Pavilion P7 - 1380t: the four cables SATA H - 61 Joshua mobo SATA 1, 2 or 3? Also this mobo support will be RAID?

I plan to add an SSD and tries to determine the level of support SATA mobo/system and if this computer supports RAID of any type.

Also, any experience installing a 850 EVO SSD Samsung, including using the migration of Samsung software?  Migration includes Outlook Hotmail?  Or, is Hotmail, including its storage, independent of the hard drive on my computer?

Finally, it is easy to configure the system to save the pictures and videos on a different hard disk (traditional) and just direct them to the library, as it appears on the main SSD with Windows?

Thank you!

Hello

The H61 Intel chipset supports SATA 2.  The information from the BIOS for the p7 - 1380t do not show the RAID support but you should check this information.  The SSD will require mode AHCI.  I suggest an SSD that is at least 160 GB and 240 + GB preference.

I used the latest version of the Samsung migration software and it clones then HD. However, I suggest that you back up your data and then use the external HP recovery media to load the SSD drive.

Yes you can redirect (move) the files of photos and video from Windows to another HD.  Right mouse click on the folder target, select properties then the location tab. Now, enter travel information.

  • Is it possible to set up a printer wireless without the USB cable?

    Hello

I have a HP Photosmart C4580 and I wanted to set up to run on a network, but I don't have a USB cable. I tried to install it without one, but it does not appear on the network, and I was wondering if you really need a USB cable to install it?

    Thank you.

    1. turn Radio on wireless to the printer.

    2. on your computer, search for all available wireless networks. You should find a named "hpsetup". Go ahead and connect to this network and ignore all warnings.

    3. wait 1 minute after have connected you to the network. Then, print a network of the printer Configuration Page. It should list an IP beginning with 169.254.x.x.

    4. type this address in the address bar of any web browser. You will reach the Embedded Server (EWS) Web of the printer.

5 use the Wireless\Networking tab at the top and looking for an option to ' 802.11 wireless networks. On this page, you will be able to enter your network settings wireless (screenshot attached to facilitate their identification).

    6. make sure that you change the SSID for your network name. Click on the option button 'Infrastructure' and enter your WEP\WPA pasphrase. ENTER THE SSID AND PASSWORD EXACTLY AS IT IS, OR IT CANNOT CONNECT TO THE NETWORK.

    7. click on the button to apply and wait for the confirmation of the parameters being recorded.

8 restart the printer. Once again the Config network printer page. Now, it must have a such IP assigned by your router and not with 169.254.x.x.

  • What is the difference between SATA and regular cables?

I am a student in the article so I have a small doubt
What is the difference between sata cables and normal

"What is the difference between sata cables and normal."

If by "normal" you make cables referring to the old SCSI or IDE/PATA cables in water it

    is a very big difference.

SCSI (IDE/PATA are similar, but with the pins are connecting less) is the former cable style and support of the motherboard for the latter is way of disappearance on newer systems.

SATA cables are used on the latest HARD drives and SSD and are supported by all the "modern".

motherboards. The one in the photo was an end at right angles, but most are right.

Two types of cable are used for HARD disk SSD and optical drives.

The notification area icon displays only a wireless connection, although the ethernet cable is connected to the laptop.  HP Connection Manager shows that both wired and wireless connections are active.  All of my previous laptop (not HP) had different icons for wireless to a wired connection in the notification area.  HP has a different icon for a wired connection?  If so, why it doesn't show in the notification area?

If I am always connected wirelessly with the ethernet cable plugged into my machine, how to move from the wired connection?

Open the network and sharing Center. Look at the picture of what I have posted. Do you see where it says log in or out? Select it, and then disconnect from the wireless network. If you are also connected to the wired connecttion, then the connection should be almost transparent.

CAUTION: Follow all precautions during the removal and replacement of components:

Before you begin: remove the battery, the door, the optical drive, hard drives, LAN module wireless, RTC battery, keyboard, cover and system board.

Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the four Phillips screws P1 captive who set the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.
Because it is a map of the graphic system, loosen the three Phillips P1 additional captive screws that attach the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.

NOTE: Graphics system UMA cards do not contain these extra P1 Phillips three captive screws.

Lift the heatsink off the system board.

NOTE: Due to the adhesive nature of the thermal equipment located between the processor and the heat sink, closed effort may be needed to remove the heat sink.

    Fan/heat sink set replacement

NOTE: Before replacing the heat sink, the thermal material should be replaced. The thermal material must be replaced each time the heat sink is removed.

Carefully remove the old thermal grease from the heat sink, the processor and discrete graphics models, the graphics processor with an alcohol swab.
The thermal paste applicator allows to apply a sufficient amount of thermal grease to the center of the processor and discrete graphics models for the GPU.

Align the heatsink on the processor and the screw holes.

Tighten the four screws P1 captive who set the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.
Because it is a map of the graphic system, tighten the three Phillips P1 additional captive screws that attach the heatsink to the motherboard in the order in which they are labeled.

Connect the fan cable to the system board.

Here is a link to your service manual page 48 for Hard drive specifications. I checked on the possibility of installing 1 TB and it shows me if you keep to 1 TB 2.5 internal SSD SATA 6.0 GB/s • 555 MB/sec in reading, 500 MB/s write plug, you'll be fine.

  • HP Pavilion 500-311no: the hp Pavilion 500-311no upgrade

Hp Pavilion 500-311no desktop PC, I bought a few years ago and now I feel like I would get some more power out of it then is it possible to upgrade this computer. I use mostly this pc for a game so what I'm looking to upgrade is the gpu. It seems that the motherboard supports the latest grphics cards and I think they should also fit the case. Incase of replacement parts, the power supply needs to be replaced probably as well. Also overclocking motherboard support and how the overclocking and replacement parts affect warranty?

    Greetings,

You have some positives on your side:

    PCIe available x 16 slot 3.0.

    UEFI BIOS.

Your chassis will limit the duration of the update of the graphics card.

You have only a 300 Watt power supply.

Most of the HP motherboards cannot be overclocked. I have a processor Intel 4820 K. HP offers limited overclocking abilities with this processor.

Check the measurements on the existing power supply.  A diet of 600 runs most new graphics cards high-end. NVIDIA cards tend to require less energy than equivalent AMD cards.

Check the height of the rear panel input/output where the x 16 slot is to determine the maximum length of a new card.

Shop for a new card graphics and power supply when you know your limits. The high-end cards are usually double slot. Make sure you have room to install a card double slot. You need to be able to burst a second plate of input/output rear panel to install a dual slot graphics card.

Modular power supplies reduce tangles of cables in the chassis.

    See you soon!

The problem would be with the connection/WiFi wireless card? This card Realtek manages cables and wireless?

    Hey @dwflo,

    Please use the forums.

Sounds to me like the port has been disconnected somehow, as it should be a combo wireless connection/WiFi card as you requested.  You can check to make sure that the port is still connected properly, however it is likely that it will need to be replaced.

Is it possible to upgrade both the power supply and graphics card?

There will be no problem of compatibility (PSU Corsair CX 500 questioned?.)

I heard a lot of chatter on hp restricting the upgrade of their pc.

    The new card will work?

    Any help will be apppreciated.

    @Jeffrin98, welcome to the forum.

I cannot find the specs of the product to the computer.  So, here's what you need to do.  Press Start + R from the view of the office.  This will open a run dialog box.  In the box labeled type msinfo32 opened.  In the page that opens, check the option titled Mode BIOS.  If he says UEFI motherboard is supported by the video card.  If this isn't the case, you will not be able to move forward.

The next step is to measure the space where the card will be installed to ensure that it fits.  Measure from the back i/o port to the front of the case.  This will allow you to see if other ingredients will limit the installation.

The CX500 Corsair power supply (PSU) should work.  However, check how much power requires the video card.  It may be better to buy a PSU with 600W.  High power will be used during peak power needs.  In addition, the card may require additional power connectors.  Also, I recommend a modular power supply.  It allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary, create better air circulation.  It is very important with more powerful graphics cards.  The heat can be much larger.

All we see is a point of view, not the truth.
    [Marcus Aurelius]

I'd rather than PCIe PCI for this purpose.

HP liked SIIG for a number of their SATA PCI slot cards.  SIIG has updaters for these maps on its web site, and the pilots understand place in Windows 8.  Here's what I recommend if you want to only two new SATA internal ports:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?SKU=3062195&mfg_part=SC-SAT212-S4&pagemode=CA

There is also a card HP SIIG eSATA that HP has used, and I have also used that... it worked great.  It has two eSATA ports and no port SATA internal:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?cache=2012565552&culture=en-us&SKU=2850719

In addition, you can connect a single SATA hard drive on an eSATA port (the reader would need external power supply) for formatting, etc.  For that you need a cable with eSATA on one end and a connector type SATA internal regular on others... it is so much easier than to open the box and play with the internal cables.  The best quality I've found for those who are Macgurus.com or Granitedigital.com.  Opt for a shorter (1 m) rather than a longer therefor version if you choose to do so, in order to reduce the risk of interference (which I have never seen this):

Macgurus told them are indicated for the generation SATA I, II and III, and they are a little cheaper for a length of 1 m of the granite.  Both are excellent companies.

Finally, there is a HP SIIG PCI with combined eSATA/SATA, with a player external eSATA and SATA port internal:

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product.aspx?SKU=2850718&mfg_part=SC-SA1012-S1&pagemode=CA

I'd stick with HP SIIG solutions and probably buy directly from HP for this unless you can find the same for much less expensive on eBay.  The cards have had several revisions, and I think that if you get your HP, you would later.

In this guide, you will find the following options available for 15.6 "screens which the third party only has a capacity of higher resolution:
