Pavilion g6: not wireless access

My wireless connection will not display.  It shows no connection available when there are and the system seems not yet looking for a wireless connection.  I tried the Recovery Manager to download the Qualcom and Realtek LAN driver again.  Again I have to connect via ethernet cable and do not know why this has happened?  Help, please

Hello

Have you tried making sure that your WIFI card is not disabled by Windows (power options)?

To check this goto Control Panel > system > in the left pane, you will see Device Manager > Select Device Manager >

Scroll up to where you'll see network adapters > left, double-click network adapters > you will see now your Ethernet controller and your WIFI adapter > right click on the WIFI adapter and choose Properties > once WIFI properties opens along the top display you will see Power Managment > click Power management and make sure that Allow computer to turn off this device is DISABLED, and click ok.   Close the Device Manager and monitor to see if your connection (WIFI) remains stable, even after the reactivation of the sleep mode.

Happy new year

What type of modem do you have?

Do you hear an old style phone modem or a cable modem?

If you have a cable modem and it is not wireless, then you'll need to buy a modem wireless also has four LAN ports. Connect the WAN port on the router to the modem that provides your internet connection and then configure the SSID of the router and the wireless PC network card.  The easiest to install and configure is brands like Linksys and Netgear. Your PC with a built-in B/G wireless network adapter. Purchase of a high-tech Wireless-N Dual band Router router would be too much serious.

  • My HP Pavilion dv6-6c13nr Wireless Driver is not installed

As said, the model number of my cell phone is dv6-6c13nr. Windows 7 my laptop was FUBAR to a computer virus that my sister managed to get on it somehow. I said to hell with it and just DBANed all of the hard disk and install a clean Windows 7 did. Everything was fine except the wireless driver adapter could install.

I tried the Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver and the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter linked to the page of the driver of my PC model. On two of them, whenever I click on the downloaded file, nothing happens after having unpacked the file, no installer doesn't run. I tried to run regularly and running as long as administrator, I also tried to run the installation programs directly from where they were first decompress the C drive, on a regular basis and as an administrator.

All other software on the driver of my PC model page and drivers installed just fine except the wireless, it's the only thing and the most important thing, that I can't seem to get on with the job. Windows 7 comes with the PC version was Windows 7 Home Premium, the version I have and that I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Not ultimate compatible drivers?

I also held account install earlier versions of the drivers, but I can't find anywhere legacy versions that don't look like not fragmentary. I would really appreciate help with this.

  • Card wireless INTEL PRO 2200 BG - don't find any wireless access point

I just try to run internet with the internal PRO INTEL BG 2200 wireless card.
The driver version is just updated to 9.0.4.39. The problem is, I can't find any wireless access point.

I also use a D-Link card, with this card, I found the available access points. What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

Also, I thought that I might need to activate the wireless with additional keys Fn function, but they do not work, I guess. Maybe I need a driver for this tool also. Do anyone know where I can find drivers to use the Fn keys?

    My system:
    TOSHIBA Tecra
    WINDOWS XP (SP 3)

See also: The INTEL internet LAN works.

    > What could be the problem with the INTEL PRO card. I'm sitting right next to the router/hub.

For me, it seems that the WiFi network is not enabled.
Usually, you need to activate the WLan switch which is placed on the side of the laptop. Then, you'd see an active WLan led.
If you n t see the light, then the WiFi network has not been activated.

In addition, choose the WLAN using FN + F8!
You can also activate the Wlan in Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab.

  • Set up the wireless access point, but the wireless devices are unable to get ip address

Hi, I wanted to put my D7000 as router AP. My main router is Sagemcom F@st 3864 by Optus ISP (Australia).

First of all, I put the D7000 in Bridge mode I did these steps:

    1. replace the IP LAN 192.168.0.100

    2 disable DHCP

    3. connect the LAN port to the main router Lan port

Internet connection wired and wireless on the same device but other wireless devices has failed

To remedy this, I made another choice, allowing point-to-point wireless access in the advanced settings of the D7000. I followed the instructions from this link

    http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/24104/~/how-do-i-change-my-Nighthawk-router-to-AP-mode...

I put dynamiccaly = wireless internet cable success but peripheral does not have an ip address

No idea how to fix wireless? I'm not very experienced

    Thank you!

I just fixed it just now. For AP mode, connect the LAN port of the main router to the WAN port on the D7000 (not LAN to LAN). I wish I thought to it much sooner.

  • R52 format, not wireless more

Hey guys I have formatted my laptop Thinkpad from IBM R52, computer and now it is not wireless... and when I press the Access IBM button blue nothing happens... I formatted with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

I have the recovery CD to put it to factory settings, but when I put any 1 of 6 discs inside show just the files on the drives, do me not like any installation box... good Infact that I have 7 disks, the other 1 of 1 is Rescue and Recovery, but that doesn't matter either when I put it. So I'll be able to get wireless back?... and how if the disks do not seem to load anything.

    I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

    jasonelectro, welcome to the forum,

you need to boot from the Rescue and Recovery cd, it is not possible to use it in Windows. Place the cd in your drive and turn off your system. Just after pressing the Start button it press the F1 key, allowing you to enter the BIOS again, here you must ensure that your cd/dvd drive is selected before your hard drive in the Start Up menu. You can take a look in the BIOS Simulator first if you want.

Be sure to back up important files first.

  • Issues with Dell desktop computer wireless and D-Link wireless network card. Only able to get wireless access by checking "Use Windows to configure my wireless network". This kind of file sharing impossible.

original title: can't see the computer on wireless internet!

I hope that's not too much detail, but I would like that the sequence of events to be clear...

I have a Dell desktop computer that's probably six or seven years now.  It did not come with a wireless card, so I bought a DLink router and combo card wireless, install both with the DLink software.  It works beautifully.

Later, we through my rep AT & T DSL, I got a Motorola modem/router with wireless capabilities.  I had plugged directly on my computer Dell desktop and moved to a Dell laptop DLink wireless receiver.  No problems.

The Dell laptop is dead and the DLink receiver has not been used for a long time.  Family of my daughter moved to our place, and I have connected his desktop computers and laptop to wireless internet, using the Windows Connection Wizard.  Still no problem.

I got a new ASUS laptop, I also linked using the Windows Wizard.  STILL no problem.

Now, here's the problem comes.  I moved the Dell desktop computer, connected the DLink wireless receiver to it and I am able to get wireless access ONLY when I go into the properties of PC, click the wireless networks tab and check the "use Windows to configure my wireless network" box.  Then I can connect correctly, but I don't see this computer on my wireless network.  Bad luck... because I want to be able to access share files.  When I try to connect using different assistants of Windows, I get a message to the effect that, if I used another software to connect to the program, I can't use the Windows Wizard.

So, what can I do to remove the original configuration of DLink completely and to connect to my wireless network using the wizards in Windows?  I uninstalled the software of DLink, but it seems to have no effect at all.

BTW, Dell desktop computer is running XP, office computer of my daughter is running VISTA, and two laptops are equipped with Windows 7.  I can see all the computers on the network with the exception of the original Dell desktop computer wireless.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • A WRT160N V3 can be used as wireless access point.

I have an AT & T's broadband router.  A WRT160N is connected, so I now have Wireless N capabilities.  I have a second WRT160N I want to put in my living room as a point of access, so I can connect my BluRay player and video stream.  How can I configure the second WRT160N as access point?

    Thank you in advance,

    Andrew

Topic 1. Yes, you can use your second WRT and put in place as a second access point to your network. First of all, unplug the second WRT to your network and wire a computer in one of its LAN ports. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ on the main configuration page, change the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. Save the settings. Unplug the computer and connect the cable to the first router on one of the second router's LAN ports. Do not use the internet port of the second router! Now you can use the wireless access point in the second router as access point additional for your network.

For a wireless roaming the two Wrds with identical wireless settings (SSID, wireless security, etc.) and don't forget to enable the SSID broadcast. Only the channel assignments should be different. Different channels spaced at least 5 avoids duplication of canals. Now your laptop can connect to your network via either WRT and internet through the first WRT. It must also be able to move between the two Wrds without losing the connection.

Re 2. Because the WRT160N has only the ethernet 10/100 ports a CAT5e cable should do. Of course, you can consider getting a better cable, for example a cat6 for future enhancements to your network. It depends on how much effort it is necessary to replace the cable later if you decide to go for gigabit ethernet on your local network.

  • Troubleshoot the bad connection with router (WRT350N) and Point (WAP4400N) wireless access

    Hi all

I have a problem and will apprecaite all the help I can get. I think I will find an answer here.

I have a small network, Linksys WRT350N (wireless router) attached to a modem and then connected to a desktop computer and with 3 wireless laptops connected to the router. All 3 are really great to work and access the internet very well.

Currently, I have the need to expand the network to 3 floors, so I bought 3 Points of access wireless of Linksys (WAP4400N).

I ran 3 cables CAT5e cable from the router and which ends individually all 3 floors, the top floor is less than the router 40meters. With the cables that came in their boxes, I connected the APs to the router and I have correctly set up the 3 Access Points with them attached to the router, all 3 works perfectly (I can access wireless internet via 3-point). However when I take the points of access to the upper floors and connect cables cat5e APs no longer work but connect after some time with the message "limited connectivity".

Why can I connect when the APs are connected to the ground floor via a short cable that came in the box and not when it is connected to put cables from the ground floor to the upper floors but rather make the "LIMITED SERVICE" message and cannot connect to the internet.

Also if I connect the cat5e cables directly to a laptop computer on all the floors, I can connect to the internet (the work of cables fine when connected directly to a laptop computer), but when it is connected to the connection of the APs has failed and I begin to see strange IP addresses from the APs.

Oh, one more piece of important information: when I connect cables CAT5e cable on all floors direct to a laptop I can connect to the internet (the work of cables very well when it is connected directly to a laptop) but when connected to the failed to connect APs and I begin to see strange IP addresses from the APs.

    HEPL!

I think I have the forum a status report on my post. As I mentioned in my last post, the problem has been as a result of lower cable at my provider. The network is running smoothly. Has been in place since last week when I replaced the lower quality cat5e cable cat5e cable.

A Board here please be careful and make sure you complete the cable. A bad end can lead to connection problems I discovered in this case when my team confidence terminated cable incorrectly.

Network up to & operational: Linksys WRT350N router without wire + 3 Linksys Wireless Access Points WAP4400N + Modem providing access to (1 computer (cable), 6 workstations (wireless), & 5 laptops (wireless).) Network to grow shortly.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this project a reality.

  • The WRT600N can connect to a wireless access point?

I installed Windows 7 on my desktop and I was not able to install all types of Linksys wireless adapters.  I decided that linking an my WRT600N wireless access point in the other room and hardwireing the office to the access point, would be a good idea.  I'm probably going to connect it to a Net WTG624 Gear, which is capable of acting as an access point and you connect to another router.  The question is, can the WRT600N you connect to and use the internet and the local access and, ultimately, on the Office of cable?  I feel that it is one of the most stupid questions, I ask myself here again, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: I'm sure it's called Wireless Bridge.

    Thank you

    Zach

    Hello Zach,

The WRT600N can connect at the point of access, and vice-versa. I have a WRT600N home and have the same model of NetGear as access point (what are the chances?) and it works fine, although I do miss the 5 GHz as the Access Point is only 2.4 Ghz 802.11 g Standard.

    I hope this helps!
