Periodic updates

My windows vista sp2 always tells me that I have new updates, but they are the same as those recurring. What can I do?

You receive errors related to updates?

  1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
  2. In the left pane, click view update history.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed
  3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
  4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
  5. Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

  • x 32 Vista - problems with periodic updates

My computer tells me there are 14 new available updates (all are for Microsoft 2010-1 update of definition, 4 security updates and General updates 9). For almost every day of 12/23/11 - today, 15/01/11, I download and install without error.  I then restart my computer and the notification comes up saying that the same 14 updates must be downloaded and installed.

I have downloaded and run the Microsoft Fix It tool twice, both times he told them there was a problem with the Installation of window and twice, the tool said them that solved the problem.

    Hello

    1. What tool Fixit did you run?
    2. What is the exact error code or the message that displayed the Fixit tool?

  • How can I update by program table combo box control type def?

I use LV 8.6.1 and I am trying to create a table control panel object in which the user can select an item to list box for each element of the array.  I also have to periodically update the list of values.  Currently, I have configured the drop-down list box (selection of Automation sequence - see attached) as a type non-stricte def so I can write news channels to the list values when I need to.  But I can't seem to find a way to get the table (list of batches - see rasthaus) fill the new value drop-down list box.

Automation box refelcts the new string sequence selection that I add programmatically, but the combo boxes in the batch list table control do not have the new channel.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I have attached the screenshot of the drop-down list and table controls.

    Thank you

    Dan

I considered that mention strings and values have a property that cannot be stored in a typedef, but when I tried it out, it seemed that it was.  So I just did not comment on that.  Maybe the strings and values may be among the typedef, maybe not.  The values of the controls certainly cannot.  Strings and values can be in kind of a gray area.  But you can certainly expect changes to a control to automatically update another control, because they are typedefs.  You cannot change the typedefs during execution.

Let's put another example that has nothing to do with the values.  You have a regular typedef of a digital.  It is saved with the text in red in scientific notation.  You place two instances of this on your drawing.  You can programmatically change each other colors or other digital formats.  A change does not affect the other.  If it's a strict typedef, you would be locked in the way in which it was saved and could not change it programmatically.

Take a look at this.  If you cannot programmatically, to update your channel list and values for a single combobox (a scalar string) you will be able to put up-to-date for when the combobox control is the data type for a table.  Simply get a reference to the element of the array.  It does not use typedefs anyway.

  • Pavilion g6-2002au: USB driver update failed

I did a periodic update of the system on the laptop drivers.  The last time, I remember it was almost 2 years ago.  And this time I encountered problems.

This topic follows my request on this thread about SafeMode start/restore after a driver update failed:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-boot-and-lockup/booting-safe-mode-on-HP-G6-2002au/m-p/5690028/...

And as I said it I begam making one an update to pinpoint what caused the original problem with the bulk update.  After 7 by an updated driver, I found the (or, at least) a cause of the problem.  The following image, 2 PCI to USB host drivers caused an error message from windows after the update.

There are 6 USB drivers linked to this very old/aged list and clear terms the number of items of equipment installed on the laptop.  See this screen shot of the Device Manager list:

Drivers USB 6 update, I have taken these 2 items to be updated first because 1) they seemed to be the oldest (replacements were dated in 2010), and 2) if I understand technology, these bits connect the processor to host chip and the actual hub bus.

I chose just these 2 PCI-drivers for update (unchecked the selection for all other boxes in the recall list) and proceeded.  When the installation has ended a windows message box reported an error of windows to one of the devices (one, not declared or referenced by a number).  Considering that the originals had worked for years without apparent problems, I started a process of restoration.  It worked, and restored 'very old' pilots work again without any error boxes, while the most recent have not.

This is a screenshot of the restored Details of driver (work), which seem to be the original objects from Microsoft for XP3. Vista and windows 7

Any ideas why this (the driver update failure) happens?

  • Hidden view updates themselves!

Can someone tell me why I have hide, they come back a few days later? I'm sure they are hidden, and yet the next time there are updates. Windows tries to install the same updates that I had previously hidden me. I don't want updates for a reason!

    Thanks for your help!

The IE8 Installer is periodically "updated". When this happens, IE8 will be exposed by default in Vista, according to my sources MS (but I've seen it getting caught in WinXP, too). Therefore, you will need to re - hide every time that it is "refreshed".

No, it is not sensible for me either I'm happy about it.

  • Automatic updates still says kb2686827 update after installation

ORIGINAL TITLE: Question automatic updates of Windows

Automatic updates show kb2686827 updated, but when I connect to the Microsoft Update Web site this update was not available. So I downloaded the update form Microsoft Download Center and installed, but it is still showing in the automatic updates of Windows. Should I worry that this update is still on display in the automatic updates for Windows XP? Is it possible to verift the update I downloaded has been installed properly?

    Thank you

KB2686827 were offered again and if so, hide you?

A root certificates update was available and if so, have you successfully installed it?

Why do you recommend not not to install the optional software updates?

In fact, there are two 2 types of optional software updates available - but neither is related to security:

    1. a type covers relatively minor bugs/quirks in, for example, Windows, Office & obscure things such as SQL Server. If you're having any problems (or if you do not use the feature being fixed), why install it?

2 other installs actually Microsoft software (it is estimated wisdom) think you need pourrait a day (for example, .NET Framework 4 Client Profile). If you need now and you can always install it manually, if need be, if & when you do need, why clutter up your system with it now? [1]

There are 1 an exception to this rule for Windows XP-based computers (only): according to the Automatic Updates configuration, automatic update may not install the root certificates periodic updates (KB931125) for you. It is therefore very important to run manual checks for updates from time to time & see if one is available/offered.

original title: Windows Update tries several times to install an update that has already succeeded. However, this update does not appear in the Add/Remove Programs list.

The update is for Office Live add-in 1.5. How Windows update in order to stop trying to install this update over and over again? Appreciate your help.

Hi Aziz, I appreciate your help. I tried all the fixes you suggest (great tips by the way), but none seemed to work. Finally, I tried to rerun the periodic update. This time, I dropped the issue "Accept or deny" and check the box do not display. I know that this has not fixed the problem, but the symptoms have disappeared. Thanks for your help, Bill 797

  • WRT310N does not automatically update the Internet DYNDNS IP address

Does anyone know if the WRT310N send period updates internet IP DYNDNS address or it sends only when IP address changes.  I can send an update manually, but the newspaper of the DYNDNS host don't watch no updates other than sen manually those.  Thank you.

It will send the update only when the IP Internet of the DYNDNS address has changed and it should do it automatically... If you're like most DynDNS.com customers, you have a dynamic IP address that changes periodically (monthly, weekly or even daily).

  • Microsoft continues to provide updates to update for Windows 7 Home Premium after Windows 10 come out?

    Hello Microsoft community.

I decided that I didn't update Windows 10. The updates I received created too many problems with my laptop. Not only that, but I wanted to keep Windows Media Center. Quite frankly, I like it. To solve the problems I had, I made a return to its original state when I brought my laptop. It is a Hewlett-Packard. It works beautifully now, but for some reason any everytime I try to run windows update, I get nothing. Windows Update is set to "recommended". I remember every Tuesday. Once a month, I would get security updates. Now since the resumption, I get nothing. Please don't wrong me, my laptop works perfectly, but it makes me wonder a Microsoft to stop giving updates for Windows 7 since its release Windows 10. Please enlighten me.

All versions of Windows are subject to periodic updates until the end of their life cycle. The lifecycle for Windows 7 ends in January 2020.

  • How can I get system administrator control/permission to update my drivers

During the process of updating my drivers (windows 7) using a dialog box said I needed permission of the system administrator to download updates... the Driver Detective software? I've never heard talk of such a thing... knew I had Administrator status but I can't understand this one... little help would be greatly appreciated.

Never use these "dubious" software  Driver Detective will cause problems and can "control" of your systoem 'management '.  You're better off 'uninstall '.

Why people think that motorists are "constant" updates on the 'land'.  If the equipment works properly, do not fix it.  There is only one category of drivers that you need to "revise" for periodic updates.  If you are using an nVidia or AMD (ATi) video card, you should consider a 'manual' update (you control when starting it has updated) of these video card drivers.

  • My computer has multiple problems (downloads, updates, drivers, software...) which I think could be connected.

Everything I download becomes corrupted somehow or is unable to run. I tried to UN - and reinstall the Zune software (because my computer had ceased to recognize my Zune while it is plugged), but when I tried to install it again, I got a "not a win32 application invalid" notification. I tried several times to download updates, but they still run into an error before completing. My mouse cursor freezes or moves around / clicks on its own occasionally. My internet connection is extremely slow and unreliable, despite the fact that the connection has recently been updated and given a more secure password. I tried to run a system restore in the hope that it would be useful, but which failed due to a program that could not be accessed. I disabled Avast! (I also have Malwarebytes can't see how to turn off) and ran the system restore again, but met the same problem. I think it was a virus, but I ran Avast! "s boot time scan run Malwarebytes in safe mode, and the problems continue.

I'm sure a couple of them at least are pure coincidence, but most of my problems appeared recently (about three weeks) ago and I have been fighting with them since. This is what gives me a thought that they are connected. Does anyone have an idea of what my problem, or how I might solve this problem?

Here are some other things you can check. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.

  • Cannot use Windows Update, firewall, Live games. Suspects of virus?

    Hello

I am currently using an Alienware M17x and there are a few problems.

Recently, I downloaded a game requiring a signature in Windows Live games and order I had to update the client. However, Games for Windows Live could not update and gave me an error code of 0 x 80070424. I also got this same error code when I tried to turn on the firewall in pressinng the button "Use recommended settings" in the control panel > system and security > Windows Firewall page.

I then tried to manually install the Games for Windows Live client, but he couldn't do it because 'a required Windows component is disabled on your machine. I checked the fix for this problem in the Microsoft Web site, and he asked me to locate the "Background Intelligence Transfer Service' in my services, which has proven to be missing. Also, the automatic update service disappeared.

Another problem that I recently noticed was that audio files randomly the movies will begin playing while my computer is running. I first thought that it was a website or popup while I was surfing the net, but I closed all the programs I was running, and the noise continued to play. Goose bumps...

I did some reading, and the closest thing I can relate to this is the Conficker Virus, but I hope that it is something more easy to remove...

Any help is greatly appreciated, because this virus seems to be the stubborn type!

You may need to restore the factory settings, so be sure to back up any data you want to save while you still can.  In the meantime, here are some things you can try.

Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.
