PC freezes, crashes

Material:

Compaq Presario SR2150NX RR790AA-ABA

Software:

XP SP3, suite of Norton 360, Office 2003, IE 8

Problem:

Everything I do, whether it's browsing, emailing, creating a document, my PC freezes and nothing will move.  It is intermittent and without cause.  It relax after 30 seconds or two minutes (duration of the interval of frost will be unknown).  The Task Manager indicates high for IE8, Realtek Control Panel exe, memory use tasks of Norton.  Can also show increase in the use of Page file with a wide gap.  If IE8 is not active, I saw it go down to 350 or 400 Meg, and I also saw him pull up to 1.25 Gig.  RAM is 512M.

There is an indicator to me that my PC is in the situation of gel: a small rectangular box will appear in rhe top left of the top bar on e-mail or a browser for the duration of the freeze.  I also see the message no answer on the top bar (not always).

Trying to solve permanently:

I swapped the AV vendors: no change.

I ran several scans of various sellers recommended: no joy.

I followed through the Task Manager memory usage.  That's why I know what tasks I'll see on top in this view.

If others have experienced this and somehow solves the problem, I would like to hear about them.

There is finally a solution to these freezes and crashes.  Here's what I went through to fix this:

1.) Ran a number of different analyses that found nothing malicious.
2.) Ran through a repair XP, which helped, but did not get rid of the hang.  This isn't a "clean" install, but it brings in the files system fresh off the XP disc.
3.) added RAM while I am now a little less than 2 Gig. Made a significant difference in the response, but has not yet once get rid of hang it.
4.) replaced a DVD drive, which had errors of CD ROM on the mixture, but does not get rid of the hang.
5.) VMWare removed from my PC (about 500 files and registry entries). This was done using IOBIT. Uninstall program.  VMWare removal seems to be that the hangs and freezes.

Back on without crashes and freezes.

    Hello, maybe there is a problem with the mode protected in the flash plugin - you could try if Disable protected mode makes a difference.

  • Mac keeps freezing / crashing since update to El Capitan

    So I've never had a problem before with any OS, but now my Macbook Pro Late 2013 is regularly freezing / crashing. A type of gel that I receive is a disconnection from the keyboard: things seem to be running yet (for example, I can see twirlling sync box), but I can't access anything or anything type. The other type is crashing when I put the mac to sleep: I'm going to to wake up later and it crashed.

    My Windows Vista computer is constantly freezing crashing (with blue screen) and sometimes restart automatically (and it's not because of Windows updates).

    The issue could be caused or worsened by all these antivirus programs.

    You shouldn't have 2, still minus 3, antivirus programs on the computer
    at the same time even if they are not all running. They will be still responsible for pieces of

  • Computer FREEZES / Crash after startup or start-up

    Hello! It's a little frustrating and I had to post this with the help of another laptop because my laptop ASUS freezes/crash after starting and also during the login screen! It's like when I open and enter my password, and enter the screen and click on any program, it will just freeze and hang there! And I couldn't do anything with it! LIKE NOTHING! Nothing, I need to force close by pressing the power button for a long time and makes many times because I wanted to check whether it is really something bad ~ it's been a week but I still can't use my laptop :( The most frustrating thing is, I can't even use the recovery options! The first time a blue screen for the recovery options showed that I had the chance to choose because it froze again!

    I tried to restart my laptop and went into the advanced boot options and you click on RESTART NOW to make that screen again, but UNFORTUNATELY, the TROUBLESHOOTING option does not show! Only the choices available are "CONTINUE and EXIT to WINDOWS ' and 'TURN OFF VOLTAGE the COMPUTER '.

    I wanted to choose "Automatic repair", but given that the TROUBLESHOOTING Option does not appear it seems I have no choice. I tried several times but no luck if I had to choose REFRESH PC but another problem is in place! -_ - I don't know how! I clicked REFRESH PC and selected FOLLOWING, but he said, "COULD NOT FIND THE NECESSARY THAT WE are looking for" something like that so he can't go!

  • gotoAndStop() - every time that it is run it freezes / crashes my program

    Why is it that whenever a gotoAndStop() (or gotoAndPlay()) command is executed within my code, it causes the program freeze/Crash? It drives me crazy.

    I sometimes have a "stack overflow" error or erratic drawing questions as a short break until hundreds of graphic objects to fill the screen in alone must appear.

    Everyone knows about this problem? Help, please! I use Flash CS6.

    Yay, I managed to solve the problem: the cause of erratic behavior has been due to the lack of a timer.

    The simple introduction of an audit of getTimer() in the method gameUpdate() has been just what he needed: the update of the framework was unrestricted to any delay and then ran wild.

    My MacBook Pro continues to be crush/freezing. This was initially limited to come out of sleep. However, it is now on a very frequent basis when using it. It is transmitted to the glitching out screen on top of the crash/freeze

  • Firefox 5 freeze/crash when I try to update my Add-ons.

    I used Firefox before 4 with no problems, and now that I've upgraded to Firefox 5 (edit: FF6), I can't update my Add-ons. When I try to update that, Firefox will freeze and eventually crash. I tried to reinstall Firefox, created new profiles... etc but the problem is still there.

    Yes, this add-on was reported as the cause of the problem in Firefox. Uninstall it.

  • Safari will not open any links, then freezes / crashes

    Help! Safari on my iphone fairly new 6s went haywire.  Safari opens very well, and if you type a direct URL, it will go on the site very much.  However, if I try to search for any topic it will pull up the pages of Web sites, but does not allow me to connect to all the links when I select a link it freezes and crashes safari.   In addition, if I try to open any link embedded in an e-mail, it still freezes and blocks the mail AND Safari. SO MUCH FUN!

    And just to test the function and general connectivity, I downloaded Google Chrome to see if I can find and plug here, and I can't. The search works fine, pulls up the pages and strangely, I can't access the pages direct, but it will allow me to open the page in another tab.  I think that should be a clue for someone smarter than me.

    I've been tinkering for about an hour with him and I am at a loss.

    I tried the things:

    1 reset the phone - just turn off and a hard reset (Power + Home)

    Try resetting Safari. Close Safari completely from the multitasking window by double clicking the Home button and slide up the preview pane of Safari until it disappears from the display. You may need to search the Safari part covering scribbles to the left. Then go to settings > Safari > clear the history and data from the Web site. Then perform a forced reboot. Hold down the home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds , until the Apple logo appears.

  • MBP frequently freezes / crashes on wake

    I have a MBP 2012 Middle I got in 2013 and have had problems with since day 1. I narrowed down it to / Standby failure (details below), but I have no idea how fix or solve this. Any help would be appreciated. I apologize if I have provided too much information, didn't waste time everyone, asking for things that I should have mentioned!

    H/w: MBP with 8 GB of RAM, USB hub with Mac keyboard, external HD (usually disabled), Time machine (usually disabled) disk and load cables for 2 iPhones attached. Apple bluetooth mouse. Sometimes I plug devices directly in the USB ports (instead of the hub).

    History:

    I take the computer to the Apple store 9 times since I got it. The second or third time (which was a few days after I got it) they replaced with a brand new, however that has not fixed the problem. They have made of the material tests and tests on it for the night and find nothing wrong with the hardware, which leads me to believe it's a software problem. The software that I use most often is Dropbox, Chrome, Coda 2 and Pathfinder, with various other things like Word and Excel from time to time.

    Symptoms:

    Here are some of the problems I had, which seem to occur in wake or shortly after waking from sleep

    • USB ports do not work (frequently - sometimes set by putting the computer to sleep, usually can only be fixed by rebooting)
    • Screen freezes on wake (infrequent - sleep sometimes allows the screen to work again for a minute, then it freezes once again)
    • Slow to wake up (quite frequent - may last from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to wake up once opened)
    • Hangs on the sleep/wake (rare - when open or closed nothing happens, and then after restarting the system about 30 seconds)
    • Various other (all text files have been read that after the awakening, trackpad, listed as "not connected" after waking up, lost the ability to make windows to the front, the points will not force exit, reboot has not etc..)

    Troubleshooting:

    I did a lot of reading on this and that you have not found a good solution. Here are a few things I tried

    • Reinstall OS X (I did probably 6 times since I got the computer, it doesn't seem to help)
    • Repair disk permissions.
    • Updated to OS X (I think I initially was Mountain Lion, now have el Capitan and the problems have persisted through all versions)
    • Reset the PRAM/CMS (I think that PRAM may be an old term, but I've tried both anyway)
    • Antivirus deleted and a few other programs I didn't need more

    Accidents/gels don't happen all the time (last was 2/18), but they are often enough to be annoying. For the last one, I saw it in the newspaper. I think he can relate to Google Sync, which I've since turned it off. I have not had another accident since then, but it's only 4 days.

    There may be other issues, but you have installed a client third-data clouds that does not work and should be updated or deleted. It could be drive Google, Dropbox or something like that.

  • Tecra A4 - freezing / crashing after start upward

    Hello

    My Tecra A4 is nearly 3 years old and over the weekend, it just started to freeze within minutes of the start.
    The point at which the machine crashes seems to be when all the various treatments start are completed. The hard drive seems to be stopped and at that time there it freezes.

    I managed to make it work for more than start a full crawl. Sounds weird I know, but as long as the hard drive is active the machine seems ok.
    It is still then up to a point and freezes leaving me with the only option of the laptop off the power by pressing the power button. Oddly enough, I didn't press the power button I have to just tap on it and the machine switches off completely. The longest, I got it to work for since is so fortunately I managed to copy 20 minutes on all my photos etc.

    I thought to try the recovery disk, but as I'm not sure why it freezes so I do not know if this will help?

    Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    No one will be able to say exactly why your laptop freezes.
    Perhaps only the operating system is confused upward and therefore, it does not work properly. This should be checked permanently.

    But in my opinion, the laptop crashes because of the higher internal temperature.
    Perhaps the highest temp affect that the memory modules and this would lead to these symptoms of the computer.

    I had something like that on my old laptop and one of the modules was of damage due to heat.
    I replaced the modules of memory, clean the cooling fans and fans using a jet of compressed air and the laptop works fine now.

    In your case perhaps only cooling grids cleaning would be necessary.

  • Acer Iconia B3 - A20 freezing &amp; crashing

    I have new firmwares installed, all works fine except when I watch Netflix, periscope, browse the internet or you to Browse menu, Tablet any freezing, no touch or buttons doesn't work anymore.

    Also compressed suddenly restart free, I have no idea what is wrong with this, I can't watch movies, tv shows or periscope broadcasts due to crash & restart.

    All solutions?

    The Tablet is unusually warm? It happens that you are plugged in or running on batteries? If nothing obviously wrong with the hardware, it might be a problem with one of these background applications. You can make a backup and then reset the tablet of factory and test for a couple of days before you restore your applications and data backup. If it works well when reset, try adding apps one by one until the problem occurs again.

  • Z5 Premium randomly freezes / crashes

    Hi all

    New phone after updating to version 6.x, it begins to freeze and hang randomly.

    Just a gel then no response from the screen then restart with red light blikning on the right and after that it works for a while, normally, when you do not touch it crashes, but you can delete the file or take a photo, or install the application, and during the process of randon, it crashes...

    Tried to erase the phone - reset to the default values - same question

    Tried to do again - reset to the default values with full erase - same question

    Tried to fix the software via a PC connection - made, the same question is displayed.

    Phone is only a few days in my hands - really disguisting experience, one advise?

    Or even better advice would be to go back and forget about it?

    I'm glad to hear that you replaced. Fortunately I had mine with Amazon so so they don't ask questions and just gave me a new. I have read horror stories of those who have purchased directly from Sony or network operator and never get it fixed or replaced (i.e. Sony refused to acknowledeg it a failure).

    I hope that new works perfectly. I had to replace my FOUR times before I had a good state of market unit with no problems.

  • RDP freeze, crash RemoteApp

    Hi all

    Please I need help with our clients. It's possible to get on Win7, 8 10. Everything worked well, we had icon RDP for Remoteapp and decided to change it to use the DNS name instead of the IP address and also we changed to issue RDP without certificate. Since then problems began. Situation is delicate couse we have a few hundred users and no I have this problem except a single customer. Here's RDP created dumps I need help to identify why this is happening. Sometimes it's just of freezes and no reconnect, after cca.2 minutes, it crashes (check dumps for error), sometimes it freezes then reconnects after 1 minute. We already tried test internet connection, it works flawlessly on both sides. Still I'm waiting for the deep packet inspection network, but at the moment it is not possible, please someone check the landfills and help me with the answer to what is happening.

  • How can I fix freezes/crashes/blue screens

    I can't understand how to prevent my laptop freeze suddenly and 'blue screen '. I have to turn off and restart. This happens more often. I have an urgent need for a solution to end this mess.

    If you have freezing and screens, chances are your event log is blue will say it is caused by a driver. So what I've done since I've had trouble finding this driver it was and that is to install, I downloaded SlimDrivers free on this site: http://download.cnet.com/SlimDrivers-Free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html
    It is an open source freeware driver updater that really works and I used it and so far no crashes.
    Computers are supposed to make things easier then why labor minidumps and scouring the internet for drivers when you can get a program to do it for you with a few clicks of the mouse.
