Persona Manager - no copy on logout

Hello

We use MP on Win 7 non-persistent offices which are destroyed during the restart.

PM copies the files in repository every 10 minutes, as specified in the Group Policy object.

However, if I add an etudesa desktop (the desktop is replicated) and log out before the interval of replication following... the file is not copied to logout.

If I add a file to the desktop, it is not reproduced in the repository (be it on disconnect or the replication interval).

The records must be replicated in standard? Why the Office does not replicate.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Well, it was a problem of storage area of all kinds.

There is no problems with permissions, and we changed the direct way DFS DFS server pointed to, and the problem still persists.

In the end, we have created a new area (with the same permissions) on another storage (with SFR) and that's all working well. Strange. No real answer, but we were moving storage anyway, and we are happy here.

With the help of the Persona and roaming management %LocalAppData%, after a closed session at the next logon are quite a few questions. Often, the start menu does not open or empty.

It turns out that specifying a roaming profile path in the object active directory of users was the cause for the synchronization of partial management of persona. Despite this work with windows 7 and the management of the persona, seems not to work when a profile path is specified in the object of the AD, and perhaps in other GPOS that apply to the VM OR or the user OR windows 10 and persona management.

Maybe we could use a GPO applied to set "Allow only local user profiles" and apply it to the UO of VM of Horizon.

We do not want to be able to specify a path in the object to users when they log on a physical computer and the GPO from VMware is supposed to replace. "Ignore the path of the Active Directory user profile is configured." must be broken or does not work as expected in Windows 10.

  • See Persona management and different versions of Windows

    Hello

I would like to have management Persona to respect version of profile settings in Windows.

I enabled through the registry of Windows, versions of profile but Persona management always uses the suffix V2. Is there a way of automatically manages this or should I create two different GPO for windows 7 and windows 8.1 where I specify two different paths?

    Cristiano

    Hi Cristiano,.

    Regarding your questions.

Automatically adds the Persona. V2 as a suffix of the profile. It's for Windows 7 up to version 8.1.

If you want to differentiate the profile for Win7 and Win8.1, then you must create the location of different profile using different GPOS.

However, if users want their data are always the same, I suggest that you use the folder redirection for data users such as "My documents", "my music", etc.. "

  • Windows, clones and persona management saved credentials

    Hi all

We have an infrastructure of clone of work with Persona management put in place. Everything works very well only our users complain that their windows credentials are not saved to a network share that they use, what is actually the case: once you change the clones, even though you checked to remind the credentials box, your windows password safe is empty and the credentials must be entered again to access the remote share.

I looked around, I found this KB:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 2052573

As I understand it, touring credentials is not supported, and this can be done. Which, I guess, sort of logic.

However, I came across this post on the forum:

Finds support in the management of Persona to CryptProtectData

Where is the original says that "View Persona Manager does support the Windows API data protection.' poster.

I'm confused here: is it possible to wander the credentials for network shares or not? If so, how this reach you? If not, is it final or is it planned to get this working?

    Thanks for your comments,

    Marc

For everyone wondering the same thing and do not find an answer, upgrading the client to view the clones to 6.0.1 fixed the problem.

  • Floating pool, the persona management, printer by default do not forget

I deployed a small floating pool view 5.0 with management Persona has helped a few users, so far, everything seems to work very well.

The only exception is the default printers, look to the top of the printer in the Directory network, adds to their VM and affects as their default printer. Will use this VM all day with no problems, but when they disconnect and reconnect the next day, the default printer is not known.

Printers are added, just the default printer is not fair. It comes down to the "Microsoft XPS Writer".

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Michael

Sorry for not updated this thread a long time ago. I could solve this problem by using a .vbs script connecting to add printers to network and then set them as default.

I just posted more details about this on my blog today:http://miketabor.com/set-default-printer-view-floating-desktop-persona-management/

    Hope this helps someone else!

Using Lr test, I managed to copy photos in the Catalogue and in development. Now, I want to use the photo developed/published as master and delete the original. So using the "modified" as the new source version. What is the process to do this?

This is to manually remove the master files. But are you sure you want to do this? Especially if these files are raw files? If you do, you throw a lot of precious image data. Remember that the main files are completely intact and in their original state at any time. The catalog stores all the changes that you make. But if you really want to delete your master files, you need just to delete them individually or as a group.

  • Discover 5.0 Persona management vs persistent discs

    Hello

I'm trying to understand the difference between GPOs Persona management and use of the persistent disks.

Are they to be used separately or could be used together?

Right now, I have a specialized pool created with a logic unit number dedicated to the persistent disk for user data.

It would be wise to implement policies of Persona at this point?  Or using this more useful when a floating swimming pool?

    Thank you!

It is certainly more useful in a floating pool.  I don't see why you couldn't use them together it would take just a few tests to see if it benefits you.

  • Problems with the Folder Redirection with Persona management, discovers 6.2.0

    Hi all

I use Persona configuration management to the top of the folder redirection. Office, Documents and bookmarks are copied to the location redirected when you first login. When the user connects again, persona does not load these elements in the redirected folders, but creates rather their local copies. It's strange.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Loc.

    Thank you h3nkY,

We have set up the Folder Redirection in our environment finally! It works for all except for users who are members of domain admins. This is a limitation of view Persona. In addition, who move document/records existing Persona to redirected folder was transparent without any downtime.

    Best regards

    Loc7.

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection on Horizon view 6.0 Clone related with Persona management, message 'do not save profile '.

Some users receive the error their character has no backup. KB 2019247 doesn't seem to be the problem. In the journal of VMWVvp.txt, there are repeated lines of this:

[593708] [17/12/2015 09:12:35:0793] [RTOLogon! PreDC] recovered standardszed file name Info: process: ccSvcHst.exe, leader: \Device\HarddiskVolume2

It is perhaps part of the problem? Flags of Persona logging and Debug are on. Within 3 hours, a VMWVvp.txt sessions had up to 300 MB. With the GPO management Persona, we have already excluded the ccSvcHst.exe process and we used the vietool to mark all existing files on the image of the mother as own.

Any ideas what the problem might be? What should look us in the newspaper?

However, profiles seems to be intact from one day to the other.

The error code you see (0xD0000022) means: {Access Denied} a process has requested access to an object, but did not have the access rights.

It may be a different problem with threads, as you pointed out.

Is it possible to test yourself using 6.2.1 agent to see the problem persists?

We have fixed questions on creating/deleting massive operation by browser and e-mail on this version client.

    Thank you.

  • 6 Persona management sync problem

Hi all. After upgrading to the Horizon view 6 and recompose desktop pool users get files of 0 KB of all types. However, on a file share, the files are ok.

If I copy files on a file share Office after a few days or after first disconnection of users still get 0 KB files. Where can I must start my survey?

If your using Windows Server 2012 for the persona directory sharing, make sure you exclude or shut off of data deduplication. At least that was what fixed it for me. If you have not enabled the deduplication, there are a few commands, you must run before you disable deduplication for 'undupe' data.
