Permit required to run Windows 7 & 8

Hello

I have Windows 7 ultimate and Windows 8 Pro Upgrade.  I'm about to install on a new machine.  I would like to install Windows 7 as my main OS (I have a lot of apps that I trust that I'm not sure in Windows 8), and I would like to have the ability to start Windows 8 in a session of Hyper-V to try some development Windows Phone 8.
  1. Is this possible?
  2. I'm breaking licensing rules by doing this, because I use my standalone Windows 7 and as a way to allow the 8 Windows Installer.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated.
Kind wishes ~ Patrick

I don't know anything about Hyper-V, but I would point out that if you buy and use an upgrade of Windows, you end up with a license, not two. The Windows 7 livense gets subsumed under the Windows 8 a. This is the main reason that an upgrade license is less expensive than a full license.

So, no, you cannot use the Windows 7 and Windows 8.
