Pavilion m9670ch Desktop: replacement of the power supply

I replaced the original power supply with another more powerful (550W) earlier, I bought a new graphics card. This power is very strong, that's why I bought a new DARK PRO 10 power SUPPLY ATX 550W. Now, the computer does not start. When I press the power button, the fan starts momentarily and stops again. All cables are correctly installed. I reinstalled the old power supply (fort) again and everything works normally (except for the noisy fan). I contacted the manufacturer of the unit from the POWER of DARKNESS, but he referred me to HP, because they did not have a solution, but it may be a peculiarity of the motherboard. What can I do?

Hello

Return the Dark Power Pro and get a Corsair CX500, or CX600.

My son-in-law told me that I need to replace my power supply for my HP Pavilion p6110f, it should be 250 or 300 watts and 80 + Bronze rating.   I run Windows Vista if that matters.  Someone please just give me a suggestion for the right product?  Can it be 700W?  I don't know about these things and would like to have the correct unit of someone to install.  Thank you!

As long as he phsyically fits in the space, it can be 400w and upward.  Unless the user has replaced the video card with a card really demanding, 400w or 450w should be fine.  If you yourself will be the one to replace the power supply, remove the unit, take measures, then check that the replacement is the same size.  Most computers use a standardized unit now, it should be pretty easy.  Take note of where the connectors to reconnect.

  • Replacing the power supply on a HP Pavilion P6000

Outputs video (DVI and VGA) were both released on my motherboard. Rather than go through the hassle of dealing with Microsoft if I had to replace the MB, I decided to install a MSI Geforce 210 graphics card and the existing PCI express slot. However, the existing power is rated at 250 watts and the new video card got a minimum rating of 300 watts. It seems to work, and I don't do any high-end graphics or game. My main uses of the PC are paying bill online, e-mail and a few online forums. Should I replace the power supply with a higher nominal? I have a Hiper Type R PSU which is estimated at 580 watts and was planning to replace it with the 250, but it looks like not her suits because it is deeper than the power installed about half an inch. The deeper power looks like it should stick on a half inch at the rear of the computer when it is against the stop before power in the case. I would like to have some advice on the use of the existing offer or be able to use my power Hiper 580.

The HP Pavilion P6617C model, which is the number of product BT427AAR developed a standard ATX size power supply. Dimensions (as you know) are 5.9 "x 3.4" on the back and depth 5.5"in the case. The small metal latch/stop button to slide the power supply existing forwards (for removal). There really is no support.

4 rear mounting screws fix the power supply of the Cabinet. Of concern would be the length, an added 0.7 ", as well as cables/connectors.  You can try the Hiper in the case, and if it fits, OK. Otherwise, I suggest a diet that actually matches the Rosewill 630W

Yes, the Dell Inspiron 3847 Mini-Tower can use generic power supplies ATX, with either a power connector 24 pin or 20 + 4 pin card mother main, with or without the on/off switch.

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply either a local computer or online store.

Note: You need a diet with four SATA power connectors.

  • Replace the power supply for a Pavilion a140n

How to install a new power supply in a HP Pavilion a140n? Is there a step by step guide?

    Zz30fg, welcome to the forum.

Is the model you list correct?  I can't find anywhere.

Before you start, I suggest that you measure existing power supply unit (PSU) to make sure that the one you choose to insert in the space provided.

The first thing you will do is turn off the computer.  Disconnect all devices that are connected, for example, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.  Once done, remove the side cover of the case.  There are two or more screws on the back of the computer that you have to remove.  Then slide the side gently to the rear.  Put it somewhere safe.   Be sure to touch the metal inside of the case before touching any components.  This will eliminate static electricity (ESD).  Now you can disconnect the cables from the PSU.  This is where it gets a little tricky.  I normally take a picture of the connections and mark them as clearly as possible on the motherboard.  Believe me, you'll be much happier if you do.  Once this operation is complete, it is time to remove the (4) screws that hold the power supply in place.  Hold it with care.  If it falls it can damage other components.

The new power supply will be marked with the appropriate connector cables.  At this point, it's just the opposite of what you were doing to uninstall the existing PSU.  Install the power supply into the case.  Do not overtighten the screws.  Make sure that the cables are inside the case.  Once in place, carefully connect all cables to the appropriate connectors.

If you have any other questions, I will watch this thread for you help.

  • Questions about the replacement of a power supply for a P7-1235

I decided to do an update on my Pavilion P7-1235. I put in a graphics card and put in power level. After doing some research on this forum and others I know well enough that I need. The only question I have is about the food. I don't know what the original power supply. There is a vent on the side where it however. So I guess that there is a fan on this side of the power supply. This eating plan I get:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139050 & TPK = % 20500% 20% 20modular %2 watt Corsair...

I noticed that the fan is on top? Now there is no high ventilation in my P7-1235, I worry for nothing? I think that all the supplys to look the same. What is the top of the fan page for? Or can anyone suggest a replacement perfect for my exact Pavilion model?

Sorry if the questions are stupid, but I'm still learning and want to do what I can myself!

    Hello

Yes, you can use the power supply the same way. The image is in a vertical position for the convience of the buyer. I have the same with number of power supplies and it was fine. You can check the following links people have set up exact POWER supply in different ways.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/builds/by_part/Corsair-power-supply-cx500m

    However, please be aware of your power supply size and your case. If you have all materials/components in stock for your computer, then it is what it is;

    ATX case:

    : Height 39.4 (15.55 inches)

    Width: 17.5 cm (6.89 in)

    Depth: 40.9 cm (16,14 inches)

    PSU stock:

    (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

    And the power supply you want;

    Corsair size;

    "5.9"x 3.4"x 6.3"

As you can see the length of the Corsair is considerably larger than your stock of power supply. This could hampor of air or could even make it so the holes of the PSU and the case does not match. However, this is usually not what worry. The height and width that should be worried because the length rarely causes problems, I wanted to just make sure that you knew in advance.

Take advantage of your power supply; Corsair is a great brand.

  • Replace the power supply on my m9340f

    Hello

I own a Pavilion Elite m9340f and I need to replace the power supply (it has the original), because the power on button failure, which I did research on forums and the solution replaces the power supply (psu led always on, for example).

But I need to know exactly what kind of food I buy (amp, voltage, PIN number, dimensions, etc.) because I need help on the specifications.

I'm not planning to upgrade the motherboard the case, original hp. I read in another post something on the power restriction and benicia supporting more than 450 watts power supply motherboard. I find this absurd information, because components draw necessary power from the PSU without worrying if it's 350 or 700 watts. So is one of the things that I need to be confirmed if there is restriction of power.

    Thanks in advance,

    Prince of Jeronimo Ramos

    Jeronimo, welcome to the forum.

I believe that any standard ATX PSU must be inserted into the case.  I like Corsair and OCZ.  They are excellent manufacturers.  I suggest to measure the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.  As far as I know, there is no restriction on the power.  I did this for a long time.  More than 550W to 600W in your computer is not necessary, however.

  • Replace the power supply, computer does not turn on

I had a Seasonic SS 560 KM power supply for my HP Pav e9280t.  I removed the old power supply while keeping the power cable is plugged in.  Then replaced each power cables one at a time in the new power supply and finally he attached to the tower.

Now when I try to turn on your computer, it just boots barely upward.  I can hear the fans kick on for a second or two, then everything just stops.

Since I replaced the cables one at a time I don't think I missed anything; MoBo, Fan of MoBo, 1 optical drive, disk HARD 2 and 1GPU.  The tower is open and I can see the fan, the fan GPU MoBo and PSU fan all hang on one second so that they get the right power?

I must have missed something or possibly faulty PSU?  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Chadow86, it is possible to the new power supply may be faulty. I would check double all the connectors again.

Since you mentioned the fan to the motherboard, it would not be necessary to unplug the CPU fan when you changed the power supply. The CPU fan power source comes from the motherboard and not directly from the power supply. I don't know what fan on the motherboard you are talking about.

I watched the specifications and photos of the new power supply. It is a modular design. I would check the cables connected to the power supply to make sure that they are in the correct connectors.

If the system still does not start, the cause could be a new power supply faulty.

    I hope this helps.

  • The upgrade of the power supply for HP Pavilion M7570N

The reason I'm on this forum is when I called hp support and gave me a stupid answer of not being able to change the PSU because of software...

Well well, the reason why I'm spending power supply is because I bought a new video card and he needs about 500watts and my current power supply is 300watts and I was wondering if I can change it. The video card I bought requires also [2] PCI-E 6-pin

    Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150325

    Current PSU: HP manufacturer: 5188-2625

    New power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159085

I don't know if the size can fit the case m7570n (the slot of the psu) and I don't know if she has enough connectors for everything that is inside the computer

    * Note * I have not changed the computer, I haven't added or whatever it is taken so the connectors, there will be the same amount connected

It's a high-end desktop PC.  No doubt he will come with an ATX PSU with 5VDC, 12VDC and 3.3Vdc output rails.  I'm not familiar with the Interior of your PC, so I'll give you two General configurations of PSU layout.

    1. design intermediary such as PC Power & Cooling with one or two 80 mm fans to expel air through the PSU.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817341011

2 down-draft design as Cosair 450VX with a 120 mm or more huge blowing fan case in the heat sink and the motherboard of the PSU.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139003

If the power supply is at the top, back or side of the PC, then a power supply down-project will do a better job to remove heat from the PC.  If the power supply is in the middle of the PC, then go with an intermediate design.  This design will generate more noise at higher load, since the smallest fan should turn more quickly to transport the same amount of air in a 150 mm or 120 mm fan.

Looking for a nominal 80% efficiency POWER supply.  Detachable power cable is a bonus to maximize the air flow inside the PC.  Make sure the power supply is delivered with the right type of power connector to drive you GPU.  All modern units of quality with 20 + 4 and 4 + 4 key cards.  If you do not plan to run graphic dual with a high range GPU, so it doesn't matter what quality 80 watter 380 power SUPPLY Antec, Corsair, Enermax and Seasonic PSU will be enough.  You will need to back up POWER supply to 450-550W, if you run two graphics cards high-end.

A good 450W PSU is a good compromise because it is more effective when the PC is idle and has enough power to run two GPUS.  If you want to save $ on electricity, then get a smaller power supply (range 300-350W) because these units reach the level of efficiency of 80% around release of 65 to 70 watts.

  • Pavilion m9400t CTO: connection cable of the power supply to a Pavilion m9400t CTO

I installed a replacement PSU which has more cables and a few different - no problem on the identification and plug 20 + 4, 4 + 4 on the MB.  Also, no problem connecting to the SATA cables for drives (HARD drive and two optical drives).  There is a PCI-E cable, which without doubt, I do not for my graphics card NVIDIA to address (original) does not have a connector to it.   But I am confused and I want to be sure, I'm not spoil, I have another cable with connector Molex 4, nowhere I see to connect.  Without doubt, it is for the power supply of the fans and other devices - my PC feeds its fans of the power supplied to the motherboard? Can I just ignore that cable operators, for now?

    Hello

If you're implying that all your existing devices have power wires going to then simply ignore them the molex connector 4-pin.
