• Windows Mail and .pdf and .pps files

  I do not use Windows Mail, but some of my friends do it, and they seem to all be affected by the same problem.  When they get an attachment, .pdf and .pps, they cannot open the since the e-mail itself.  They must register under the attachment to a folder and it open it.  It of an inherent problem with Windows Mail, anyone?  Is there any solution for this?  Another reason why I use Mozilla Thunderbird.  Thank you

  make charts in excel-> export graphics to the emf format in the specific folder (as emf is done with macro vba to export)-> link EMF to indesign-> export indesign as pdf (print)

  I am trying to implement a type of graph that includes transparency (in the specific case, a histogram with transparent colors, highlight a specific area of the graph).

  EMF are exported "correctly", as can be seen in the fixed samples

  the problem arises in indesign, when I export the indesign file to PDF (see final results):

  -J' I used to use compatibility Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3), which - for what I understand - does not recognize transparency and causes the diagrams to export with transparency to 100%

  -If I use greater compatibility (Acrobat 5 or higher), transparency is exported correctly but all the tables and "fuzzy" exported graphics (or maybe a little too intense). The effect is not considered at higher zooms - but it is important to me as graphics look OK at all zooms because report is sent to customers with initial view as full page.

  using another format that emf is not a viable option. What can be a solution in this situation? I would like to understand what is the type of adjustment of export should I use to get a clean exit.

  You can post screenshots or link to files in a dropbox folder. That said, you are using an inherently low high-end, imprecise graphical format and is awaiting the results of high-end. There are tradeoffs here.

  The best advice I can give you without you actually hire me to go through your workflow, is to stick with solid colors and make sure your transparency blend space in InDesign are defined in RGB if these documents will be viewed on screen only.

• some .ai files are empty when I am asked to "import PDFs."

  I bought a few images for the first time.

  The first worked well, I downloaded them, open in photoshop CC 2015.  A box appears titled 'format Rasterize EPS' and I chose OK and my image was opened.

  However, I bought a few others that when I try to open them after downloading a box pops up that says 'import pdf' (see below) and I can only select: 'page' and certain page options (see below).  No matter what I'm doing here, I get a blank page when I hit OK.

  I can't make a difference in these images, are both * AI extensions, etc.

• Microsoft Word print to PDF files

  We need print reports to PDF from Microsoft Word 2010, and we open the PDF file in Adobe Reader XI the format of the report is not accurate unless you approach significantly (e.g. 150% +). For example, the lines on the tables will be missing unless you zoom in. The report prints perfectly. Is there a way for the file PDF see correct formatting report when the document is enlarged to its default value (100%)?

  I recommend you try the following procedure:

  Go to tab Acrobat-> click on preferences-> uncheck "enable accessibility and reflow with tagged Adobe PDF" and then click OK.

  Try to convert the file to PDF again.

  I use Adobe Acrobat X Pro (Version 10.1.2).  I followed the instructions below to try to embed Word, Excel, PowerPoint files and PDF separated in my PDF document as thumbnails, but the only problem is, this works on my computer because the files are saved on my computer.  As soon as I move my PDF file that contains links, the links are not open.

  How can I essentially do the same thing but have the miniature links be viewable by all, regardless of their location?

  Create a link using the link tool

  1. Choose Tools > content > link. The pointer becomes a cross, and all existing links in the document, including invisible links, are temporarily visible.
  2. Drag a rectangle where you want to create a link. It is the area in which the link is active.
  3. In the dialog box to create a link, choose the options you want for the appearance of the link.
  4. Select one of the following link:

     Go to a Page view

     Click next to set the page number and magnification of the view you want in the current document or in another document (e.g. an attachment) and then click on connect.

     Open a file

     Select the destination file and click Select. If the file is a PDF file, specify how the document should open (for example in a new window or in an existing window), and then click OK.

     Note: If the file name is too long to fit in the text box, in the middle of the name is truncated.

  Open a Web Page

  Provide the URL of the destination web page.

• Effective rate using ni6143 with the request based on aiex2.cpp method

  Dear engineers experienced,

  I had a problem with the request method based on the file "aiex2.cpp", available on the site by using ni6143. It comes to the actual sampling rate. On the datasheet, it is said that the ni6143 could have the ability to data acquisition with speed of 250 kHz per channel, which means that each data could be acquired in 4th-6 second. So here's my question: if I use all 8 channels (each to 250 kHz), this means that I have to use 8 [channels] * 4th-6 [seconds] = [seconds] to get a data set (one for each channel), 32nd-6 or I can use only 4-6 [seconds] to get? I use the method of application based on aiex2.cpp for the experience of the trial. Inorder to check exactly what is the sampling rate, I/o digital set up a signal in the maximum power before gain on demand and set low during data acquisition is complete. It shows the oscillograph than the actual time for the acquisition of a set of data (one for each channel) when I use 8 channels (each to 250 kHz) is about 32-6 [seconds], which means that the device acquires data by a channel channel, not at the same time. I want to know if there is any setting that I have to settle with the registers, or request method could not acquire data with 8 channels simultaneously. My code is exactly the same with the file "aiex2.cpp".

  Yes, the example only shows how to acquire a number fixed samples.  Among the function calls that implements the acquisition will allow you to make the material constantly acquire...

  aiNumberOfSamples (theSTC, numberOfSamples, kFalse); for finite, false for continuous

  If you can set it to kTrue to acquire continuous.  So that the task to continue to work, your application must be able to access the FIFO data fast enough so that it does not overflow.

  Second, every continuous acquisition must end someday.  When your loop has acquired all data affecting the application, he must issue commands to stop the acquisition.  The manual of the STC in detail the steps that can be taken to stop a continuous acquisition.

• Division by zero weird problem on HP 8200 Elite SFF

  I posted my message here, it appears now that my problem is hardware specific.  My machine has the following specifications:
  
  HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF
  Intel Core i5-2500 Duo @3.3 GHz processor
  8 GB memory

  Windows 7 x 64

  (I can provide more details if necessary)

  This has been me puzzled for more than a week now!

  We have an application where we lack in a division by zero. That request is deliberately built to raise exceptions in this case, with a call to the function _controlfp_s for edit masks on floating point exceptions.

  Now, when you run in a division by zero pretty much all of our machines, Visual Studio 2005 debugger breaks in the right place in our source files. However, on this machine, the location of the break is in every sense and seems to be unrelated to the real cause of the failure. So as a test, I built a simple win32 C program with just the following lines of code:

  On all these 'good' machines, the code breaks when the temp3.  Among the other machines tested successfully, I had various hardware and operating systems, including Server 2008 R2, Windows XP x 32 and Windows 7 Pro x 64.  However, on this machine, the code stops at:

  C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\crt\src\tidtable.c

  In reviewing the records I have change the assembler code, everything seems fine until I hit the "ptsps" statement... then all records seem to be messed up (vs research as expected on a good machine). When comparing the stack on the good vs. bad, I also see entries of pile on the wrong machine, I don't see a good...

  Now... Here's what I did to solve problems:
  1. a disc image of the original disc HP on a hot spare and the original picture restored.
  2. only installed Visual Studio 2005 Pro - portion of C++.
  3 - tested above, code has always failed.

  4 - update all service packs Windows and tested above code.  Failed.

  5 - update all service packs, the Studio 2005 and tested above code. Failed.

  6 uninstalling all the bloatware and tested above code. Failed.

  7 - updating the BIOS and firmware and tested above code. Failed.

  8. install Visual Studio 2010 and tested above code. Failed.

  Then... I decided to take my spare disk image and install it on a similar, but a little older HP computer that we have, which has the following specifications:

  HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF
  Intel Core Duo E8400 #3 GHz
  4 GB memory

  I went through the process of installation very well, even though she used the typewriter 8200 recovery partition.  On this machine, I simply installed the operating system and Visual Studio 2005 Pro - portion of C++.  No service packs not whatsoever (even if the Studio 2005 requires an update for 'vista') and the code worked as expected!

  So, that leaves me about almost everything but the material!  Also note that I tried to disable several processors and all optimization of the BIOS on the 8200, without success.
  
  I don't see anything else I can try... Please help!

• Screen touch questions with speaker-repaired Defy

  After the issued speaker repaired by Motorola UK service last week, everything seemed fine for a few days until - seemingly out of the blue - touch screen seems to lose the ability to properly recognize a tap - and hold. A tap-and-hold was seen as many quick taps, then try to move an icon on the Launcher or by drag and drop to rearrange a list was impossible - I found myself deeply in the unwanted menus in a few seconds. A factory reset solved the problem, but it happened again a few days later. Although, for now, it seems to be held after a second factory reset, I also noticed that I lost the ability to tap-and-hold to remove several whole words in Swype (he removes one and then it's there) and I have to be much faster and more accurate when the tapping and holding in general - I have to move an item in a milisecond to the vibration of the acknowledgement of receipt or it does not and it's there.

  The technician, income worksheet with the phone, he mentions the generic "software update" as one made things. It is not asked for. I can only assume that was last updated Motoblur software 2.51.1 version. One of the "advantages" in the information PDF (see attachment file) was "improved performance to touchscreen. TCH.   As a factory reset solved the problem, I can't assume this is software and not associated material - but I really don't want to go through the whole kaboodle if this happens again. Any suggestions? Any way I can reset the touch screen issue, if this happens again, by deleting certain files preferably obscure? Any way to go back to the previous version of the software?

  Last update (I hope) - just received the device back from repair and everything seems fine. They have updated the firmware and that you have installed 2.2.2. Of the touch screen is no more.

  I want to thank one person in particular in Motorola UK call centre - if you ever have reason to call them and talk to a Scottish guy called Shaun, you will be lucky. He was friendly and helpful throughout the entire process, including repeatedly remind me to liaise between me and the repair center, gneral updates, provide shipping references, etc.. I wasn't expecting this great help. So if you have to call them, please do not forget that most of the questions appears to be among the less-than-wonderful Ltd SBE, and people on the helpline do their job to the best of their abilities - especially Shaun. If you are being nice to them, you're going to get something done. Thanks Shaun. You the man.
