• Cannot install McAfee on Windows XP. Errors with "Event Viewer".

  Hello, I am writing on behalf of a client.

  The customer has been in touch with the people of McAfee support for four days and they are still not able to install the antivirus program due to errors with Event Viewer. The people of McAfee asked the customer to reach the MS Support since then, as they say is a Windows problem.

  The event viewer contains errors in the Service Control Manager,

  DCOM, NetDDE.

• Remiain data in buffer with event VISA

  I'm trying to use the VISA event to read data from a serial port. I created a simple VI to test this (see attachment).

  1. I initialize the port and the event

  2. in a while loop: whenever I press a button 'help' of the order is sent to my Board of directors who responds with some help instructions, which should be to trigger a series of events and lines to be read.

  The event is on the characters of the term. The strange thing is that whenever I press the help, I get 'event 5' or 5 printed lines, not all 8 lines that are actually sent by the Board of Directors. If I then press 'help' once again, the 3 remaining lines (2 news since the last aid application) are read on the VI. I don't understand what is happening?

  I tried to change the length of the max queue (which has no effect, if it is set to 1 or 100).

  I tried to change the timeout of 50ms, but also it has no effect.

  I don't know that the Board of Directors came out the right commands, I read this in a terminal.

  If I jump the functionality of the event (just read the bytes to port), I can get out all the lines as expected, however I had other problems with this approach and would really like to fix this with an approach to the event. Also, I would like to understand what is happening... I would be grateful for the advice!

  Do NOT use the bytes to the Port for this.  Just set the number of bytes to read if something really high.  The VISA of reading stops when the stop character is located.

  In addition, I'm actually just make a separate loop that does nothing but read from the port.  No VISA necessary event.  Let just wait times occur on playback VISA if nothing comes.

• Slow assisatnt DAQ with events

  I have a question on the DAQ assistant. I'm currently programming an application automation at least 8 simultenously FOR loops and I use 3 different converters AD / DA. My problem is that when I'm working with the DAQ assistant nor (NI USB 6229) in this program and I communicate between the loops using son of the event (structure), the loop where are elements of DAQ assistant really slowing down. I mean I cycle every 3 seconds, this one is really kill me because everything else is really fast enough and only this one is slow (other two converters AD / DA are ok, they are not OR). Have you any idea where can be a problem and what to do to speed up my request?

  Sounds like a race condition, your local variables read an old value, which causes a loop to stop that you start the program. If you use local variables to stop several loops, it is very important to ensure that they are properly initialized at the beginning of the program.

• Master/slave with events

  Hi, I'm developing an application in which the user actions will initiate certain events.  I've implemented the application as an event-driven state machine.  However, I realized that one of the events must launch a continuous process, i.e. reading from the buffer of a USB device.  It seems that the master/slave model apply.  Is it possible to implement the model master/slave with slave event triggered activity?  I have the feeling of these two designs are incompatible.

  If I interpret your concern of a straight line, "I thought that a part of the particular event should run completely before any action of the user would trigger another event...» » :

  An event Structure maintains a queue of unmanaged manifestations.  When any event registered to a Structure of the event is triggered, LabVIEW places the event in this case queue Structure (you can have multiple records for the same event and LabVIEW will be provided with a copy of the event in each record... a bit more advanced, but it happens more often with user events, since normally you should not have more Structures for a single VI event).  When the Structure of the event is called, it will be the next event unmanaged dequeue and execute the corresponding diagram.  If there is no event in its queue, then he will wait.  If none of the events occur (are added to the queue) at the time where the period has elapsed, while the diagram of time-out is executed.

  Which means, the schema associated with a certain event needs to be completed before all other diagrams can possibly run; However, events such as buttons on the user interface, are still captured during execution of the first scheme.

  What RavensFan and crossrulz have mentioned are ways to achieve this in your design (rather than in the design of the class ANT slave).  Say that your ANT class slave doesn't have any internal asynchronous substance put in place that you can just start, and you will perform all operations running on your block diagram yourself.  In this case, you can create a new parallel to your course while loop.  A form any synchronization mechanism, such as a notifier, could be acquired and transmitted to two loops.  Run the loop of the slave could simply wait on the front warning system it does nothing.  Then in an event run in the upper loop for push button start, for example, you have to send a notifier, stating, "Okay loop slave, please start".  The slave will begin its operations and continue to execute, while your event in the first loop schema would end, and you would still have a user interface responsive.

  The design pattern of messages in queue manager is where you have a queue instead of the notifier used in the example above, and you can messages from queue you want the slave to receive (and apparently act accordingly).  Loop of the slave and then check the queue to see if his master has sent something - if so, it performs this action; If this isn't the case, then it executes any action that it deems appropriate.

• Update controls with events

  I'm getting to do a settings editor window that has several groups of settings that can be edited and saved.  The settings are loaded and saved on a Bay of clusters.  The window uses a shift register to store all changes and then you can save at the same time when you are ready.  The problem I see is that if I change a value and leave the cursor in the control, and then a new group he will not read this new value.  I understand that you should put the control that you want to play in the same event, but the problem is I want to be able to read this control with several events and it makes sense to have the control outside the structure of the event.  I have attached a sample vi of what I am trying to accomplish.  I'm relatively new to labview and learning I'm leaving, so any help would be appreciated. • Clear VISA with event structure

  I have a number of virtual serial ports of bluetooth as stream very quickly as soon as you open them with VISA configures port. I have set up/open these ports one after the other and it takes a lot of time (2 min), I think it's because they are com ports virtual bluetooth.  However, as soon as a single port is open, the data streams in and fills the buffer (eventually crashing the program), while I open other ports. I was invisioning something similar to an interrupt driven microprocessor to erase the buffer whenver it exceeds 2000 bytes to the port, my friend told me about event structures is similar to interrrupts. So, ideally, I would like to create a user event customized, defined by the property (bytes to the port) of a VISA com port node when it exceeds 2000 bytes. I would like just to run code that was going to free the buffer when occurs the same. Seems like a simple idea, I searched and did not find what I wanted to do.  Any help would be appreciated

  Its delicate, but I think it would work.

  LV allows multithreading, so you can certainly run screws in parallel which are completely independent of each other.  But the challenge is that your code cannot access the same COM port simultaneously.  But the way you described the problem, which could be circumvented.  I think your 'COMPortMonitor' could sit and wait for each port to open before their follow-up... so that your main loop before opening the following COM port.

  Here's what the flow would look like:

  2 open COM1 begin implementation of this loop

  3 tell PORTMONITOR COM1 is open

  4 begin to monitor COM1

  In step 5, your parallel loop will work with COM1... so that your main loop is busy opening COM2.  In theory, I expect to run independently.  And you can try to put them in separate threads, too.  This links talking about parallel loops in series:

  BTW: I think that you must ensure that your VISA application is asynchronous to operate (right-click on them).

  We have an event listener that does not seem to receive all events insertion of a table.

  Here is the SYS. Order ADD_LISTENER that we use:

  This same event receiver code worked with SQLFire v1.0, we have recently updated to v1.0.3.1 and that's when we started to see the problem. I don't see anything unusual in the newspapers. Is there something that has changed with the SYS. Order ADD_LISTENER are we missing?

  I think you want to attach the code for demo.vmware.sqlfire.greenplum.MultiHubProxyDispatcher but I see only MicroBatchListener.

  Looks like you are using both the AsyncEventListener, but also the listener to table which could be added through the SYS. Procedure ADD_LISTENER.

  Can you please write how you use the combination.

  Please note async event listener cannot be added through sys.ad_listener.

• Management events JFXPanel drag a expensive impact on performance with event handlers

  We have a drag event handler, which is a bit expensive, takes something like 20 ms. However, the code must be run synchronously.

  Is no problem in a pure environment of JavaFX, less events drag are created when the CPU load is high.

  Yes, it is a known problem or expected, even if I don't remember the JavaFX bugs filed on this issue. JFXPanel is known to have some different problems with the sending of the event, such as Swing and live JavaFX on two threads. Drag-and - drop are required to be synchronous, so we enter a nested event loop while sending events to the Swing DND to JavaFX. It is the source of performance issues that you observe.

  Hello world. I have a problem with the start of the event handlers in InDesign CS3. The example code I wrote the tutorial book, will not work. The message that I get when I open a new document is: "error string: the requested operation could not be performed because the object no longer exists." Here's the code I used:

  So you're adding a listener to myLabel, but sending the event from another component - that is the problem. Unless you are taking advantage of the display capture/spread expedition event phase list, you must add the listener to the EventDispatcher subclass that is sending the event.
