  Don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but here goes... I downloaded the trial version of MAX on Windows7 x 64 and errors "Windows Installer is damaged" when you install device drivers (I suspect that the issues of x 86 / x 64). I tried to follow the guide on http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4558/en#toc6 to set up a scope in MAX, then initialize it to a handful in the code with the following:

  IviScope_Initialize ("Scope1", & devicePointer);

  I added a bunch of references COM IVI to my project, but none of them contain this method initialize for instruments of MAX, I am looking. Is this related to device drivers do not properly install with the installation of MAX? If so, how can I get the in a serparate Installer? Or is it a x 64 specific installer somewhere?

  I NI USB-6212 device, LabVIEW 2010 and DAQmx 9.1.5 on Windows 7 (x 64) device drivers. Device is normally recognized on another computer, but not on my computer. When I plugin device, searching for drivers to boot Windows, but they are not. The Windows Device Manager sees the device as unknown device, and MAX sees him not at all.   I don't think that it is the cause of your problem (since you mentioned that the Windows Device Manager does not see the device), but you should also note that there is a problem in 9.1.5 where devices are not necessarily recognized by MAX; patches are available for 9.1.5 or you can go to DAQmx 9.1.7 or 9.2.2.
