Pboblem in activation LR6
I'm not able to activate LR6. Each time, I get the message the serial number no I am not entered is not valid. I edited the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc unsuccessfully in activation. My operating system is Windows 10. Can someone help me?
Finally, the issue is resolved.
Everything has failed. I lost all my patience and almost going to request refund and never use any Adobe software. But a stupid thing I tried made the miracle. I tried to run the program as an administrator and tried to activate. ..... And I have more crazy LR CC, it is now autonomous LR6.

I am new to these forums and the LR and am currently stuck in the OS/software hell and desperately seeking advice.
I just bought LR6 as a stand alone (Nothing creative cloud was noted on the packaging) but when I tried installing - creative cloud installed (don't know why) and I got an error message which LR6 cannot be installed because my operating system needs updated. I contacted Adobe sales and said that according to his 'newspaper page' that it is compatible with my operating system. My Mac laptop running OS X 10.8.5 and my iPhoto is 8.1.2.
My conundrum is that I missed an interim update to iPhoto so that when I update to El Capitan iPhoto no longer works and it seems that I can't install LR6 until I upgraded to El Capitan. It must just be a solution to this problem!
I have 30 000 + photos organized in 258 events, faces assigned to important people, Places (after maps/locations stopped working I entered the place name in the Description field under the field of Places on the 'return' of the photo), filenames turned into legends identifying the picture (on the best photos), editing using iPhoto tools (again on the best photos) and some additional info added to the Description in instances of field on the 'return' of the photo. Lots and lots of work!
Number of questions:
1-should I export each event in order to separate the files on my hard drive first (then back up my system) and then move to El Capitan?
2 - I will be able to use the same redemption code to re-download LR6 or it will automatically install once I've upgraded?
3 - once I got active LR6 will be able to access my iPhoto Library (mistresses) directly bypass iPhoto to import/add my photos to the LR catalog?
Or do I have to add/import files created by exporting events? (I prefer the iPhoto library import/add, because if I understand LR import / add both the original and the amended photos as well as the metadata - right?)
4 it is possible to get the LR5? It seems to be compatible with my operating system. Once I created my LR in LR5 catalog so can I update to LR6?

LR 6 and the CC version are exactly the same program, even downloaded and installed same files on your hard drive. The differences come from how you Sign In to LR.
Also you need OS X 10.9.X, Mavericks, for LR 6/CC Mt Lion 10.8.x is to old to run LR CC/6.

I have a standalone version of the lr6 recorded on my adobe account. Its already installed on your laptop. It worked ok for a few weeks on my iMac, but now I get this error message when I try to load it on my imac

How to RESET the number activation exceeded on LR6
Hello, I installed LR6 on my new PC, the former no longer works and so I cannot uninstall son LR and I have another computer with installed LR. When I test to start LR on the new PC a box appears saying that I have exceeded the activation name allowed and even if I click on the dispute "I already uninstalled LR on a computer only", nothing helps and I can no longer start LR. What do I do?

Did you buy the version serial number, or the Cloud?

Hi Cathy,
In Lightroom, go to help-> my account. You need to sign in to your Adobe account. Then click on the button that is highlighted in the red square. Then, you will be able to choose the option you want.

LR6 will not install on my laptop, too many activations
I installed Lightroom on two computers, I so disliked, I their revenue to uninstall Lightroom factory configuration and returned the computers to the retailer. I then installed Lightroom on a desktop without a problem, but when I installed on the laptop that I bought it told too many activations. I have returned laptops that I didn't like, I have only one laptop and one desktop computer now, how can I get the LR6 to install on my laptop? I don't have access to the first two portable computers that I wiped clean and returned. I guess my mistake was, I uninstalled the LR6 but do not deactivate the license.
I don't know a direct link to the appropriate service. I think that the 'normal' support can help.

But as the LR5 was also an upgrade, I had to find and enter my first my first Lightroom, the LR4 activation number, before the LR6, one has been accepted...!
Crazy but true...

With LR6, you get a trial for mobile LR and sync. LR mobile and sync is only included in LR CC.
Look in the Menu help / a words or Systeminformation. If it says 6.x and you can see the disconnect with your email connection option on the Help menu, then LR6 is successfully activated.

LR6 license: problem after the Apple security update
Hello
I have a license of LR 6 (box version) that allows me to install LR6 on 2 computers (macbook and my mac).
yesterday, I apply the Apple security update on my mac and now LR6 tells me that I can't use my license on my mac, more
It allows me 30 days as trial (29 this morning).
What can I do?
This update of security changed the permissions on the folder that the license information is stored in and now do not allow write access.

Also, make sure that you are properly connected. IE using the correct ID of Adobe.
You may also need to re - enter the serial number for LR.

How can I turn off the PC Lr6 died without phone support?
Last year my Windows 7 Desktop died and was replaced by a model 10 Windows on which 6 Lightroom is properly installed and working. No problem on this PC.
However, Lr6 was also installed on a Windows 7 laptop that has been showed signs of great age (like me) and has been replaced by Windows 10 laptop a few months previously (woman says: I'm next!). I need to disable Lr6 on the old laptop but Lr6 not start over on this machine, it becomes unresponsive while the splash screen is still displayed.
The new laptop runs Lr6 OK but must be activated, i.e. I have to disable the old laptop.
Here I found advice on contact Adobe directly towards knowledge & Support select box please contact us at the bottom of the page, and then start a Chat session. However, I haven't found the Chat session, only this forum and news that my level of support does not include phone.
There must be a link somewhere that I missed, or considered non-relevant. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Activation after motherboard change
I use Lightroom 6 and to do this in Win7. A month ago, I've set up a new computer (new motherboard, CPU, hard drive,...) and since then, I use Win10. The motherboard was a failure and I was forced to change it. Now LR again asked me the serial number. He says that I am not allowed to activate, since I'm supposed to use my license on too many systems (I do not know the message itself in English, I use the German version). Please tell me how to get my LR activated - feel free to disable all systems registered on my LR6 series - like I said: LR6 systems ran on physically no longer exist. This is also the reason why I am not able to disabled that he be myself.
I am also unlucky enough that no phone number is provided (or at least I can't) where this problem could be solved in a few minutes, I guess.

Contact Adobe technical support via chat and ask them to reset your activations for Lightroom 6. You will need your serial number to get there.

LR6, I installed it on my desktop. I bought a laptop and installed there, too. In the meantime, I re - install windows 10 on my desktop and I swapped my network on my laptopt.
LR keeps complaining that it has been activated on the maximum number of authorized computers. However, I only installed on two computers (and always had these 2 computers only).Can you put this activation or help me otherwise?

LR6 maximum authorized computers after the operating system upgrade
Hello
I checked my file/etc/hosts. It is 'clean' after the default entries (no mention of any adobe or similar).
I checked the GlobalSign Root CA, it is installed and active.
I updated to MacOS X El Capitan for a few months, I suspect that is what causes the problem.
I bought initially LR4 in April 2012, that still works and I can install and run on my new OSX El Capitan, no problem (except that it is old and has all the features of LR6).
I bought the upgrade to LR6 in may 2015 and received a new n serial for this. It worked fine on my OSX Mavericks, but after upgrading to El Capitan LR6 asked me to validate whenever I started it, it failed with my improved serial no, but I was able to get to LR6 closing simply the activation window.
Starting this weekend, it is not possible to enter LR6 more with above method. I get the message that Adobe is unable to validate my series or maximum authorized computers are reached, which is strange, as I have only been installed on one (one current with now updated OSX).
On Adobe page support is it said to contact support, which turns out is not so easy. I phoned in a number that is given to me to buy LR, but no luck. Machine operator is a dead-end. This forum is the only option that comes to me when I ask for support on my pages / my adobe account.
How to get support?
