  Preview has very limited support for PDF form and corrupts actually they (and other PDF files) in a number of ways when he saves them. This corruption is irreversible. I suggest you inform your users that they should not use Preview and use instead Adobe Reader/Acrobat or some other PDF viewers with of enough support for your form.

  I generated a PDF of markdown by Pandoc (with xelatex as the tex engine); the PDF document contains hyperlinks URLS. One of hyperlinks is a specific address of DOI: doi:10.2307 / 488160. In Adobe Acrobat Reader, this link accurately opens in Firefox (my default browser) and is then solved using a DOI Manager that I have in firefox. Overview, however, will not open the link. When you click, you get just that boing sound error.

  I believe this may have to do with the security aspects of preview that are cooked in the program - what kind of overview is able to open external files.   Chances are Windows found the folder a folder "photo", and explore does NOT show you the date of the modified file.

  Personally, I hate having "automatically" selected multiple views for me, and I tweaked my copy of Windows so that it always shows me the "General items" view all records, be they full of photos or music or something else.
