Permissions in different catalog on disk - can it be changed?

I have a Lightroom catalog that references the images on a NAS. The images have permissions set to 'read only' when they were imported to the LR; Since then, the disk permissions have been changed to "read/write". A large number of keywords has been done on the images and now metadata won't save pictures because Lightroom can still see read-only permissions. Is it possible to use SQLite to change what Lightroom sees or is there a way to fix this without synchronization of files and lose the metadata? Thanks for any help on this.

Lightroom CC 2015

Mac Os X Yosemite 10.10.4

In this case, the operating system must always be confused and say the wrong thing in Lightroom. Try to disassemble and reassemble the NAS drive.  If this fails, in Lightroom, control or right click on the main folder location and do a folder location to update but point to the same place as he had already pointed.

    Hello

    Try resetting preferences

Note:-back up your Lightroom Catalog beforehand and save Photoshop preferences

    * Now reset preferences Hold Down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT (WIN) CMD + OPTION + SHIFT (MAC) while starting Lightroom. A dialog box appears prompting you to restore Preferences (LR)

    Once done open again Lightroom

Make sure you have a lot of read/write of the location where you save the catalog... To create a folder on your desktop, confirm, then try to create the catalog again it

I would like to know if there is a question...

    Thank you

  • Images of a unique catalogue on two hard disks can be consolidated for a non-destructivly drive?

My catalogue contains images of two different hard disks. One, my main drive and the other a small external. I want to draw all the files from the outside for the larger hard drive WITHOUT deleting them from the outside. I think that it's impossible to all the research I've done. I can easily move the files moving files in Lightroom, but this removes the files from the original disc. I can't import the files because they are already in the catalog. I can use Explorer to copy the files, but when I do this Lightroom ignoring double because he already knows about the image and where it was originally and still is. This is true even when the external is disconnected.

One idea is to create a new catalog and import all of the photos in the new catalogue. If I do this will I lose any changes that I made in the original catalogue. And I can import the files from the primary drive without in fact to pass the actual raw data that is just say this new catalogue hey these pictures are already in this folder go to find them and then import the files from the outside, by physically copying in the dialog box import to lightroom from outside the main disk. This translates into a large photo file on the main drive with all the pictures imported and named the same way taken by date without destroying the files on the outside.

Cleaning of the mistakes of the past is always much more complicated that take those time and not make them in the first place, but I have not lived my life that way. Thanks for any help.

    Best for the community,

    M

    Not true, it is possible.

In your operating system, you COPY the files (and not MOVE) bigger hard disk, then point Lightroom to the new location of the pictures on the larger hard drive using these instructions (scroll down to the section called "Update folder location")

My Lightroom does not. It is showing the message - failed to open the Lightroom catalog called Catalog Lightroom because it is too new to be used by this version of Lightroom. You want to select a different catalog?

It is a catalog that you created on your computer, or coming from another computer?

If it is one that has been created on your computer, you can search your computer to see if you have two different versions of Lightroom installed. If so, then you want to open the new version of Lightroom by double-clicking its icon, and then you should be able to open the catalog.

  • I have Lightroom CC. I need to take collections of 3 different catalogs and combine in a slide show.

It won't let me combine collections of different catalogs, or export each of the 3 collections in a new catalog.

What would be the way to create a slideshow from three different catalogues/3 different collections... There is more 40 000 u/w images, so there should be several catalogs :-)

40 000 images can be in a catalog in Lightroom.  There are people who have 100, in thousands of images in a single catalog.   The way to do is to "Export as Catalog" three different temporary files need to each main catalog catalogs.  Then 'Import as Catalog' two of these 3 temporary catalogs in the catalog remains temporary for your slide show.  You ran into the main reason to have a catalog.

    CC on a Mac:

How do I completely erase an existing catalog so I can start over?

    Thank you.

Yes, you can have two separate catalogues for personal use and work.

If a book is opened, you switch to the other catalog using file-> open recent or-> open the catalog.

You can not have two different catalogs open at the same time.

Make sure you do not import into the catalog wrong!

  • Shortcut to the different catalog?

I use PSE 4.0 and I would like to implement shortcuts on my desktop to open different catalogs. I have a catalog for work and one for personal and it would be nice to open directly to the one I choose. Is this possible?

Yes. Each catalog is a separate file ending with .psa somewhere on your hard drive. You can create a shortcut to this file and double-click it. You can find the location and name of each catalog file by opening the organizer and by opening the specific catalogue of interest and selecting Help-> System Info.

    Hello

    · You receive error message associated with rundll32.exe error code?

    · Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

  • I have four recovery disks that after I bought my computer, I did. These disks can be used to install Windows on the new drive?

My computer came with Windows 7.  Recently, my hard drive failed.  I have four recovery disks that after I bought my computer, I did.  These disks can be used to install Windows on the new drive?

    YES!

I just did mine 01/01/2016, installed a new WD 500 GB HDD black on my laptop ASUS K52F, took my DVD 4 restore disks and restored to Win 7 Home Premium, more 10 Windows, which is sitting on my old HDD in the trash. I'll stick with my Original OEM OS and never improve to WIN 10 times.

NOTE: The only time the restore disks do not work is when you replace your motherboard.

  • Have 2 Photosmart 5510-e printers in different homes. How can we install in our computers as well?

Have 2 Photosmart 5510-e printers in different homes. How can we my husband and I install two printers in our computers, so we can print on Photosmart 5510 - 1 in a home and Photosmart 5510 - 2 in the other. We have installed a printer to the computer of my husband and the other in mine, but impossible to install two printers in a computer.

Hi, just so I'm clear of I'll try and clarify that I think that is that you are trying to do.

You have 1 computer and 1 1 printer in the House

You have 2 computers and 2 2 printer in the House

You want to be able to print the home computer/printer at home 2-1 and vice versa.

    Can I declare the above?

If so, there is a way to print on a printer from two places without having to install two printers on both computers. It's the ePrint Service whereby you can print emails and attachments to an ePrint printer by sending your message with attachments to the e-mail address of unique printers.

Have you enabled Web Services and obtained two unique codes printers (which doubles as their respective addresses with the suffix @hpeprint.com)?

Otherwise here is a useful link with information on how to HP ePrint help & tips

I hope this helps you with your problem, but if not let me know and I'll do my best to help

If I move the mSATA 512 GB 8.1 running reader to win a Dell XPS 15 will be the product key in the system Bios if the reader is set to automatically activate the software.

Yes, it will work, Windows 8.1 has the excellent hardware detection. Please note that both systems must run the same edition.
