    Original title: widows installation problem

I have Windows XP Professional running on a desktop older.  I cleaned the disk and I would use it only as a 'internet '.  It works well and response times are pretty fast, but when I connect I get a box that says "Please wait while Windows configures FAX"... this process stops and I get another message that says "the component you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or another removable disk that is not available", "put the 'FAX' disk and click OK. , "" Use Source: '1' "»

The first question is I do not use a fax application and never did, I have tried every disk I can think of to complete the process, but I get the same message with each one 'the path '1' is not found. "Make sure you have access to this place and try gain or find the installation 'FAX, MSI' package in a folder from which you can install the FAX product." .. then "error 1706 - FAX." Valid any source not found for the FAX product.  Windows Installer cannot continue. »

This will take place two or three times at the beginning upward.  How can I prevent Windows Setup tries to install something that I do not use or do not seem to have?  I deleted any fax program, that I could find on the computer, and nothing seems to work.

    Hello

    1. have you done any change in software on the computer lately?
    2. are you able to install other applications and programs successfully?

Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state. There is an application which is set to start when you start the computer and which launches the installer of Windows.
    a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP

    Hello

Are you you're talking about a flash drive or a CD?

You can't delete files from a CD when you write about it, unless it is a rewritable disc (CD - RW).

If you are referring to a flash or external drive as a removable disk drive, and then follow these steps:
1 connect the flash drive and click Start.
    2. click on computer.
Flash player will appear in the computer as an additional drive.
    3. open the folder where the songs are stored.
    4. right click on the file and click on delete.

  • 'Removable disk' Questions

    1. I have 100 photos stored on my 'removable disk I:' that were imported from my memory card.

As "removable drive I:" is separated from my C: drive, this means that these 100 photos are just too much space, too much space on my hard drive the drive when the memory card is connected, or no space is being made regardless of whether or not the memory card is plugged?

    2. when importing photos from a memory card and click 'Import', why is there not an option to choose which of the 100 photos of important in the desired folder, if I don't want to install all of the batch of 100 photos?

    3. because importing photos "saves" in the i drive: removable, why is the memory card must be connected to each time to access the I: drive?

Windows XP enabled me to 'choose' that 100 photos to import by placing a check mark next to them, so it's all new to me.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes a temporary cache file is created every time that windows Explorer opens almost anything

It's just the way computers work, he can't see what it cannot be cached.

AutoPlay gives options to do all these things, including import

You can also do it manually if you do not use autoplay

Simply click on the Start button and the computer

Connect the device, and then click to open it

Computer will list the devices usually under the name of it or removable storage or mass storage.

    Already done.

    After that copy / paste / cut-and - paste / drag-and - drop what you want.

  • 12 items "copy/move to the removable disk.

The base case # 185684196, support phone donated last year, the problem persists.  12 items on my desktop PC (Windows 7, 64-bit) - I import photo in the Organizer, card camera (Nikon RAW files), and THEN use the function ' Copy/move to removable disk' to move these files to an external hard drive (RAID 1 configuration) for permanent storage.  When I run this process, initially, it moves the files to the disk of destination - then a dialog asks (about): are you sure you want to delete these files? (of the Office Unit) - I click on 'Yes' - a progress bar works - and almost finished, the process fails "organizing elements - year error occurred while reading files or writing files to disk."  The drive is may be full, or there may be a problem with the source media. "In fact, there is a large amount of disk space on the destination drive.  My wife and I use (for many years) this program for semi-professional use.  It is CRITICAL to avoid any corruption - indexing / connection between the miniature Organizer reference images and the image stored outside files MUST be properly maintained.  What is causing this error message, what needs to be done to solve the problem?  I have the couple of times when this has happened, I went on the storage disk, delete manually imported just files, run the process - and, for this 2nd attempt, the process completed successfully.  Of course, this isn't a long-term solution, nor a procedure appropriate - and I always worry a sort of corruption may be introduced-, please notify the right solution.  Also - I have been informed and practice, not allowing the catalog to grow beyond 5 000 images (I began a new catalogue).  With the current batch of photos, I'm importing (more than 300 images), I get also a message "notice" to save the catalog - something I think I'll make to an another external drive, for redundancy even beyond the present RAID 1 storage - however, this solves the problem, I ask you to help

It then I need my glasses!

I would recommend lance the Downloader of the Organizer (Ctrl + G) and in the Advanced dialog box, select your device (camera OR card reader) and choosing your external hard drive rather than the C: drive or another volume internal. See the image below.

Who will get all your images to their final destination without any move/copy of the files or folders.

Which means less chance of damaged files or broken links database. It will also be a more efficient workflow.

NB. it is always useful when you use external hard drives to keep connected to the same USB port. Also keep a backup on a secondary device because these external drives are extremely susceptible to failure.

  • What is ASM disk rebalancing? What is the importance of rebalancing power?

What is re-balancing of ASM disk?
What is the importance of being able to re - balance?
In what situations should rebalance the disc?
Where asm instance will automatically re - balance the disk?

ASM tries to distribute the data across all disks in a disk group. She does on a 'file' basis, and in the database, a "data file" assigned to a tablespace is a "file."

When you add a new data file, ASM trying to distribute this file on all the disks in the diskgroup.

If you add another disk, or if you remove a disk (or fails) ASM re - will automatically appear all the files in the new structure of the disc for this group. This re-spread is called "rebalance", what happens when the add/remove disk.

Normally, a separate process is taken to rebalance. This will take some time. If you want to get faster, run more processes. You say ASM he can add more process by increasing the power of rebalancing.

  • Remove disks or other media.__Press press any key to restart

    Hello

I've seen a few posts on this topic but not have been very useful.

My computer (Dell Inspiron 2200) was relatively slow and I decided to reformat the machine.  After doing that it seems the hard drive was fried in the process that I have been unable to get the machine to boot properly after the reformatting process.  When I ran a diagnostic on the computer, a message was also discussed more leading to believe that this was the case.  This is why I took an old hard drive that I had and tried to use it on the machine.  I created a Windows startup disk by downloading the file and burn a disk.  I changed the order of BIOS to move the CD drive first on the list and the error "remove disks or other media."  " Press any key to restart" continues to be displayed.  Please help me

    Thank you
