  Model bd340i in the middle of last year, I bought HP 12 x Blu - Ray burner. When I bought my HP Office in December 2010 model HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 480 t, I installed the burner and everything worked very well.   Arcticwolf, sorry, I miss read your post details. That strangely resembles a failed drive. Try unistalling and reinstalling the drive, including the software and driver. If a problem has occurred, it may fix.

• HP Pavilion dv6-3259wm: CD / Blu - ray player does not open / working properly

  My CD / Blu - ray player does not open. I can force it with a paper clip and put in a disk in this way, but it does not turn on and play the disc. The drive does not appear as a file selection as part of my hard disks in my computer section.

  With that I guess my optical drive is broken, so I tried looking for a replacement. I looked up the name of the optical drive in the HP PartSurfer and he says it's called SPS - DRV DVD SATA BD Combo 12.7. Just to make sure, is this the right part I'm looking for?   I have apalogize, I know that this has been done before, but I'm looking for different software or updates not upgrades.

  A couple of weeks, I tried to watch a movie Blu - ray (made before 2013) through HP MediaSmart DVD, when I put the movie in him would ask if I wanted to check the updates, so I said yes, he started the process of loading and asked again if I wanted to check the updates.   So I tried again a movie BD 2013 on the HP MediaSmart/TouchSmart DVD thanks to the new screen and he asked again if I want to check for an update, but it worked fine on PowerDVD from CyberLink 13 (which means I have to buy ). So I have not watched all BD movies on my computer for awhile.

  I recently bought a new computer and restored my old computer to its factory condition and reinstalled all programs and installed the updates I could find.

  After I restored the computer I tried BD 2013 & 2015 on HP MediaSmart/TouchSmart DVD movies and he even asked if I want to check for an update. It's been 2 years and still no new updates! Looks like HP MediaSmart has become obsolete. I don't know if PowerDVD 13 still works because I obviously don't buy it.

  Thus, it seems that if someone wants to play movies BD 2013 or newer that they should ensure that they have the right connection between the monitor and the computer and buy a new BD software to replace the old software obsolete.

  With my new computer, I'll be closing this and boxing upward. So I don't need to worry about this more.

  Recently, I upgraded my hard drive of 1 TB to 2 TB. I bought two hard drives of 2 TB because I planned to run RAID 1, but after that I cloned one of the 2 TB drives and removed the old 1 TB, I decided to save in a different way.   I have most of the things I wanted to back upward again on the old hard drive and another method seemed to be a better route. My uses of son for a little game and RAID 1 seemed to be struggling against productive and not as safe.

  So, I'll be able to move my new drive 2 TB in RAID 0 with my other new 2 TB drive even if I use one right now?

  Else consider this computer Noob?

  HP's instructions for configuring RAID using the AMD RAIDXpert. Read at least twice.

  Check your BIOS settings and make sure that the SATA is set to RAID.

  I suggest you connect hard drives to ports SATA 1 and 2 (blue and white). Among the old HP AMD motherboards we're picky about which ports SATA would be supported RAID.

  

  BTW - RAID 1 is much more secure that it will provide redundancy in the event of a hard drive failure and RAID 0 won't.

  It works like a champ! Took me about 5 minutes to install the card physically and 15 minutes to install all drivers and updates.

  So far so good - everything seems OK, so if anyone is looking for a video card for this configuration, it worked for me.

After hours of phone with HP they say I don't have Blu Ray (because tasks Brunettes. say it isn't so). Has had a case of Archbishop telling me that the laptop has been changed by someone, and it came not from the factory with her. I bought at BB sealed. He also went to repair HP for a related problem of the United Nations and they have checked that the laptop has never changed. Mgr. case wants to send me for English to look at and remove the Blu Ray and put in a DVD Super Multi burner, as the tasks of the plant requested.   No, it won't. Not if HP has already confirmed that the drive in your laptop must be a SuperMulti DVD, that's all I would do. So your player works, and it's the correct drive. Not much you can do here unfortunately.
  
  My only thought would be to go back to Best Buy and ask them how it happened. Maybe someone caught the laptop bad. They sell refurb and customer returns. They don't sell them as new of course, but they sell them. Maybe that's what you bought?  Sales were also known to slowly open mailboxes, Exchange parts and then return as new.  Best Buy has no idea because the box seems good and put it on the shelf.  Kind of looks like what could happen to you.  I used to work in detail and took people trying all the time.

• HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y no video output.

  I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y computer that I had stored (unplugged) in a bedroom closet bedroom for almost a year.  It was working fine when I put it in storage.

  This past weekend, I wanted to use, so I plugged in and connected to an analog VGA monitor well known on the integrated motherboard video VGA analogue connector.  When I turned on, there is no video on the monitor.  I searched the HP support site and found a statement that said "built into the graphics card or the card PCI Express x 16 slot are usable at once; they are not usable at the same time. "This computer came with a 5450 PCI express X 16 video card installed.

  However, the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card only has a digital DVI and I wanted to use a loose analog VGA monitor.  So I powered it turned off and physically removed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card.  Then I unplugged the power cord and removed the CMOS battery for a few minutes.  Then I replaced the battery and applied again to power.

  I still do not get all analog VGA video out of the motherboard, not even the BIOS messages it is first energized.

  I also tried to integrated edge connector with a DVI equipped, monitor.  Still, there is no video output.

  So I removed the power and re-installed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card that has only a DVI connector.  I connected to a monitor DVI equipped and applied again to power.  There is still no video output was two well-known instructors.

  When I turn on the computer, the fan power works, processor and fans of casing run, the blue led on the switch is lit and not blinking.  The Green LED on the motherboard is on.  The Green orange and activity led Ethernet link light are on.  There are no beeps.  I can hear the hard drive starts to work.  I have no video output.

  I use a HP USB keyboard and a USB mouse.  The red LED at the bottom of the mouse is not on.  The shift lock and lock lights number do not light when you press the corresponding key.

  This computer has spent more time of storage that it has been used.  It worked even when stored in a bedroom closet in bedroom.  I checked all the wire connections on the motherboard, with no improvement.

  I would like any suggestions to get this working of the computer.  I wonder if the motherboard has somehow that went wrong.

  Thank you for answering my question / problem.

  I am aware that I can not use an analog VGA connection on the motherboard for a digital DVI input on my LCD monitor and vice versa.  I tried two different montors both analog and digital connections on the motherboard.  I tried to communicate clearly, but I guess that I don't have.

  It is unimportant, now that I've found that HP recognizes that my computer model had a drawing or a manufacturing defect that causes the exact symptoms I am having.  There is here a link to HPs extended warranty program that describes the patterns and symptoms:

• Pavilion Elite HPE-170F recovery problem

  I woke up yesterday to a problem of blue screen on my Windows 7 Pavilion Elite HPE-170F.  Following reboot, but would end up the same way.  Tried to boot mode without failure, but same result.  A technician came to the House and he did Diagnostics with its test disc that says the HD had to be replaced.  I had my recovery disks that I made when I bought the computer 4 years, which made her happy.  He installed the new HD and put the old in another location, planning to transfer my files after the restore.  He began the process of recovery with disk 1 and told me to change the disks as needed while he went to see another client.  All done and then it entered into startup mode of windows. went black for a while and then gave me the message "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on hardware.  The technician returned and tried other things but the same results.  We ordered a new series of HP recovery disks but will take a week.  The question, since the instructions say to disconnect everything except the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, would be the printer that is wireless a problem and should it be turned off?  Also, the mouse and the keyboard are different than the original, which would be a problem.  In addition, Windows installed several updates of the day before the problem.

  I venture a guess the your computer uses an Intel chipset, can be set to "RAID", and the replacement of the hard disk is a disk AF (Advanced Format). Please see desktop HP - can not recover the PC after replacing the Hard Drive with an AF Drive (Windows 7 and Vista) for more information on this topic.   Alternatively, if you can still read the Windows product key of 25 characters on the COA Microsoft attached to your computer, you can install Windows 7 using this key. Using this method will not install HP customizations or value-added software and you will have to manually install all necessary drivers.

• Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t, windows 7 64 bit started to stop the sleep mode.

  Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t, windows 7 64 bit began to stop in the past few weeks.  It seems to happen from the sleep mode.  I leave the computer for more than 20 minutes, and when I come back, it is turned off.  When I start again, I have an error message and be able to start in safe mode.  I start in normal mode and I get an error "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" without solution.  I also see an action center say error - consider sending additional information about a problem with the ATI display driver (graphics card is ATI Radeon HD5450 1 GB).  When I click for the solution, says that this solution could not be downloaded.  I've updated my drivers.  I haven't added a new hardware or software.

  I did as you suggested and I had to uninstall several times because the device picked up previous ATI vs the generic drivers.  In any case it still stop with the blue screen of death when waking from sleep mode.   Then I went back and installed the latest graphics driver from the HP site for my system. I still had a few stops.

  Then I went through all my devices and checked for latest drivers.  All said that the best version is already installed.  Then I noticed that my HP bt500 bluetooth USB 2.0 adapter had only a driver available for windows 7 32 bit (I have installed 64-bit).  I used a keyboard and bluetooth mouse.   So I unplugged the adapter and have resorted to the USB keyboard and mouse and closures of blue screen stopped.  It seems that the network card was originally wake up from its sleep.  I also disabled the reactivation of LAN in the properties of the network adapter device.

  Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p6-2180ea. According to the specification, this model has room for a hard drive and an optical disc drive. You will not be able to 'Add' options of one of these components, but you can replace them with upgrades. 300 watts is not going to be enough for the HD 7770 and will be marginal with the GT 640. In addition, you can hurt ask graphics cards in this case 'mini '. You have to measure along the plane of the PCIe x 16 location at the back of the housing to the front until you hit an obstacle.

  This system is not really designed for the upgrade and this can cause overheating.

  Seems blindly if a blu ray player that I rent will play it or not.  MediaSmart said he checks the updates and checked to the best of my knowledge, that the drivers are up to date. I also had a feature on this site look for the computer myself.  Is there something else I should be check or do. (Disks are rented from the red zone.  Those in question is clean and does not appear to be scratched.   If you use HP MediaSmart DVD to read Blu - ray disc, try the following.

  HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  When the download is complete, open windows panneau Panel configuration, open programs and features, right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - once this process is complete, restart the laptop.

  When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.
