Peripheral PnP USB - muted, is unplug sound when not touched, "device not recognized" or a malfunction, etc...

Here is an exhaustive list I hope what happens (it's the Microsoft forums, so I think you guys are going to read a lot of information):

  • The sound on my PnP USB audio device cancels randomly without any reason. It is not to be touched at all, and often happens when I'm even not listen to all the sounds.
  • Before he died, it emits a blur in the helmet noise as it is to be disconnected or the cord is cut or something. I have to unplug it and plug it back several times to make it work.
  • It has been for several months, working properly, this month started anything, for about a week.
  • I can't use my headset because it is loose. I had the USB key to solve this problem, because it's too expensive get taking fixed. I did not buy the device at first hand, I got it from a family member who took my laptop in for repair and the guy he recommended and we sold two of these jacks.
  • When it goes off during a game, I can't sound to return. Sometimes I can fix it on a game (as Portal 2, for example) by going to options and change the type of sound (or any) what's called it headphones to speakers, then back to the helmet. However, the game freezes often when the sound goes off and I have to remove the usb key, and in this case the game should also be repeated. In addition, everything has sound options like that.
  • This happens randomly, but it tends to happen every five minutes or every few seconds, and coincidentally it almost always happens during a loading on a video game screen.
  • It is not always give me a warning sound, especially on the games. He's just quiet.
  • Device Manager does not display a point of exclamation or question marks next to any audio device and the key USB pnp is indicated correctly. In the options of the sound in the Control Panel, there is of the sound bars next to the USB key that indicates that his is read, but it is not in playback mode. The USB pnp is listed as default device, so don't tell me to do. The microphones are turned off as well.
  • It does the same thing in all my usb ports.
  • The driver is up-to-date and meant for Windows 7.
  • I do not install the Windows updates. Updates are bad.
  • Box for what he calls a "USB stereo Audio Adapter external" StarTech.com, or "ICUSBAUDIO". It came with a disc that I used to install the driver, and I went on their website to get one for Windows 7 specifically and installed.
  • I use a computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7. In Device Manager, there are three things listed under sound: Realtek High Definition Audio Intel (r) display Audio and USB PnP Sound Device. None of the USB devices have exclamation points.
  • For the first time today, when the usb unplug sound, my computer tells me "Device not recognized" and said it could have malfunctioned. When I clicked on it for more information, he said that he could not tell me what the usb was even because it was not plugged in, which was not true. I also had a window appears which has tried to install the device driver (already installed) and then was told that the unit had been disconnected before he could do (not true). It just happened, for the second time today a few seconds ago.

  • USB ports power your equipment, but not recognizing devices

I started my pc yesterday (21/02/10) - for the first time since the incident of the blue death screen has resolved on 10/02/10 (see 'recent history of the problem' below). I got a screen that says "volume dirty cleaning in 3 steps" or something like that. Subsequently, the windows starts fine but the USB ports stopped working.

All 3 USB ports are now fueling your equipment (confirmed by my laptop fan) , but none of them give me access to any external devices as my flash drives.

Note: I didn't say "" do not recognize devices "and instead said"give me no access to devices "because when I plug in my flash drive, it is profiled as a material published by ususal Display icon at the bottom right of the taskbar." Of more when I try to eject the material, the flash drive appears as "Kingston Data Traveller". It's simply not let me access the flash player - instead when I click on the flash player icon (drive F :) it asks me to format the drive before using.) But then when I am trying to format it says that "windows cannot format the device."

[Please note that the USB ports are all works perfectly between these two dates.] In addition, I did not any changes, hardware or software, recently. ]

Recent history of problems (might be useful):

I got a blue screen of death problem 2 weeks after I had installed Windows XP updated 09/02/10. I could solve this problem by uninstalling all the following patches: KB978262, KB971468, KB978037, KB975713, KB978251, KB978706, KB977165, KB975560 KB977914. make a sfc/scannow, as indicated here that it will reinstall missing and corruption of files http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html I also noticed in your answer "dirty volume in 3 steps of cleaning" is you have using a kind of cleansing software registry cleaner etc. Registry cleaners that aren't much good for the most part and they will mess up your computer...
If you do not use a cleaner that get some anti malware software download and run

  • USB Flash Drive Digital Signature is not recognized

During the summer, I discovered that there is a huge trojan virus on my Vaio laptop.  I had to buy phone support and Sony helped me catch the virus from my computer.  However, now that I'm in College that I discovered that my laptop is unable to do the only thing I need to do - recognize my flash drive.

When I plug ANY flash drive into the USB port of no matter WHAT, he did not recognize.  I get this message: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52) »

When I try to update the driver software it says that it is up-to-date.  I tried the thing support page of this says Sony (https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31399/p/48903%2C49902%2C71535%2C71585/c/65%2C66/kw...) where you configure the Local Disk Manager to start automatically and I do not have a local disk on my computer management.

Is there a way to get back or get my USB key to work without the Disk Manager?  I really need this to get fixed!

Here is the info on my laptop if it helps:

    OS: Windows 7-64 bit

    Model: VPCEH3MFX

I haven't downloaded or modified software since they fixed my hard drive since the virus, I don't know if maybe the person who fixed it has removed this feature accidentally or something.

Thank you so much in advance!

  • Windows 7 printer and HP1120c using gigaware usb, a parallel printer cable is not recognized by plug-and-play

I can't get my printer recognized by plug-and-play.  I have installed a printer manually, but still can not get to work.  All boards

    Hello Kirk,

I'm not sure what you mean by "manually installed", but you need a print driver for the printer recognized by Windows. Go to this page to download the driver you need for whatever version of Windows you have: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=14497&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=25522&prodTypeId=18972&lang=en&cc=us .

Once you have downloaded the right print driver, I let the computer do the installation.  NOTE: you may need to completely uninstall what you've done "manually" so that the correct driver is working correctly. See the HP Web site for more information (I'd do it, but I do not know what operating system you have and its depth of Bit (32 or 64)).

Post here if you need further instructions or assistance (be sure to include your OS and Bit depth). Let me know how you fare.

    Kind regards

  • HDD USB not recognized as "physical1" when creating the new virtual machine

    Hi all

I wanted to create a new virtual machine, and I wanted to use my USB as a physical drive.

But Workstation shows me "physical0" which is of course my drive internal.

I tried USB pen drives. They are not recognized either.

This somehow is no longer supported? I would have that it would be possible to use USB external HDD as the physical drive to a new virtual machine.

    you have installed VirtualBox?

If so, you can try to use the virtuaklbox command line tool to create a descriptor of rawdisk for this disc.

say diskpart on this drive? -It is "online"?

  • MacBook Pro not recognizing the Cougar USB install

I have a Macbook Pro 5.2-17 "retina display. I replaced the hard drive and I am installing Mountain Lion. The hard drive is not an SSD. It's a 500 GiB Western Digital SATA, partitioned with TPG and JHFS +.

I started by installing El Capitan, because that's all I had. The installer of El Capitan is on an external USB drive that is partitioned. When I boot using the down Option key, the C key or command-R, the installer of El Capitan is recognized. I installed El Capitan, created an installer of Mountain Lion on a different partition on the same external USB drive and erased El Capitan the internal hard drive. When I boot on the USB setup of Mountain Lion is not recognized. Setup of El Capitan is recognized correctly. Why not available in boot manager during startup? When I got El Capitan installed, the two partitions have been recognized very well when I plugged in the USB. Both were mounted and appears on the desktop. So I know that the problem is not the USB key, or 2.0 or 3.0, or the recovery partition because I erased the disc and the recovery partition is no longer exist. How can I get the installer of Mountain Lion to be recognized at startup?

I did the command Option P R, NVRAM reset several times. No joy. The only partition recognized at boot time is the installer of El Capitan.

I want to level back to Mountain Lion because it is less intrusive than El Capitan and will be more familiar to the person who will use this computer.

Oh, and more than two elements. When I start the installer for OS X from the external USB drive, I gives me three options on where to install TO - install OS X El Capitan, install OS X Lion mountain and Macintosh HD. Therefore the partition setup of Mountain Lion is recognized, but not as an installer to start from. Although when I plugged in the USB port when El Capitan was installed he showed as an installer Mountain Lion.

Also, there is NO option to choose where to install FROM. If I have two installation programs, I have two choices of installation?

  • I have a problem with finding a PnP USB audio device when you search for available audio devices.

    Hello.

I am building an application that can find a PnP USB audio device and play a tone if the device is connected. I am able to search audio devices using "Sound Device Info.vi" of the lvsound2.llb that comes with labview.

The vi can find the USB device in good conditions, but there are problems - I'll try to describe 2 scenarios.

    1. the USB device is connected before 'Sound Device Info.vi' is called for the first time.

In this case, the program can find the USB device. If I unplug it, the device disappears from the list of found audio devices. If I reconnect to the same USB port, it reappears in the list. It's all good.

If I reconnect it however a new USB port, the device is not found. This is not good.

    2. the USB devices is not connected when 'Sound Device Info.vi' is called for the first time.

"Sound Device Info.vi" is not able to find the device. Disconnect and reconnect does not make a difference.

    I'm under labview 2012 on windows 7.

I am running the application as an exe to build.

I call 'Sound Device Info.vi' as a 'call for reference"and the reference is closed between calls to the vi. I was hoping this would unload the dll used in "Sound Device Info.vi" and would solve the problem, but it didn't.

Is there a way to reset the information usb labview during execution?

    Concerning

    Stephan.

    Hey Stephan.

The sounds screws require a DLL located in:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\resource\lvsound2.dll

Internally, LabVIEW uses the DirectX API to enumerate devices. The one caveat is that probe us for devices when loading the DLL. We probe not later. So that it works for Bluetooth, USB, fire wire, etc. devices that can be inserted or removed at any time, you control somehow when this DLL charge and discharge. To do this, please see the following document:

Dynamically that I can load and unload a DLL in LabVIEW?

I would also recommend that you provide a Kudo to this idea:
