to the distortion (not as bad as before) came, I guess it is in the BIOS OF THE ILO. In any case, after that it seems OK, nice screen and very good video. The only problem is an odd line or horizontally two flashes here and there, but except that everything works well.
The only differnce from before is that I plugged the DVI to TV plug, perhaps a PIN was touching another contact, I don't know. But the distortion was as well the TV & laptop.
I'll put it down to 'No Fault Found' & 'Attention' and buy a new one!
Thank you very much for looking for the "Reolving problems with the screens", Fig-15, 'Diagonal or Jagged Line', which was the problem.
Anyway, I spent a few hours of downloading updates and at this moment, everything is 'normal '. Of course the next time I walk it could happen again!

Pavilion dv7-1132nr video has stopped working
Help! I used my Pavilion dv7-1132nr notebook, AMD Turion 64-Bit Vista with 4 meg of RAM and now I don't remember if it's a 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS, when all of a sudden the screen went white. I hold the power button down until the system shuts down. I turned on the desk of dinosaur to get help from HP. I tried to reset hard... nothing. I tried to connect another monitor... nothing. I checked and made sure the hard RAM disk are firmly installed firmly in place, they are and... nothing. I tried to boot in the BIOS... nothing. I noticed a light LED to the left of the LOCK on the lid and an another dead center between the buttons of END & PREVIOUS PAGE, at the top of the keys numerber blink, blinking off the coast, Flash on then blink off the coast. I saw a Favorites for the LED, but I can't know what exactly they're supposed to be telling me. Please tell me that my screen is not already toast? If I missed something as much as self tests that I can carry from here to the House, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks for the help, I hope?

Hello
Unfortunately, I used to play Rugby, so I not only have big hands but have several fingers broken during this time so that they are that agile
It seems, from your experience, you will be able to replace the processor yourself. The list of compatible processors and the replacement procedure begins on Page 109 of your & Maintenance Guide.

HP pavilion dv7-4177nr startup black screen
I have laptop listed above. For 3 days I couldn't get it in. looks like his, but the screen remains black. Recently installed antivirus on 01/01/2012 because I had some kind of worm/malware. Windows 7 is the operating system. Cap lock light is on and "combo hp assistant" is on steady not flashing. Don't know what to do.
Hello - try a hard reset - first
Remove the battery, AC adapter connector and then hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.
then reconnect all - see if it boots.
If this does not work - try to hit F8 after you power, you may need to type the key or press the ESC key for a menu.
then try to start in safe mode.
from there, you can try to do a "restore" - restore type in the search box and run the MS system restore - choose a date before your problem.

Hello
Hope someone can help out me.
First of all, we have received INTELLIGENT warnings but we were still able to start Windows in safe mode (took about 15 minutes and the laptop was getting hot). We took out the HARD drive and connected it via USB to another PC. Could not read the content and need to format the drive... has NOT done that. We have kept the 'Original' HARD drive
We bought a Samsung EVO 850 250 GB SSD for laptop... as replacement for the corrupt and to modernize the system. The main battery has been removed, the adapter is not plugged in for a few days. Today we received the new SSD and installed IT... but... the laptop don't boot! The screen remains blank. The F12 is the orange light and the CAPS LOCK flashes 3 times.
We read several articles on the forums and tried several suggestions:
-Changed the BIOS battery;
-Several "resets hard":
. remove the adapter and the main battery and pressed the button for 15 seconds;
. Windows key, B and starting power;
. by pressing F8 during startup;
-build the original HARD drive back;
-Remove the memory and tried all the banks in the locations;
-connected to an external monitor.
-boot via bootable USB drive.
-clean the cooler fans (with a jet of compressed air);
-tried another AC adapter;
-tried without main battery;
-tried to start without memory, no battery of the BIOS and no HARD drive installed.
No matter what we tried... after trying all the suggestions of the screen remains empty and the LOCKING of UPPER continues to blink 3 times repeatedly.
Anyone any idea what ik can try again? In my perception the BIOS does not load?
Look forward to reading your suggestions! Thanks in advance
Best regards
BerDie13
Thanks Malygris1...
... but I found this list of that's why I placed the memory banks in all possible combinations. And banks have even tried in another laptop and it works great... All week I anything with the laptop since last Sunday... plugged the adapter and you press the power button... a cursor blinked my eyes... then the HP logo... several... error messages but I saw something back to the screen telling me it was "wrong".
Build in the SSD... did some bios checks (memory and disk). Everything was OK! So I installed W7 and found all the drivers... updating the software of the BIOS... everything works stable right now.
In my perception, because the power has been turned off for a few days, the BIOS was not loaded at startup (or POST). After a week with a new BIOS battery and the main battery... system had enough power in the 'circuits and components' at startup...
One last thing... that I cost a lot of time: under the main battery... you will find the model number. During the download and installation of the drivers for this model number, I had a lot of mistakes... Then I used the HP support tool to determine what model number, I was working on and what drivers to download. Tool gave me another number and model for this model, all the drivers were good. I wonder why the wrong number was printed on the box?
This message can be closed. Thanks again Malygris1 for the reply.

Just make a full recovery on the system that went well for about a week. system running this morning and have a flickering screen, which also has a bunch of 6-inch black in the middle of the screen. Changed hard drives and found the same result. I know the good system startup screen, but it is unreadable.
Well from my knowledge, it seems that the screen has a problem of collage, perhaps portable continually being picked up by the screen, so fear new required

HP pavilion dv7: computer turns off screen
When I start my laptop after an hour becoming balnk display but the power light turns on, but after some cell time will close. When again I restart from the previous step, during which it will shut down.
The next thing to try is the following:
If you have two RAM chips in the system, remove one and try to feed IT. If he succeeds the first chip of RAM that you removed is bad.
If not successful, remove the second RAM chip then reinsert the one you deleted.
It starts now? If so, the second RAM chip is bad.
The purpose of this is to try to start with a single chip of RAM at a time.
I would like to know how it goes...

HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC does not play video streaming
Hi-
I have a brand new HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC, Intel (r) Core i7-2630QM CPU, 8 GB, Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, Service Pack 1 64-bit. Beats audio, Radeon graphics card
It does not play Netflix streaming - the screen is dark, even though the video seems to play, and there is no sound.
It does not play videos YouTube - video playback but the sound is off. It goes the same for Megavideo and other streaming services.
On the other hand, he plays the music very well on the native Windows Media Player. I have not tried video on my laptop.
I make me quite frustrated and don't know what to do. Does anyone have an idea if this is a problem of HP, beats, or Windows 7 (or a combination of all three)?
At this point, I am considering doing a restore of the entire system and starting from scratch. Any help is appreciated.
Eihalcon, welcome to the forum.
It seems that you have not installed Adobe Flash Player . At least, I suggest to start with that as a possible solution.
Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx - line quarter inch Horizontal gray in the middle of the screen
Recently bought a HP pavilion dv7-6b55dx notebook from Best Buy. Recently, the screen started to have a quarter inch gray horizontal line in the middle of it. Gray line has more grey lines inside. 6 month warranty just expired. Y at - it 'easy' for this solution or the screen is just broken?
It is usually the screen. LaptopScreen.com has replacements for usually less then $60, which includes shipping. To be sure that it is the screen, connect an external monitor and make sure that there is no grey lines on the external monitor. If there is, then it is assumed the video chip. Move fourth screen of the laptop and see if the lines disappear. If they do, then it is the cable from the motherboard to the screen.

I have a hp pavilion dv7. I get a blue screen. What should I do?
I have the Product Pavilion DV7 XZ029UA #ABA number. It runs Windows 7. The problem occurs most of the time when I'm starting it off standby or hybernation. The screen goes black and I have to stop it because I can't do anything. Problem event name it gives me is BlueScreen.
Here is the additional information it gives.
BCCode: c5
BCP1: 0000000000025B 01
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF80002FADA9B
OS version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1What can be done to stop this? It occurs very often and getting on my nerves.
This isn't actually the problem driver, unfortunately, all I can suggest to make updates or reinstall the drivers of your major
Chipset
Graphics (video)
Sound
Network (wired and wireless network adapters)
Since it is an Intel based motherboard I would go to the site Intel and running the utility autopilot check, see if it finds newer drivers, then download and install them. Make a note of what it is and what you install Intel.

Hello
I recently replaced both hard drives of HDD2K12, which meant I had to re-enstall Windows 7. Since that time, I have no options more in using an external monitor or even the brightness of the screen. The computer does not recognize the monitor when I Plug and all my drivers are up to date.
Can you make suggestions that could help to solve these two problems?
Kind regards
Peter
Thanks to find the links but I could not find the drivers I need for a Pavilion dv7-4031TX.
However I finally managed to fix the problem. Let me summarize what has been my problem.
(1) I could not adjust the brightness of the screen by using the function keys f2 and f3.
(2) I couldn't find the brightness slider if it was generally... i.e. (control Panel\Hardware and Options of Sound\Power)
(3) my laptop would not recognize an external monitor.
How I solved the problem:
1 > pass.
and go to the graphics driver and download the graphics driver and follow the directions. At the end of the installation you will be asked to restart the computer.
0nce you have restarted your computer, you should be able to adjust the brightness of the screen using the fn keys or the brightness slider in the window 'power Option '.
2 > Activting 2nd monitor
Click on Device Manager... At start-> right click on 'Computer' and click 'properties '. Click on "Device Manager". Now click on "monitors".
Now connect the exernal monitor to your laptop while watching where the monitor icon appears under "monitors". It should appear as 'Generic PNP monitor'.
Now, right-click on it and select "update driver software... "then search automatically for updated drivers. Install the new drivers. You should see the generic 'PNP monitor' name change to another name.
3 > restart your computer. You should find that after doing all this, you should be back to normal.

Hello
First of all, regarding the manual of maintenance on the link below--remove and reposition your bars of memory.
If the above makes no difference try the following.
Again, regards to the manual on the link below, delete one of your modules from memory and then see if the computer will start. If it doesn't, try the same module, but in another location. If it is still won't start, try the other memory module in both slots, to see if any combination will allow the laptop to boot up normally.
The procedure for withdrawal of these modules is detailed from Page 63 of your & Maintenance Guide.
Kind regards

Hi, I did a clean install of windows 8 on my Pavilion DV7-7077ez, and everything was good up to now when the key F4 function for switching the glasses no response. I have install all drivers and updates and it works until the next reeboot.
Can someone tell me how to fix it?
Thank you
Hello Emilinator,
You are not able to use the F4 key to switch between screens.
Go to Device Manager, uninstall the keyboard, and then restart the computer.
This uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard.
Here is a link to the Device Manager.
You can also hold down the windows key and press the letter P to toggle between screens.
I would like to know how everything goes

Flashing LED and black screen HP Pavilion dv7 - 3111ea Notebook PC/entertainment
HP Pavilion dv7 - 3111ea Notebook PC/entertainment
Processor i5
4 GB OF RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 2 GB VGA
OS: WIndows 7 64 - bit
I have a BLACK SCREEN (NOT SURE if IT REALLY TURNS ON or not) once I turn it on. The NUMBER of CAPS & LOCK lights flash three times with three second window and automatically shutsdown and turns on automatically. The LEDs blink with three seconds apart, keeping the machine on constantly.
After checking according to this link

Checked
Adapter CA / CC -works great
BATTERY - does not load
IT worked well had no warning on the battery (after a few days after the above mentioned problem I realized the battery does not charge)
Interpreted Power Reset
RAM (Memmory modules) -replaced New One (4 GB)
It is based on the sequence of flashing of LED Memmory module errors. Reseating the modules memmory (2 GB + 2 GB) doesn't seem to work so I replaced it with a new (4 GB).
I hope that this has nothing to do with the battery. This does not solve the problem.
Appreciated if someone could help. Thanks in advance
Hello
Unfortunately the "blink" codes are not always an accurate indication of the actual error, so this may be one hardware failure of another component on the motherboard.
Try the following.
Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery. Follow the procedure begins on Page 52 of your Interview Guide & Service to remove the battery from the RTC.
Press and hold power for 30 seconds and then leave the laptop for 15 minutes.
Exchange your module memory 4 GB in the other available slot. Reinsert the RTC battery, replace the cover, plug the power adapter ( Let the main battery at the moment ) and try to start the laptop.
Any change?
Kind regards

Black screen HP Pavilion dv7-4060us
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4060us is about 3-1/2 years. I have a black screen and it now won't start at all. He has also been more recent times of heating. I took it to a local repair guy and he said I need a new motherboard to a height of $200. It is better to fix it or should I get a second opinion?
200 is pretty cheap for a laptop in my opinion motherboard replacement, only you can determine if it is worth it or not.
How long the shop is guaranteed the motherboard, what they will install?
Most likely, it is a motherboard used, ask them.
