Pavilion G6-1323tx: Boot UEFI Paviion G6-1323tx

HP support... I need to update of portable Pavilion G6-1323tx bios that may start in UEFI mode? Help me???

Hello

It is a peer to peer forum and I do not work for HP - however, I can say that there is not only a bios update which will bring you support of uefi.

The list on this link was published by HP and unfortunately, your model is on the list "not supported".

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-system-and-recovery/consumer-notebooks-and-Windows-8-overview-of-BIOS-updates/m-p/1984731/highlight/true#M161974

  • Pavilion 500 - 206t: Boot Manager does not appear in the sources of boot UEFI

I had a working system, until I installed Fedora on it...

I have since removed Fedora, but cannot get the windows partition to start for the life of me.

In the bios, I don't see "Microsoft boot manager" in the list of Sources of boot UEFI in the boot order.

I have the original, untouched windows 7 x 64 partition, the HP recovery partition and 10 windows partition, I recently did a clean install, but still no start.

I've deleted and recreated a 100 MB EFI partiton and a partion of 128 MB msr by using diskpart.

formatted fat32 EFI, left the msr as-is.

C:\Windows\Boot\EFI\ files on the EFI partition in \EFI\Windows\Boot

Creates the via bcdedit boot manager entries.

    I tried:

    1. Bootrec /fixboot
    2. Bootrec /fixmbr
    3. Bootrec /rebuildbcd

I also used boot bcd with uefi function to copy the files on

I used an installation disc USB win10 to the foregoing as a win7 disc does not have the USB drivers for the keyboard and the mouse.

Am I missing something for the HP Pavilion?

    Thanks in advance

    Repair of windows did nothing.

I created a ultimatebootcd USB drive (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/) and used parted Magic/clonezilla in order to image the old windows and partitions of hp recovery (not the entire disk) to a USB external HDD (plugged into USB 2.0 port)

Then I deleted all partitions with parted magc.

Install win 7 on the system with no partitions, it's easier to reduce windows on partition of 100 MB, but you can adjust it later, also don't you bother with the product key, ignore her.

Restart the ultimate boot CD, choose parted Magic then Partition editor and create an important partition for windows = or superior to what it was when he was photographed. If your new installation of win 7 took the entire disk, simply to reduce the size of the partition and create the large partition to restore to, don't forget the restoration of 15 GB HP as well. If you don't see all the partitions or get an error in the score editor, see this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1619381

don't worry about formatting new partitions.

To restore, you will need to rename the image files on the external hard disk created in the second paragraph above. The partition names will be changed, see this link: http://drbl.org/faq/fine-print.php?path=./2_System/102_restore_image_to_different_partition.faq#102_restore_image_to_different_partition.faq

After the restoration, start windows installation disk and repair, it will be your old windows partition, restored. Save and reboot the old partition. If everything is successful, you can delete the newly installed partition win 7 and use msconfig in windows to delete startup entries. You can use parted magic to cultivate the restored partition, if you wish.

Then, install windows 10 to get a true EFI boot.

Appreciate your help to solve this problem!

    Hi Pravesh,

You can create a DVD as recovery media and can boot from when necessary. If you don't see the DVD drive in the boot menu, you can check the boot order settings in the BIOS and set to boot from the DVD drive first priority.

By changing the boot order, you can choose to boot from the DVD drive. Insert the DVD, and then restart the computer. As soon as it asks you to press any key, do so and it will take you to the Setup screen.

  • HP Pavilion 1053 does support UEFI?

    Hello

Please, I would like to know if my pc HP PAVILION 1053 supports UEFI (win pro 64-bit), because:

-In the bios, I have a menu called 'UEFI TOOLS',

    - But, on the page to download the drivers from the computer, here, there is nothing for the UEFI.

If my pc supports UEFI, do I install the UEIF HP DIAGNOSTIC TOOL to make it work? Because now, when I click on the menu "UEFI", nothing happens.

    With kindness.

Hello faroukal, from your description of the events that you are experiencing, they are all normal.

The black screen with cursor blinking in the upper left corner is normal for all systems.

It is when the BIOS/UEFI running control system of the operating system, which in your case is - this Windows 7 Pro.

The UEFI functionality isn't actually the BIOS of old style, but a code of the firmware that is added to the BIOS. Legacy devices means that they are controlled by the UEFI and not the BIOS.

You should see a section that you can use for the BIOS and not the UEFI, but I suggest letting the UFEI in the control of legacy devices. It's better that the BIOS control works.

You should be able to locate the command of Start Menu in the BIOS. You should be able to select:

    UEFI boot sources

    Sources of boot legacy

    ATAPI CD-ROM

    Hard drive

    (WDC WD30000HLF-60G6U2)

    Network controller.

This is just an example and would not be the exact options for your system.

  • Windows HP pavilion g6-2005ax 8 uefi installation help needed!

    PC: Hp pavilion g6-2005AX

    o.s.: windows 7 Home Basic

    BIOS version: F.14

    problem:

I am following the guide of upgrade of windows 8 HP (custom installation)

I have the most recent bios for my laptop.

I downloaded windows 8 pro and burned it to a dvd.

When I put the dvd into the laptop and go to boot options there is no option as "internal drive cd/dvd rom ' who was supposed to be there according to the Hp upgrade guide.

all I see is the following:

as you can see, the UEFI boot options are missing.

underside of the configuration of the bios screen is shot for more details.

I would be very grateful if someone can help me with this problem.

    Thanks to you all.

    lions99,

first of all, I want to thank you for all your help in the matter, I had.

I am pleased to post that the problem has been resolved.

Solution (UEFI G6-2005AX Windows 8 installation):

    It's pretty simple actually.

On this forum I found someone with the same problem, but a different model.

the problem where there is no CD/DVD drive BOOT option in the start menu is not resolved, but an alternative boot USB where one gets the boot option .

procedure: copy the contents of the DVD to a USB drive and boot from USB in startup option.

    so problem solved!

  • EliteDesk 800 G1: EliteDesk 800 G1 does not boot UEFI disks immediately after-> UEFI BIOS change

I am changing our configuration of the BIOS boot in the UEFI. I tried to simplify the problem.

I boot via PXE BIOS of SCCM task sequence and perform following actions:

    1. Apply UEFI Secure Boot configuration with BiosConfigUtility (enable Secure Boot, boot which is ignored anyway... order)
    2. Fixed disk partition type as TPG
    3. Create Fat32 partition to boot EFI and an NTFS volume for the data
    4. Apply WinPE to NTFS and copy the boot (bcdboot) in Fat32 files
    5. Set the volume to Fat32 as ESP
    6. Reset

Now BIOS does not allow me to start this disc. Disk appears in 'Device Configuration', but not in the boot order.

If I start again to PXE (now in mode UEFI) and check the contents of the disc, everything seems in order. If I reapply my script to repeat steps 4 and 5, and then the next time the disc will apper in the boot and boot order.

If before the first attempt of UEFI, I put in a known UEFI boot disk, the system does not start it no more.

I think that there is a bug in the BIOS.

I saw something similar with Z620. When to apply some config past to the BIOS, the system is no longer shows startup valid drives in the boot order (this attempt was in BIOS mode). Emulation of the RAID controller is switched back to AHCI has worked around him then. But this time I'm not emulation of the controller.

My repro led nowhere (successful boot) but I was hired by HP support and all by responding to their email, I accidentally found the question.

My BIOS setup script was a command to disable temporarily BitLocker if configuration is repeated his request for a system that is already deployed.

However, this had inexplicably FAT32 partition become encrypted. If I started to UEFI PXE SCCM WinPE on the next boot, silently erased WinPE encryption and system would be on hard disk again, causing confusion.

But when, for a test, I booted a Linux LiveCD, it showed encryption.

I guess it's been like this for a while but only in this case C: was be the UEFI boot partition (usually it's system partition). In hindsight, my repro of WinPE image have also components BitLocker...

Second: change the file in EFI/Boot/Bootx64.efi to my grub_standAlone.cfg (rename it to bootx64.efi)

    Does not work too.
I just need to put my .efi running in the starup
    Thank you all

    Hello
Can you tell us what your problem is? I have seen a lot of technical stuff, but do not clearly understand your problem.
If you are having problems to start Ubuntu in an Efi / UEFI environment I suggest you try copying the file to start the live-media / installation in your startup folder media.
Please note that the suggestion is not detailed must apply little reason.

However, when you try to dual boot, I use in all sorts of problems.

As far as I know, Toshiba offers a few changes of BIOS options and is not also a part of the BIOS updates.

  • EliteDesk 800 G2: SSD will allow only boot UEFI and not appear as a legacy boot option.

    Hello

My company is the purchase of HP EliteDesk 800 G2, some comes with HARD drive and some with SSDS.

Deploy us Windows 7 x 64 using SCCM using legacy startup.

On a machine with installed HARD drive, I can configure the startup options to use legacy boot, but when I replaced the drive to an SSD the only option to start for this drive is UEFI.

This causes the deployment fails because the player needs to be partitioned as TPG.

On the other hand, if I disable the legacy, the UEFI boot PXE boot and partition the drive as GPT, after the deployment of a disk image is unable to start with error 0xc000000d (I guess that the cause is supported in Windows 7 because it does not work on Windows 8.1).

Bottom line, I can install Windows 7 on a HP EliteDesk 800 G2 only if start legacy is enabled and I have partition the drive as UEFI.

Is it possible to force the SSD at startup like legacy and not UEFI?

This problem results from the workstation or is it applied by the SSD?

    Thank you.

    Hi Jay,.

I appreciate you are trying to help.

I guess that there are some problems of communication because it is a business problem and there are other technical components involved that I don't understand.

After some research more, it seems that this problem occurs with a specific model of SSD.

We'll just have to wait for HP support.

    Thank you.

G6, Win 8.1 Pavilion.  To turn on, I see the HP logo with swirling dots.  After a few moments, a box of gialog on light blue background (remincent of Win XP) appears with the date/time and the box 'OK '.  After three seconds or if the system reboots.  By pressing the key ESC annoys me to the list of Information/Boot/Diagonostics/BIOS/recovery.  I ran full diagnostics blown without identified error.  I can't recovery/restore pages; selection of F11 returns me to the loop start endless.

    Hi @bomber6e

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I understand that during startup, you see the HP points logo swirling. After a few moments, you see a clear blue screen with the date and time and the possibility to press OK, a few seconds later it will reboot.   If you press the ESC key, you get to the bios screen. When you press F11, you are unable to get to the Recovery Manager.  Your current version of Bios is F.10 and the journal poster D 090, 0021, 03F0 and error codes 0301. You have run the diagnostics but no problems have been detected.

If the BIOS does not include UEFI or the secure boot option, then the changes are unnecessary.

First, take out the HARD drive and put the screws to the right to maintain and replace the HARD drive and reboot again. It could be that the missing screws causing the HARD drive vibrates too and make the heads and causing the HARD drive having problems.

  • Laptop HP 2000 2b09wm: computer boot - UEFI seems to have problems

    Hello

I tried updating the BIOS using the official link to HP support, but I guess there is a problem during the update. The thing is that my computer will not start now. He remains in the screen that says "boot device not found - please install an operating system on your hard drive... »

I ran the tests available in this same screen after pressing F2 (the System Diagnostics), but everything is OK.

I can't access the BIOS because it asks for a password Administraotr. After that 3 attempts, the system locks with the code:

    99841805

I was able to start the computer by using a USB key with Ubuntu. However, I tried to do the same thing with a USB with Windows 8.1 and then Windows 10 and it won't even see the USB as a booteable device.

I tried to install it in an another 'HP UEFI firmware Support' USB on another computer Windows 10, but the installation fails when creating the partition HP TOOLS in the USB device, saying that there is a problem with Windows Installer in this computer.

    I'm stuck.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

The code made me. Reset the BIOS to its default didn't work, but I could see the root cause of the problem: it seems that during the upgrade of the BIOS, resulting legacy startup option disabled and who broke all.

I returned to activate and voila!

I understand that my MB supports up to 2.2 TB of disk space.  I don't know, what it supports UEFI? Finally, my original drive crashed after years of operation (about 6-7 years).

Have a look HERE for method of Seagate to use the full 3To.  I seriously doubt that the BIOS supports the GPT or UEFI which is what is needed to use the 3 TB without special considerations for the startup disks.  None of the specs mention either of these things, so they probably where not to use both the motherboard has been produced.   After reading the Seagate links, it's still usable with the current configuration.
